WL Flag Family Of The Day pics added! - Birthday Magic and Disney Diva Hair.

At least ya'll didn't argue during the meltdown. When I have a meltdown at Disney I usually start a argument with Faron. The shirts are adorable. I thought we spent a lot of money too when we didn't do the dinning plan for the same reason you didn't. I did cook and freeze three meals that saved money. I didn't do it for the money I did it for Grace. She loves rice and gravy. She is spoiled eating her cajun food everyday. She is not a big fan of nuggets, fries, or mac n cheese. She wants rice and gravy. I love the Honey I shrunk the Kids playground. We let Grace and Brennan play there. On our first trip before we had Grace, Courtney played there.

This is my first post on this forum. I read all of this report today and really enjoyed it! I'm planning my first possible trip to DW and can't get enough of TRs at the moment. Thanks for writing it all up!

Oh I'm glad that someone else had the same sticker shock w/o DDP. $130 for the 3 of us at O'Hana almost made me throw up. From now on....we are going with the DDP. Even if it doesn't save us much cash- not having to "pay" right then and there helps me relax and enjoy the trip!

Drinks sound good! Playing family tour guide is going to be stressful, or I'm going to point to the bus stop and say have at it!:lmao:
Still debating the Christmas Party. I want to but we'll see. Have reservations at CG one of the party nights so I'll at least see the fireworks!

LOL. Point them to the bus:thumbsup2

The Christmas Party is really fun if you can swing it. But fireworks from CG is pretty awesome too!

Lots of updates to catch up on!popcorn:: Love the tubular christmas card idea, so cute. How nice that someone helped you photoshop Aubrey's pic.

Fireworks, oh what to say... Noah is the same way. Ear plugs work wonders. He even has issues with going to the movies. Don't get it, I swear he can get louder than the fireworks himself and that doesn't bother him:rotfl:

Aubrey seems so much like Chloe. Love how you got her to be ok with taking down her hair.:rotfl2: Sometimes you must tell a little fib, but hey it is a magical one. I can see you telling her the story then waiting for her to either fuss or believe you. Whew on that one.

After taking a 10 day trip this year, I definitely think 6 is enough. Day 7 is when the fatigue set in for us. We even missed a breakfast with the characters that I was looking forward to. Thinking the DVC sounds great for shorter trips more frequently. And I hear they are opening a new home in Hawaii :lovestruc

Keep the updates coming:woohoo:

I know. People are so nice on the DIS. I'm am excited about our Christmas card!

I hope Brendan grows out of the fireworks stage but I don't think it's going to happen any time soon! Maybe we'll try the earplugs!

The white lie about her hair worked great! I don't feel guilty about it at all:rolleyes1

I'm so happy to hear you say that you got burnt out too after day 6. I was just on Disney overload at that point! DVC is great. We have our trip planned for Dec then 2 shorter trips for next year. I LOVE it!!! And yes, the Hawaii resort is opened or opening soon. Can't remember. We plan on doing a week there for our 10 year anniversary in 2012:banana:

Absolutely LOVING your trip report. It is actually partly because of you that we decided to book another trip this December even though we just went in May. Our May trip was such a disappointment and I love some of the things you did...the pillow cases (I will use fabric pens and keep it out of the rain), the tea and all the other fun stuff. When are you going in December? I can't believe you remembered so much about your trip. I am still writing mine from May and forget 1/2 of it already. If we're there in December maybe we can meet up for a yummy drink in France. :goodvibes

We are going 12/1 - 12/7. I am glad I inspired you to book another trip! It truly is the best time of the year to go, IMO! I'm scared to ask why your May trip was a disappointment. Are you doing a TR? You know, I just go by my pictures. I look at them and it jogs my memory. I used to write everything down in a journal while I was there but I didnt't do that this last time. So I'm going on memory which is a scary thing:scared1: I would love to meet up for a drink!!! That would be fun:yay: Where are y'all staying?

Grace is so funny wiht her rice and gravy! Food is SO expensive there. It's just crazy. We'll have to give the playground another shot. It was a lot of fun.

Ok, can I just say that I am absolutely honored that your first post was on my TR!!!!! Welcome! The DIS is awesome. I have learned so much here! The people are great and you can pretty much find an answer to anything you're looking for. Let me know if I can help you with anything!

