Mel: WTG with your 8 miler & a PR! I'm glad to hear you've had some comfortable LRs--you deserve them. And good news about your Mom moving around, too. How was the Disney day trip.
Morgan: 5K IS a big deal--you're challenging yourself, and every race is a challenge and a reminder of just how dedicated you are. Remember, we all want to hear about your event!
Anne: It's cool to know I'm not the only mushy one here. Also cool that you're consistently getting in your XT!
Lily: I so wish you were going to be around for the Cleveland marathon so I could meet you. We just got our hotel room, and I'm getting excited. Thanks for keeping up the list, btw, as I like knowing who's going where--especially as I so often don't!
Stephanie: Yea for Steve & a 6 miler on the TM, and bigger yea for you--not only for Zumba but for tennis in the unseasonable AR cold followed by running. Your whole family sounds athletic!
TXAng: I hope you choose the perfect 5K(s) for you. Does this means you won't be at the Disney marathon weekend?

On the upside, I hear good things about the San Antonio RnR event.
Aloha Jeff: I hope you had fun with the clinic. They're lucky to have you. And WTG on your "not-a-half because I didn't feel like it" extended run.
John: Hope your 8 miler went well!
Terri: That Pike's Peak guy was seriously Goofy! Speaking of serious, those are some great goals. Good luck with them & with your new position.
Cecilia: Once again, you (and Anne) are one of our voices of wisdom, helping keep everything in perspective!

I can't imagine you not being a marathoner--I kind of assumed you were born that way.
Allyson:
for moving on to W4. You're absolutely ready to do it, to challenge yourself, and the spring weather is just further encouragement.
Claire: I see a certain logic in starting with the RW before moving to the R; it might help me improve my time. I worry that I'll get in the RW comfort zone (where I am already) and not move to the straight run later on. Eh, but what fun is it if I don't experiment? How'd your date go (wink, wink)? You know, that innuendo doesn't really work when we're talking about running. And wow, with your schedule! Between your physical WOs and your intellectual ones, you're always busy.
Tracy: Great job with your 8 miler--you're gonna have such fun at the Minnie. What's your goal pace, if you have one? And I second your nomination of Scott as the official photographer! Those of us who aren't going want to see the event documented for posterity!
Maura: Evil, evil taxes, preventing you from enjoying the weekend. At least the weather seems to have cooperated with your need to be indoors. About the Minnie. I, too, am a pragmatist about things, so your bottom line--at least you'll be in WDW--is spot on!
Mike: Hey, hey, hey! Watch you say about the Tigers--remember, even kittens have claws!
Jackie:
for doing your miles, uphill and when you weren't feeling particularly motivated. Forget the time, forget the hills, you conquered your resistance!
Jen: Butt Kicker is earning its name. Glad you made the miles & didn't need to boot & rally. Pick up a little gas station snack for me too, huh?
CarolA: I'm glad you got to play with your Garmin for your 4-miler. Hey, whatever tempts you to get out there, right? Do I get to join the old & slow club...because I'm right with you in pace.
Christa: Wow on your bike ride--& in windy conditions. Thanks for the update about your mom...she sounds like a strong woman. And I'm sure she looks as hot as her wigs.
Vic: Just curious. How many Sunday runs in your future do you anticipate, what with the new HDTV tempting you?

After seeing your TV, I have screen envy.
Scott: That's some impressive mileage & pacing there. I think your biking is really benefitting your running. Or maybe it's that tv-watching schedule? That must be it--active rest.

Maybe Vic should invite us all over to his place for a Sunday afternoon to test my training theory? And now I need to know: if Subway's White Chocolate Chip Macadamia Nut cookie is second best, what's first?
Martha: Um, in my household it was me who absolutely needed a new TV a couple of years ago to watch the Superbowl. Just the commercials, of course. But mostly for movies, movies, movies! I should have you as my voice of reason. But I live with DOOD, and my inner-guy taps into his outer-guy....
Amy: Oh, I hope you're feeling better now. You have had a string of aches, pains, bad runs, even though you've had some good ones in there too. You know what's best for you in terms of the race, and that's staying pain-free and avoiding injury.

Plus, you and Scott are going to have a blast at the Minnie, regardless of the pace. And I truly believe all the work you've been doing will affect your pace in the long haul, maybe just not in time for the Minnie (although I'm still crossing my fingers for you). P.S. I know you made some changes after the Goofy, including PT I believe, so maybe that's affecting your runs?
Kristi: Oooh, how great. Look at Zack's stride & his smile, not to mention his lime green hat. (Is he our youngest WISHer participating in events on his own steam?) Life IS Good.
Stacie: Remember to stare in the face of 7 and 8 miles...and laugh. The distances can't you back--you're a WISHer and a pretty princess!
Carrie: What would TM nirvana feel like, if there were one? The sense that you could keep going those extra minutes, yes, that's good. Would it feel like you weren't really there at all? A Not-Being on the TM? Hmm...that makes sense, but doesn't seem to be all that different from most people's reactions to the TM, though. Nirvana certainly doesn't make a case for TM running, does it?

I stil
Angie: I agree with Carrie's statement about hydration. That's usually what my problem is if I'm cold. That said, Lisa's answer is super impressive & I learned something new.
Jen: Thanks for the Eye to Eye information!
Judy:
for being ahead of the sweepers. As for the ice cubes, have you ever tried putting your tongue on a cold lamppost?
FireDancer: Thanks for your assessment of Elite Racing; it's always good to have WISHers pointing out the good ones for us!
Leana: What a busy fitness week you have coming up! It sounds like you enjoyed your boot camp fitness assessment--Wow! And the Sun Run 10K sounds overwhelming with all the participants. But also fun!
Liz: Wimps don't do 3 miles on the TM. You're just particular about your weather--join the club. But I never feel the need to do housework as a trade-off. Good luck with your speed work tonight.
As for me: My SR today ended up being 4 miles, which I was pretty happy about as that's now 4 miles I can run without a walk interval. I followed it with some biking, and I've noticed how much happier my knees are since I've been adding XT to my WOs, biking & otherwise. So thanks WISHmates for the team challenge, which is increasing my strength & endurance.
Tonight DOOD & I are attending an academic talk by Jean Howard, "Beatrice's Monkey: Staging Exotica on the Early Modern Stage" (his field, not mine). So I'll be working on another form of my endurance--listening to the long academic talk. Hopefully the talk will include pictures and a lively Q & A. If not, I might have a coughing fit & have to excuse myself. Regardless, I've been promised ice cream for going.

That's right, treat me like a 5 yo and I'll be good.
