Happy Monday!!!

Glad that everyone had great lr's this weekend. It seems like the injuries are starting to heal themselves--now just to fight off the sickness and the coldness, we'll be good to go! We're supposed to get snow showers this week in Ohio

glad I bought a cutie Helly Hansen moisture wicking/water repellent jacket and hat at the Puffins Roost in Norway in Epcot. Now when I run in the cold, I can think of Epcot and Norway and kringlas--I plan on having at least 5 of them in January!
MelR--

on your 3rd place finish!!! That is awesome!!!

Is that your last adventure race of the season, or do you have more? What exactly is an adventure race? Trail running and biking? Is there more? You are my hero!!
Mel--Good luck trying to figure out your eating issues. I found that I crave steak for dinner the days of the lr's, I guess I need more protein. The funny thing is, I rarely eat red meat and especially steak, so for me to crave it, is so weird!! Can you believe the Bucs win yesterday? When I saw the highlights, I thought of you. Did you see my boy break Stallworth's record? Now, he is a big

!

I know you can relate to this, Stephen is trying to figure out a game plan for the playoffs and marathon weekend.
Sunny--thanks for the Slimfast tip, I'm going to try that next weekend. I don't think I have very good eating habits after I run, most of the time I forget to eat or drink when I get home and when I do eat, it's usually a bagel and a Diet Coke. Not smart, huh?
Colleen--Sorry about the mean CM. We've called for late check-outs in the past, and we've always been told to call the day before you need the late check out. I guess it depends on how busy the mousekeepers are that morning. I think we're going to add it to our requests now too, but don't get stressed out about it.
Heather--I'm glad that your hip is feeling better! When you are in Orlando for your conference, can you take some time to hit the parks? In the words of Napoleon Dynamite: "lucky"!

for the race packets!!!!
My 4 miles on Saturday was okay, not the greatest, but okay. I learned that I can't eat cereal before I run, guess I'll stick to the bagels, bananas, and granola bars.

My total time was 47:40--1st mile was 11:21, 2nd mile 12:33 (that's when the cereal and milk hit my stomach

), 3rd mile was 12:15 and fourth was 11:30. All in all okay. Do you guys feel that you do a little worse on your taper back weeks? I think I prepare mentally more for a distance I've never done before, so by the time Saturday comes, I'm raring to go. But on taper back weeks, I think, "oh, I've already done this before" and I don't take it quite as seriously. I don't have a taper back week until Dec. 10, so maybe I'll have good lr's between now and then.
I did have an inspiring moment walking back to the house after my run, I didn't time my milage right and I ended up being about a half mile from home. While I was walking, I started looking back through my runs on my Garmin. All I can say is wow. The progress I've made was surprising and it made me feel great. The kicker was on August 23 I did 4 miles and my time was 57:something. So between Aug. 23 and Nov. 12--2 1/2 months, I shaved 10 minutes off my time! I was so psyched by that, when I got home, I took Hines on a 3 mile walk.
I better get off here, I have all the work that I ignored on Friday, plus today's stuff.

on training!!
Krista