I just read that on your TR about Ohana. :scared1::scared1: But I'm not surpised. The food prices are redonculous! You're right. It is so much less stressful to not actually have to use "real" money while on vacation:laughing:

Love the tee shirts!
Where did you have these done?
Thanks!

Kim

Hi! I see this is your first post too! I am just so excited:banana:

What tee shirts are you asking about? I'd be happy to share:)

I am doing a TR...something like "How did a trip that started out so well end so bad?" I haven't gotten to the bad part yet. In summary....basically in-laws met us a few days in and mad it horrible. Kept calling...where are you; wait there. Spent all our time waiting. Ended up leaving a lot undone that we wanted to do. Definitely want to do pick a pearl in Japan. Even had the pearl cages with me last trip. I would love to do that tea at the Grand Floridian as well that you and Aubrey did. I told my daughter about it and she was all excited.

We are staying from Dec 2 - Dec 5 at the ASMo. First trip with a value. We are then staying at an offsite timeshar (Marriott's Harbour Lake) from Dec 5th - Dec 12th. A far cry from the BWV we stayed at in May. I will survive.:goodvibes

We are planning the MVMCP on Dec 9th. How is the weather that time of year? Can you still swim?

Ok, you are scaring me because guess who's crashing our December trip?... My INLAWS!:scared1::scared1: I am kind of nervous about it. We've done a family trip before, last May 2009 actually. There were 16 of us but we were not together a lot. We ate a few meals together, met up in the park a few time, but for the most part, we all did our own thing. I just think that's the only way to do it. Disney is a stressful trip when it's only DH and I am the kids! I can't imagine having to please other people too! I'm so sorry that happened to you. And you DEF have to do the pearl thing. It was awesome. I actually ordered 2 of the carriages the other day and plan on doing in with Aubrey. see, this is all stuff that will go in my PTR! I just haven't started it yet:)

So, what is the link to your TR? Am I blind? I don't see it in your siggy:confused:

The weather in December is pretty chilly, especially at night. I don't plan on swimming though people definitely do. I'd bring suits just in case but don't make any promises. They keep the pools at 80 degrees I think so it's doable.

ASmo is the first place we ever stayed. Love it there! We'd totally be doing a value if we weren't DVC. Can't beat it. Did you get the free dining?

I have heard the same "bad" reviews of Play and Dine. You are not the first, don't worry!! The PP pictures are GREAT! You guys take a wonderful picture :goodvibes

Yes, this was my first post!! Too fun!
I see that you had tee shirts made for you and your children...
where did you have those done? Was that through Disney?

Whoops...now i understand what you mean! I am notsure...they are all so cute. I would like to do shirts for all of our group. We have 8 peopel going....girls and boys and adults.

Thanks!

Kim

No worries. Just seems to be my in-laws. :rotfl2: I tried to go off on our own several times but that was always meant with whining because they didn't know what they were doing. They constantly wanted to be with us. I did not do the free dining. I went with the 40% off. Every other time we did free dining we thought it was just too much food! ALthough....I may have to look into it since it is free QS. The TS don't work well with my 2 year old. I have no idea how to post the link to my TR. How do I do that?

Glad to hear you liked ASmo. I'm stealing the pillowcase idea from you too - if you don't mind. I did picture mats the last time but they were huge and a pain to carry around.

The craziness with the inlaws has already started. They were over here last night and I was trying to nicely say that I am looking forward to this trip but there's no way we can spend every minute together. They just decided to come so thankfully all of our dining is already booked. I may book one other meal for all of us but that's it. My SIL is going also. We are all staying at different places- us at AKV, SIL at Pop, and inlaws at an offsite timeshare. I'm hoping that will help. We'll be able to escape to our hotel when needed:woohoo:

PLEASE take the pillowcase Idea. It really came out cute, minus the rain:headache:

Ok, so go to the first page of your TR, highlight the link, right click on it to copy, then past it in a post to me:) I really want to read it. Or just tell me the title and I'll search for it. Ok, I'm off to do an update...

Hi everyone! I am actually doing an update at a normal hour! I am having my coffee, the kids are quiet, so I figured why not! Now, I may be distracted because I'm watching Lady Gaga on The Today Show. That girl is strange. It's like a bad car wreck. I can't turn away!!!

Ok, focus...

So, when I left you last, we were hanging out with the Army men. This was a good time killer and I got some great pics out of it. After we wrapped up with them, it was finally time to use our TSM FP's!!

