Try and talk to the owner/manager of the Fleet Feet. We have a store near us and buy all our running shoes there. We had one of the employees tell us that you couldn't return shoes without the box and receipt. The owner said there was no such policy. Lynne got a pair of shoes that caused to legs to hurt every time she ran in them. I talked to Ed (the owner) and he said to bring them back even though the had been owned for more than a month and were slightly dirty. Ed's thinking a happy customer is a repeat customer and that they are the ones that fitted you to the shoe. You can't tell how a shoe will perform just by walking around the store. You have to wear them in real training situations.
Hope this helps and you get some satisfaction from the store.

) as my legs never get cold during athletic activity, but my upper body does, especially my hands. Given it will be cold at the start but warm up a lot, on the legs I would wear the junky-est sweats in the world into the corrals over my shorts and toss the sweats just before the start. The legs will be chilly for a mile or so but once the engine fires up they'll be plenty warm.
I'm thinking I might be doing nine miles on the TM tomorrow. Not just because of the cold but because we are supposed to get some mixed precip this evening and it might be messy tomorrow. I guess I'll just see what happens. I don't think I have enough movies for nine miles!
) I went to Hawaii by myself. Now, today that would not seem like such a big deal I suppose, but back then, for a very small town girl like me, that was a huge deal! But I digress...Anyway, my mother was very patriotic and really wanted me to go visit the Arizona Memorial. So I said I would. As we were landing in Honolulu the pilot told us to look out the window and we could see the Arizona. So I looked down and got to see it from the air. Which was a good thing. Since as it turned out, the memorial was closed for renovations the week I was there. Figures.
Oh well. Some day when we go to Hawaii to do the Ironman.....Ha ha ha!
And you got your packet to boot! YAY!
