Wk Of Sept 22 - WISH Walking/Running Club

WWDave - If she tries to keep you out of trouble, why is there a little guy hanging off your arm????

That's actually my PatsFan Bill, Voodoo doll.:wizard. Erica does try real hard to keep me out of trouble.

How's it going Jen?

DAve:hippie:

Dave - Oh, now I understand!!! So, hey, it's going. I can complain, but I won't. I guess all the drama keeps my life interesting. But I am going to Beef A Rama this weekend and running the Rump Roast Run 10K... can't get better than that!!!!

Hello, WISHers!

I really had a tough time getting out this morning to run; didn't even start until 9:30. The whole run was a stonker and I did 1 1/2 minute walk breaks every ten minutes, which I usually don't do. However, I still managed to go a bit over 4 miles in 40 minutes so I guess it wasn't a total loss.

I hope everyone else has a better training session today. Tomorrow I've got to do 45 minutes; I have got to get out there as soon as DS hops on the bus!

But I am going to Beef A Rama this weekend and running the Rump Roast Run 10K... can't get better than that!!!!
Boy if the tag fairy doesn't grab that one! :rotfl:

Happy training, all!
Renee

Just stopping by to say hi!!!!

Carrie: Welcome back!!!!!

Renee: Sorry to hear about your run this morning. Go gettum tomorrow.

Patsbill: Sorry to hear about your back. Hope the DR can give you something to help you out.

Yikes, work gets in the way again. Gotta run

Kim

Stacey – Glad your shoulder is feeling better! Can’t help you on the tights question. It hardly ever gets cold here.

Carrie – I was just thinking about you the other day, wondering where you were. Glad to hear that training is going well!

Jen in GA – Good job on the speed workout!

Vic – Sorry to hear about your dog! Does he have to go back to the vet for tests or anything?

Andrew – Great, now I have the song “Secret Agent Man” stuck in my head. :lmao:

Dave – I’d never thought of that, either! Took me a minute to figure it out.

Meghan – Great job on the 4-miler! Glad the massage seemed to help.

Leana – I did that once at a job interview. Went in with one black shoe and one navy shoe. Oops!

Monte – Good luck on your first full marathon!

Jen – Beef A Rama? Sounds like fun!

Renee – Sorry it was a stonker, but you still did great on the 4-miler!

Well, only got a mile in last night, but that's better than nothing!

I've GOT to go get some bigger workout shorts. Trying to wear pre-pregnancy running shorts is getting uncomfortable (not to mention the fact that it looks ridiculous). Maybe I can convince DH that we need to stop at Target on the way home tonight.

My appointment was during Dancing with the Stars, so I just watched my tape from last night. I'm so relieved to see that Helio did well. He looked really nervous! I've been lucky enought to meet him several times and he is always so nice to his fans. I'm glad to see that he personality is really showing through on the show. By the way, his partner was at the Chicagoland race and she was getting as much attention in the pit area as Helio was. She must have signed a ton of autographs. Online voting doesn't close until noon today! (hint, hint)

18 votes from our household as soon as the show started last night. We were screaming when Helio finished and the judges raved about his performance - you'd have thought he'd won the 500 again!

Went back to the doctor this morning. I'm officially off crutches and just in the walking boot for the next two weeks, as long as the ankle doesn't hurt. If it starts hurting, it's two more weeks of crutches; if not, after the two weeks, I'm DONE!

At that point, I'll only be 3 weeks away from the Raleigh race, so I'm going to plan to volunteer for that one and concentrate on Disney. There's a 5K and 10K the 2nd weekend in November that I may try to do. Any idea how long it's going to take me to get back in shape after 8+ weeks off?

Jackie

Hey all! This will probably be my last post before the big 26.2 this Saturday. We leave for the airport tomorrow morning at 4 and yes, none of us are packed yet!:scared1: I'll be sure to check in sometime Sat. afternoon or Sunday for IL's to let ya'll know how it went.

Oh, and those asking about MSDave--he's been posting over on the MCM thread. Just pop over there and say HI! I've crashed their thread many times!

Monte--Good luck this weekend! We'll be with you in spirit!

Kim--Good luck to you as well this weekend on your half!

Carrie--So glad to see you back around here! You are tearing up the road woman!

Okay, REALLY gotta go now! See ya'll later!

Jackie - PD for that ankle, and here's hoping you are off crutches for good now!
TxAng - Did you get that shopping trip in to Target? I miss that store...
Renee - Sorry about that stonker. I hope you run tomorrow will be better. Positive thinking that it will be!

I got my run in over lunch - 3.98 mi in 44:38 (11.13/mi). That included three hill repeats. I came up a bit short because I was already in front of the Vietnamese sub restaurant and didn't want to wait any longer!

Hi All!!

I did the 14 miler that I was supposed to do yesterday today! It felt really good.

Jen, How do you like your Yucatans? I am fixing to get another pair! I just
love them!

I can't wait til TOT! We are going to have so much fun!!