We got in line and I remember hearing how cute the que was. It was AWESOME!!! The kids loved it and so did we. There was so much to look at! Thankfully, we didn't have too long to wait so we were to our car pretty quickly! Here are a few pics...

DSC_0100.jpg

And here's Brendan. He has this obsession with putting glasses on upside down. He refuses to wear them right! It's so funny, yet so strange... And look how old he looks in this pic! He looks like a 6 year old and he's barely 3!!

DSC_0097.jpg

And here is my third child. He was so excited. I love this pic in a goofy, I don't know him sort of way...

DSC_0101.jpg

So it was now time to load the cars. Aparantly I missed the memo about Aubrey having to ride with Jason on every ride! I didn't do it on purpose, but she ended up with me on this ride. She FREAKED out! And I guess the upside down glasses look rubbed off on her. Here is my precious angel...

DSC_0102.jpg

She started to snap out of it when we began to realize how INCREDIBLY AMAZING this ride is! Remember, we had never ridden it and I was wondering what all the hype was. Well, it did not disappoint! What a cool and fun ride! I had no idea that it was set up like it is! Too cool! I want to ride it again right now!

Everyone was so excited after that ride. It was great and a perfect ending to our time in the parks! After TSM, we headed to the gates and gave a sad farewell to DHS :( I know I was ready to go home and we were exuausted but it's always so hard to say goodbye. It makes it a little easier knowing we'd be back soon. We pretty much never leave WDW without knowing when we'll be back so there's always more magic to look forward to.

We headed back to the hotel. I wanted to do some exploring. I read about the hiking trails around WL and FW. We ended up decided to rent a surrey bike and ride around. We rented a bike on our first family trip in Sept of 08. We were staying at BCV so we rented one of the surreys on the boardwalk. If you all read that TR, you will remember what fun that was. Next time you're on the boardwalk, please make sure to notice the poor people riding around on the surry bikes. It was great riding around the water and taking in the scenery, but then there was... THE HILL! The one right outside of The Dolphin, or Swan. I can't remember. All I remember is almost going into cardiac arrest trying to get all four of us up and over that hill in the bike:scared1: It was SO hard! But fun. I was hoping that this ride around the grounds of our resort would be a little more relaxing.

DSC_0111-1.jpg

Family Shot...

DSC_0113.jpg

Oops, forgot a pic. I remember how much the kids got a kick out of the pawprints in the concrete on the sidewalks around the resort. It became a fun game for them to find the prints. It's so funny because they still do it. When we were on our beach vacation a few weeks ago, the sidewalks there also had bird prints, leaf prints... The kids were so excited. They kept saying... "See just like Wilderness Lodge!" Too cute. Great memories. Here they are checking it out...

DSC_0107-1.jpg

Ok, back to the bike... We loaded up and got our directions of where to go, where not to go, ect... It was a gorgeous day and there was a nice breeze. It was great.

DSC_0117-2.jpg

The path took us over to FW and to the horse stables. We parked the bike and got out to explore a bit. They were doing pony rides but we didn't have any cash with us so we had to avoid that area. I'm still bummed that we had to skip it :( But there was lots more to see. I LOVE horses so this was a treat for me as well. Here is Aubrey checking out one of the horses...

DSC_0120.jpg

On our Sept trip, we did one of the haunted carriage rides here. It was awesome! We were actually on the very first ride that they did. They used to do haunted hay rides but had switched to carriage rides. We were on the very first one! Anyway, I remember them telling us a few fun facts about the horses. These little ponies are used to pull Cinderella's carriage...

DSC_0126.jpg

And these big guys are used to pull the trollies down Main Street and they are also ridden by the headless horseman who opens up the parade at MNSSHP! Too cool!

DSC_0130.jpg

After hanging out for a while, it was time to hit the "road" back to WL. Here is a pic of the path we took. It was just beautiful!

DSC_0135-1.jpg

When we got back to the resort, we turned in our bike and headed back towards our room. On the way there, I noticed a crowd forming on the sidewalk. As I got closer, I saw that they were all looking at something in the grass, just off the sidewalk. I looked closer and found this!

DSC_0146-1.jpg

DSC_0142-1.jpg

Can I tell you, this TOTALLY grossed me out!!!! There were kids petting it and taking pictures! Even Jason touched it. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. I don't know why but I just thought it was disgusting. But the kids thought it was the coolest thing ever!

