Good afternoon WISHers!

Hoping everyone is having a fine Sunday afternoon.

Out for 3 miles this morning. Felt good.

Mel – WTG with the 8 miler! Have fun at the World tomorrow.

Martha – I’ll clean your house, but you have to dust my Diecast cars.

Craig - I won't say anything to Marilyn. :)

Morgan – WTG with the 3.1 miler!

Anne – Glad to hear you’re getting your walking in.

Lily – Have a great TM workout tomorrow.

John – Have a great run tomorrow.

Terri – Good luck tomorrow.

Allyson – You’ll do fine.

Tracy – WTG with the 8.1 miler!

Jackie – WTG with the 3.28 miler!

Jen – WTG with the 7.35 miler!

Jeff - WTG with the 12.5 miler!

:)

I am such a wimp. I really didn't want to go out there and train today. I mean it's 50 and windy....:lmao: (All of you with snow are allowed to laugh at the southern idiot!) I don't think I could ever get outside in some of the conditions you post.:worship:

Jackie. 13.16 is FAST! Trust me.

As for me, I did convince myself to go. I think it was mainly the "I wanna play with the Garmin" that got me out the door, but whatever. Todays' was 4 miles and I did it 48.18. That's like an Olympic record for old and slow folks!:rotfl:

My plan this week has five mile runs on the TM.:scared1: This should be interesting.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Hey everybody! Hope you are all having a HAPPY Sunday! I just got back from my 20 mile bike ride. It is beautiful here…but you know there is a pollen problem when the bike tires are GREEN at the end of the ride!

Mel – WTG on the AWESOME run! I love PRs! I am also sending you extra PD for your mom. I know this is hard on you.

Morgan – I remember my 1st 5k and it was a huge deal. I still think they are a huge deal. Be proud! Any run that is completed is cool! Have fun!

Maherae – WTG on getting those Wos in. I think the hardest part of working out is getting out the door!

Stephanie – I also think sitting still is cruel punishment! Those zumba classes sound fun. Good luck on the LR.

TXAng – All those races sound so much fun. I WISH I could race every weekend…The darn $$$ issue! HaHa!

Terri – glad you had fun. Pikes peak has had a double for a long time and I think doing that would be more “GOOFY” than WDWs Goofy. I have several friends who have done it. Dude it is hard.

OK Gotta go take a shower. Will continue to catch up later. BTW for everyone who has asked about my mom…Thanks. She is doinf OK. Not great but OK. The tumor is shrinking but they are going to continue chemo and do another CAT scan. So that is the latest. She is a trooper and has some HOT wigs. She looks so good in them.

Christa - nice 20 miler today! I hear you on the green tires...one can only imagine how much of that stuff we breathe in while working out. :scared:

Carol - So how do you like that Garmin? I luckily caught a break today and got out there before the winds got too bad...nice job getting your steps in!

Big Vic - So are you totally messed up when the races are on Sunday night?? Feel a little empty today?

Jen - Sorry about that weather, but major kudos for getting in another TM run :)

Jackie - Hate those sneaky uphill runs...great job getting in the miles though!

Tracy - Great job with the LW...that's a solid pace and should have you ready for the Minnie :)

Claire
- How'd the 4 miler go today??

TXAng - nice work on finding the 5k's, seems like a great plan. And I say GO FOR IT regarding the Rock N Roll San Antonio. I'd really like to go to that one, but it's not in the cards this year. I'm a HUGE fan of the Elite series events though...they know how to put on a race :goodvibes:

Stephanie - Did you get the LR in? Hope the tennis match was fun :)

Mel
- Hope the trip to WDW was good today!! Nice job with the PR!!

Amy - Hope you are feeling better today buddy. You are gonna have no problems at the Minnie, so just take things in stride.

Scott's World - I wondered if the 30 on the bike would have any negative effect on my run this morning, but luckily it didn't :goodvibes: It was actually speedy for me and I felt great out there as far as running goes...I did the 10 miles in 1:23:44 (8:22). Not real sure where the energy and stamina came from to complete two great days of training, but I'll take it! Gonna chill and watch some golf (even though it's kind of boring...ok a lot boring...but it IS the Masters, kinda like the Daytona 500...some events you just have to tune in to) and then enjoy the rest day tomorrow.

Have a great day everyone!!

Yeah, no kidding. Stayed up late to watch Dale Jr. come in seventh. :confused3 Got to watch my first race in HD though. Our 18 year old TV I had in the NASCAR shrine died on Thursday. So, I HAD to go out and buy this.

But that's ok. In two weeks I'll be sitting in the stands at Talladega. Haven't been there in quite a few years, so I'm looking forward to it. :thumbsup2

Dude...it looks like Kenny Rogers is popping out of that screen!! Sweet picture!

You'd think that living appx. 2 hours from Talladega would mean that I have been there, but unfortunately I've only made it to AMS. Have a great time when you go!

:thumbsup2 Wow Scott

From this last series of reports I suspect we can hand you the title of "fastest wish male." Steve and Optimator Mike may be close, but 10 miles at 8:22 per mile, AFTER all the training you've done in the past few days leads me to suspect you could complete the Minnie 15K well under 8 mpm, somewhere in the low 70's.

Great work there.

Craig

Big Vic: what is it with men and those TVs? I totally threw DH for a loop many years ago when we lived in AZ. He wanted a new TV and we made not much more than poverty level (he was in grad school). I was tired of being the voice of reason so I told him I couldn't give him a reason he couldn't buy the big-screen TV he wanted. Everytime for a week that he brought it up I told him to buy it b/c I couldn't come up with a reason not to buy it. Confused the he** out of him for a week.......then he bought one. When will I learn? Um, what are Diecast cars?

Scott: :worship: YOU are amazing.

gatorphipps: WTG on the bike ride!! You go girl.

CarolA: whatever it takes to get you outside. Play with the Garmin, face the wind and overcome it, whatever. WTG on getting out there! That's half the battle.

mkymsehi: let me get this straight. You want to do 8 so you do 12+. Are you nuts?

Jackie: sure, blame Carrie!! hahahahahaha. Whatever it takes to get out there! You go girl.

Jen117: so sorry to hear it's still snowy and icey in WI. Lived there for 3 years. Not sorry I'm gone. That weather was something else.

laxdef69: a 73 minutes run with the wind in your face no matter which direction you went AND you swam for 30 minutes? :worship: Boy do I feel humbled.

Have a great evening everyone!!

Scott: According to what everyone is saying you will be the first WISHer cross the finish line!!!.
I nominate you for the official WISH finish line photographer, what do you think?

Hey all! Well, I got a run in today, but will not even consider it a LR. Scott let me sleep in this morning, a rare occurance at our house. So, I took full advantage of it. Then I went and had a tennis "lesson" with my sis. She teaches tennis and luckily she'll teach me for free ( can't afford the $50/hr she charges! ) So, I'll not be the next Anna Kournikova, but we had fun. And then after the 45 minute on the court, I ran 3.5 miles. 80 minutes of cardio felt great!

Scott--all I can say is WOW!!! :worship: Now I totally expect you to fly by Scott and I in January. Would you mind slowing a bit to chat with us for a bit?;)

Claire--Zumba is a fitness class that combines latin beats, hip hop and some african beats into a fun 60 minutes of cardio. Here's a youtube link to the spot that was done on the Today Show!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5Hxw_Jf2B4
They've turned exercise classes into a party--now if I can just convinced the GM of the gym to install a margarita machine in the studio it'd be perfect!

I really need to try and learn real names vs screen names. I think I need flashcards! LOL!Allyson
When I'm stuck I open the thread with the WISH Team list at the same time I've got the other open and work off of that. Mel's done a great job keeping it up-to-date. I'd be lost w/o it.
We're also seriously considering the Rock N Roll Half Marathon in San Antonio this November. I really wanted my first Half to be a Disney race, but we're not sure when we're going to get back to Disney, so I think this one would be fun. Plus it's local-ish, which might be better for us to see what we'll feel like after a long-distance race.
I think there are going to be a few WISH Teammates at that one. Maybe even a couple who didn't sign up on the calendar too?

It turned out to be a complete waste of a weekend w/o wise. Got housework done though so during the week I can concentrate on the steps. Have a great week everyone.

Ugh, Monday...I've begun to use Monday to weigh in. Ugh.

Hi guys...no training to report from me today. WOke up in the middle of the night feeling really ill so I wisely chose to put the 10 miler off until tomorrow :). Lazy day for me and I hope it will help me to have a good run. I did manage a quick 35 minute bike ride Saturday...got 9 miles in!

Vic: Nice lair you have there! And I thought Scott's lair was pretty impressive  . Awesome TV!!!

Stephanie: Great job with tennis and a solid run!!! Sounds like a fun day of exercise! :thumbsup2 No worries about Scott passing you guys next year  ...he runs with me and I'm not exactly a speedster ;).

Lily:  for weigh-in!

Martha: I happen to know you had a great week of workouts :). WTG! Are ya' getting excited for the Minnie!!??!! :cool1:

Christa: :grouphug: for your awesome Mom. She's been in my thoughts and I'm sending tons of pixie dust and well wishes to her! Glad she's rockin' the wig! Love her spirit! Great ride btw! I can't wait to get a real long ride in one of these days!

Mel: YAY for another PR! You are doing SO awesome girl!!!!

CarolA: :thumbsup2 Whatever gets ya' out the door! WTG on getting it done!

Jen: Thanks for the pics of your adorable girls. They are so lovely :).