I have been a Vikings fan since the late 60's early 70's, though I do occassionally root for the Titans. The Titans are as close as a home team as Nashville, TN is about an hours drive. As for the Cowboys...Nope, noway, nada, did I say no, never did like them...Sorry Robert!

Dave hates having his picture taken, that is why he is trying to hide in the back. He was hoping nobody would recognize him:lmao:

Erica:)

Erica:)

That's ok, not everyone can have great taste in football teams.:lmao:

I have liked them since I was knee high to a grass hooper. Back to the Roger the Dodger days:)

Great job on your long run. I am having MRI on Fri on my L knee. Hopefully nothing serious and will just have to rest and do some PT. I don't do well with MRI's so they gave me som Valuim:thumbsup2 I will be in fine shape. Linda has to drive me to the hospital.

WOW! I look up and it's Wednesday! No way will I be able to catch up.

Sunday I ran 1:20:00 and felt pretty good. Tuesday was a 6 mile run. I, stupidly, went out in 88 degree weather to run. Luckily, 90% of the run was in shade but it was none-the-less hot. Today was a 3 mile run in a crisp 91 degree heat! :rotfl2: Well, let's just say I ran it. My legs were pretty heavy. I have 12 miles to run on Sunday but I have no idea how I'm going to get a 12 mile run in this city. I guess a couple circles around the town ought to do it! :rotfl:

Erica: :thumbsup2 nice job on the 14 miler!

Kristi, Leana: nice runs! :thumbsup2

Jackie: :wizard: for your foot! I hope it doesn't start to hurt again!!

TXAng: you deserve nice shorts that look good and are comfortable! Don't skimp on them!

Renee: sorry to hear about the stonker run. You'll do great the next time!

nepatsfan Bill: great job getting out there for that walk! You are already a winner for doing that. I walked the Leadville Heavy Half Marathon in July which started at 10,000 feet above sea level. I'm used to races and working out. My sister is not. I was so proud of her for doing this with me! You should be too! I hope the doc can give you some relief for that back. We are all routing for you! Can't wait to meet you in ToT!!!

WWDave: soooo, I'm waiting. I don't see much trouble that you've stirred up this week. Are you trying to ease back in to the trouble making or just laying low to make one final assault before the weekend? Can't wait to see what you decide to do!!

Calcio: as always :love2:

For those I missed who are injured or ill: pixiedust:

To those running races this weekend: GO! GO! GO!

I hope everyone has a lovely evening.

Yeah! My man is moving on to next week. Someone posted his video from last night on youtube and I made everyone in the office watch it. several times. I know I have a problem, but with 184 days until the next indycar race, I have to get my fix somehow.

Jackie, glad to hear your family voted! I think this could be huge for indycar racing. Also good news that you should be off crutches soon. If it helps, I feel like I didn't lose nearly as much endurance as I thought I would after basically 12 weeks off. I couldn't do 10 miles, but I could do a 5K without any problem and you were in much better shape than I was when you got injured. Take it slow, but I doubt it will take you that long to rebound.

I spent 8 hours in computer training today. My brain is tired and I'm going to veg out for the rest of the evening.

I found the bad boys post. I must say there is no such thing as laying low. They are out there.
:joker: :stitch: :tiptoe: ::cop:
Hi everyone, it is such fun to see things moving steadily. I can't believe ToT weekend is soon. It will be such fun.

I have finally managed to get going again. It looks like my Mom is making good progress which leaves me feeling better about getting back to a routine. I put in a lovely trek and it feels great! to get back to it. I can't wait to have more mileage under me than ahead of me. We leave in a couple weeks for cruise/vaca and ending in ToT event. It won't be long!

Stay healthy, get strong, take your vitamins, keep on keepin' on.

The WISH Team Calendar is up-to-date. Anyone wanting their events listed, please post there and check yours in case I got it wrong.

Good evening everyone.

4 miles on the plank this evening.

Not a good day today. Shadow went to the bridge this morning. The vet couldn't get the bleeding stopped in his nose, and given his other health issues we decided to do what was best for the old boy. God speed Shadow.

Vic: so sorry about your pet. Sending pixie dust your way....

GOOD EVENING TEAM

Sorry I have been so MIA, it just feels wierd to post when I have no training to report. I am definately addicted to running and racing, because I am going through what is probably short of depression over not being able to train for anything right now.:sad2:

I do have fun news  !! We were supposed to run RFTT with a friend who has never done a 10K before. Obviously I can't do it so DH wasn't going to, which made me sad cause I REALLY wanted to go to food and wine festival, it's a tradition for us as our adult weekend away!! Anyway DH signed up to run today with our friend  Although I am sad not to be participating, I am very excited to be a spectator!! It willl be fun to be there cheering on DH and all of the WISH team.

Happy Training everyone!!

I am sorry to hear about Shadow. I know how hard it is to loose a lifetime friend. We had that issue a few years ago. Best Wishes:hug:
