Sorry, no pictures of the Pig yet. I spent last night doing laundry for our vacation on Thursday. I was so focused on the Pig, this vacation kind of snuck up on me, I am so not ready!! I have no idea what I'm going to pack yet and I still have to do my last minute Target run. We basically only have tonight and tomorrow, our flight leaves Thursday at 8:40pm, Stephen is dropping me off at work and picking me up as my work is on the way to the airport. We have to drop Hines off at the kennel tomorrow night for "camp" (that's what I've been telling him

), so I know I'm going to be

for the rest of the night. Sorry to babble!!
Jackie and Dave--I hate to say it, but the Flying Pig definitely rivaled Disney, comparing half marathon to half marathon. Granted nothing can compare to or be better than the running down Main Street USA and through Cinderella Castle, but other than about a mile through the Magic Kingdom and less than a mile through Epcot, the rest of the half course is all on highways--not very exciting at all. The Flying Pig half course is very nice, in my opinion nicer than Disney (taking out MK and Epcot out of the equation), the course is in downtown Cincy, across the river and through Northern Kentucky, back through downtown and up over a park that has amazing views of the city, down the hill, looking at the city and then back to downtown. The course runs through neighborhoods and people are out on their door steps or hanging out of windows cheering for you. The support was about equal, with both courses having water stops every mile, Disney does have characters, but not nearly as many as I thought there would be. I can only remember seeing characters at mile 3 (Peter Pan) and then in the Magic Kingdom. I don't remember seeing any in Epcot. I'm not knocking Disney at all, it's a good half marathon course, but I thought the Pig was great. I don't really know how to explain it, but they are both great marathons to run. Maybe the Pig means a lot to me because I was born in Cincinnati and I have lived my whole life here (other than 4 years in college). Another factor that may have made the Pig better was I better mentally prepared for the 13.1 miles. During Disney, I knew I could do the distance, but mentally I had never been through such a long distance. For the Pig, I knew what 13.1 miles would feel like physically and mentally and I was better prepared for it. Does that make ANY sense??
Jodi--You can definitely dry your shoes in the dryer, just take your insoles out so the underneath can get completely dry.
Lynne--Somehow, I think you'll be fine.