Jackie: I think you had a Great run considering the hills!!! WTG :)

Scott: ANother fabulous week for you! And I know you are speedy...I'm gonna' cramp your style I think ;). But hey...thanks for slowing down for me at the races. I do appreciate it! No way I can keep that 8:22 pace. The way I've been feeling out there I'll be happy to keep a 9:22 pace to be perfectly honest. But it's all about the fun at disney races!!! :goodvibes Thanks for sticking with my slow butt ;).

Martha:

I got the supersize too, (It's a guy thing) LOL :lmao::rotfl2::happytv: I haven't gone High Def yet, not enough stations offered here.

The sticker says it all.

After The Masters concluded, I took the Princesses and their friends out for a hour on the tennis court. Four on one is a great cardio workout if you're looking to cross train. :yay:

Zack ran a kids race to benefit our local soup kitchen yesterday:

SoupKitchenKidsRace2.jpg

They didn't get medals - just cool Life Is Good running stickers. :goodvibes

YEA ZACK!!!
Way to go!

I ran 2 miles in 18:02 yesterday. Treadmill speed training. I started at 6 and moved it up to 7.4 (8 min/mile) and kept it there until I hit 2 miles. I do not think I could have gone much farther without the danger falling off the back of the treadmill.

Scott - I am so impressed that you can go that fast for so long! And without the treadmill pulling you along! You are going to FLY at Minnie!

Vic - Nice TV. I like the Nascar shrine as well. I have a friend in Jacksonville that had a Nascar shrine but it was completely dedicated to Dale. I think he finally painted the black walls red last year.

Hey guys! Sorry I went missing last week! I can't catch up on everyone, but here's a go...

Mel...Glad you mom is doing ok. Great job on the PR for 8!!! Way to go! A day to WDW! I'm jealous!

Morgan... A 5K! You go girl!!! That is fantastic. That is a HUGE accomplishment!

Anne...Yay for consistency!!!

Allyson...You can do it! Stay focused and stay positive! I ended up doing Week 4 twice, but it's because my mind got the best of me. If you tell yourself you can do it...you will! :thumbsup2

Maura and everyone else w/ snow... :beach:

Kristi...Great kids races!!! How cute! Love those stickers!

Amy...Sorry you didn't get your run in! I hope you are feeling better today and are able to have a fabulous run!

Scott...You speed demon! You are doing awesome! Way to go!

For me...Really, not much. I'm been in a bit of a slump. My W/Rs got cut short on both Wed and Friday last week and I didn't get in my LW/R on Sunday. Overall last week was just horrible. I really hope to get back on track this week, but my brain will be the challenge. I'm so excited for the Minnie! I started making our shirts for the week and we finally bought our new suitcase, so overall I'm super excited for the trip. I'm excited for the Minnie 15K itself, but these next two L W/Rs have me really really nervous! I've got 7miles scheduled this Sunday and 8 for the next. It just seems so far! It's so new, I've never done this, never thought about it, never wanted to and yet...here I am. Staring 7 miles in the face and trying to overcome my fear and nervousness. I really hope by the time Sunday comes, I will be in a much better place mentally with that!

So, I'm back this week and hope to be a better team mate and able to check in more often!

I hope everyone has a great week!!!

Stacie

Catching up from last week. Forgive me, I have mush brain, so I knwo I will miss people. Too late doing taxes last night/this mroning. :guilty:

Jen117 - Love the pix! Thansk fo sharing! Hope yuo're gettign some of this sunshine even if it is cold.

Debra - TOo tired for good posture this am. Thanks fro teh rminder! SO glad the trip was what you needed and your runs were so good this week! Thanks for teh pc rom my favorite place!

Mel - Sending more :grouphug: and :wizard: .

Scott- COngrats on the lngest bike ride ever! Just keep rubbing it in that you run teh SC trail all teh time. ;) I keep telling myself that it probably wouldn't be the saem if I ran it again. Dh thinks we should have a WISH 20/10-miler meet there this year.

TXAng - Good choice on teh run. I know how hard taht is.

Maura -While 10 out of 10 WISHers will agree taht's right for others, we'd all atruggle to tell uorselves that. Sometimes hoding back is harder than getting out there. :wizard:

Me: Rained alld ay Saturday, so we did our 5-miler on teh TM  Wasn't I just there Thursday? Well, I did pick up teh pace a lot, though. At one point, I actually thoguht that I had hit TM nirvana. Then, I reminded myself that that's an oxymoron. I did hit a point where I didn't question whther I ocudl make another minute on the darn thing, though, so that was good. ;)

Great job Zach! Way to go!

Martha, my DH had the big TV envy too. I told him in December just go get it and be done with it. I figure if I support his splurges what can he say when I tell him I want to go to Disney again? :thumbsup2 And he bought at a store that had a promo that if the Boston Celtics win the championship our TV is free and it looks like we actually have a shot!

Allyson :)

Question...why am I always so cold after a run?