After our encounter with the road kill, we made our way back up to the room to start packing. Like saying goodbye to WDW, it is also sad to pack up. No matter how ready you are to go home.

When we got back to our room, there was a letter waiting for us. It was from the WL rangers officially inviting us to raise the flags in the morning. I was so excited! We laid low this night and hung out at the hotel. We had an early morning.

Up next, the best part of the trip for me. An amazing experience on the roof of the WL!!!

First off, I love your LSU princess t-shirt. Sooooooooooooo cute. We loved TSM also. I just had to hold on tight to Grace each time we took off after a scene because it was jerky and she would have flown off the seat. She was only 20 months old. I wish I could ride it right now too. It was a good surprise to have your update this morning. I read it while drinking my coffee too. I guess we had coffee together LOL. The armadillo Yuck!! We used to see them when we went camping. Before Grace was born when the other two were younger. We would make a circle around it and come in closer and closer until it would run away. Well, the last time we did this the stupid thing ran under my legs. I freaked out and I refused to ever play that game again. :rotfl2:

We love TSM! We have the Wii game but it's just not as good. The bike ride was a great idea and looks like not near as much work as on the Boardwalk.:lmao: You had a nice relaxing night. I can't wait to read about raising the flag.

Do you ever go to the La Madeleines on Jefferson?

It is nowhere near as good as yours. I have also started a PTR for our December trip but need to change that around (thanks to you). I looked into free dining and it turned out the difference was $140. So...we bit the bullet and opted for "free" dining. We just did the QS as my DS2 doesn't do well in restaurants. Turns out that while most of our stay is in the blackout, our first day isn't. So, we got it for the 3 nights. Had to move our itinerary around as we were going to spend the 3rd day at SW but since we had the dining we are going to stay in Disney at one of their parks.

I almost missed your update....you're posting at a "normal" hour. I heard the Lady Gaga performance on the Today Show was the biggest audience to date. I just don't see the appeal. It is very similar to a train wreck though. Thanks again for all the great ideas!

Ok, lmao about your armadillo game:lmao: I can just see you doing that, even though I've never actually "seen" you! LOL It was gross.

I do go to LeMadeline on Jefferson. I actually live just a few blocks down from there in Old Goodwood across from Town Center.

Okay..so, hopefully I did this right. Here is the link....

I am so happy you were able to take advantage of the free dining! It's always more savings than the PIN's. You know, I am a TA in my spare time and book trips for Disney. I have been so busy rebooking trips in December for people and I've checked a lot of PIN's. The dining always comes out ahead! The QS plan is great if you don't want to sit down. It's going to be challenging doing it with Brendan. I know this. But I still want to do it! I'm sure I'll regret it then!

Lady Gaga actually has a really great voice but she's so freaking weird I just can't get passed it. Strange bird!!!

I thought you lived by there. That's where DH works. Love the food!

Ok, do y'all go to Mercy? My sister is a teacher there I could have sworn that she has mentioned she knew somebody that worked at Lamadeline?! Maybe I'm just losing it:)

Hi everyone. Ok, I am so excited about the next update but I can't do it right now because we're about to go out to dinner and I dont' want to be rushed. It was the highlight of my trip!!! So, instead of Disney, would anyone like to see our beach trip pics? I'm sure you do. And you don't really have a choice:lmao: We had a great trip and the place we stayed really reminds us of DTD so technically, I think it should qualify for an update.

We went to The Baytowne Wharf in Destin, Fl. It was great. Here we go...

First up are a few shots of our view. It is a mix between DTD and Bourbon Street. Great place in the heart of the action!

Every Tuesday night, they put on a "Mini" Gras in the square with live music, inflatables, and arts and crafts for the kids. Here are a few shots of that night...

And the highlight of the trip for me, we went out on a real "pirate" ship called the Black Beard. It was actually a 65 foot sailboat and the trip came complete with a real pirate! It was fun.

After the trip out on the boat, Aubrey wanted to have her characature done. She wanted to badly to do it at WL but we ran out of time. We thought we would try and make up for it here...

DSC_0090.jpg

OMG, I must show you a pic of the completed drawing. It came out aweful! It's worth posting but I have to take a pic of it first.

Here is a pic of Aubrey. I have to say that this is probably the best picture that i have ever taken of her. It is just beautiful, if I do say so myself:)
