WK vs. Poly

I am new to this site, so please forgive me if I don't know all the abbreviations yet! I am thinking about our next trip to WDW already even though it is not for a while. We stayed at POR the last time.

What do people think about the WL vs. Poly? I like that WL is cheaper, but Poly has the monorail to MK and Epcot, plus the rooms are bigger. Our kids will have just turned 8, 5 and 2 when we go, so we could still put the youngest in a crib. I just don't want us to feel packed into our room !

What about the pool and restuarants? Which are better?

Welcome to the DisBoards. We just got back from the Polynesian last week. While there, we ate at and checked out WL. Our room at Polynesian was quite roomy. Nice restaurants and really convenient transportation. My 9 y/o dd liked it a lot. My dh and I had a wonderful meal at Artist Point at WL. One of the best meals we've had in recent memory anywhere!!! We checked out the rest of the resort. Liked the pool area. And walking around the area was really nice. The restaurant offerings seemed to be fine and plentiful. As far as transportation went we took the bus over from TTC from the Polynesian. We took the boat back to Contemporary and then took the monorail back to the Polynesian. I think the WL may not be as convenient as other resorts as far as transportation issues go. I know the rooms are smaller, more the size of POR. A crib might make you feel cramped. You could ask for a room with the bunk-beds tho. The Polynesian easily sleeps 5. The daybed is the same as a twin bed. We would really like to stay at WL at some point and where there are only the 3 of us, room size isn't a big concern. I guess you just have to decide what is most important to you....cost, room size, ease of transportation. Either way, I'm sure your stay would be terrific.
