Where is "The History of Death Magic" Book?
IIRC, it's in Stormdrain Tower at the far end of the Haunted Cave. You'll have to fight Lord Nightshade to get to it.

I think it is in the tower across from the Death school in the haunted cave in Wizard City.
So there's no confusion: The Death School is located in the Nightside, not the Haunted Cave. They are two different places.
 
Ok. I just went and spent every penny I had buying cards from the library. But I can't use them in battle or anything! Help?
 

On Krok Island, I have the quest for Stonechin and have been looking all over the Colosseum for him with no success. I have searched everywhere in the Grand Arena as well.

The Sun Gate, where the Arena Master says he is supposed to be, is not marked on the map. According to the map icon, he should be somewhere between the two passageways back into the Grand Arena street areas, but there is not even a gate there. I already defeated the Wild Sunbird, which is still inside the only open gate I can find in the Colosseum.

On top of that, I just got an error bug for the "Father Dearest" quest. Wonder if the two problems are related.

Those are one-time use gold treasure cards. You must click on the gold card tab in your cards and add them separately to your deck. To use one in battle, you must right-click one of your regular cards, click "discard", then click "draw", which will make one of your treasure cards available for use, providing you have enough pips to use it.

He is behind the Snake Gate I believe...2nd on the left side.

Sorry, yes, that was part of my confusion earlier. I was supposed to be in the haunted cave on Triton Ave, not trying to get into Nightside. Since I got that straightened out (thanks to my 12 year old!), I can finally get into Nightside. :wave2:

The last time I looked at the map for the Grand Arena some of the characters were shown in the wrong place. However the Arena Masters instructions were right. You just had to look at the obelisks by the gate and they would have a picture of the gates name (snake, sun, etc.).

So besides holding onto death shields and removing my offensive cards from the special deck any other tips?

I am myth, I assume I want 4 characters with me so I should leave my minion and related cards out of the deck as well?

Anything else I should take into consideration?

It's very easy to get pulled into battle from the sidelines. I go verrrrrrrry slowly in there, and try to let the monsters pass me before I try to move a little.

As a myth wizard, you'll likely find the first battle (right inside the entrance) to be amongst the most challenging. You'll be up against a slew of myth-based spectres with high resistance to your spells. Prepare your deck beforehand accordingly -- myth shields, myth prisms, etc. You can always take a moment to change it again once you're safely past them.

If you have a full team of 4, then there would be no place for your minion anyway, so use those card slots for spells you might actually use. If you have less than 4 on your team, however, you might consider keeping them in the deck.

Because you are in an instance, what one member of your team accomplishes, the whole group accomplishes. For example: not everybody has to talk to Marla on every occasion once inside. As soon as anyone does it, it counts for everybody and you should all then receive the next task. Knowing this can save your group a lot of unnecessary (and potentially dangerous) running around.

I did finally find Stonechin through the Sun Gate; the first gate on the left. When checking previously, I think the sign indicating the Mullethead character instead of Stonechin showed up in the entrance to that spot, which was why I missed it. But Mullethead may have actually been accessed through the Snake Gate after I finished with Stonechin. (Not sure about that; it got very confusing. I just remember opponents being in different locations than stated.)

Oops, my goof. It's still discarded automatically. I have trouble remembering the interface when it's not right in front of me.

Since it's so easy to get pulled into battle here, it's best if only one member of your team walks to the next task, rather than the whole group going. Then when that person gets there safely, the rest can teleport to him/her. Like LittleWoodenHead mentioned, the whole group will advance to the next task when one person completes the current one.
 
Looks like the next big update is tomorrow... :woohoo: although I didn't see a fix for Crimson mentioned specifically. It looks like they are adding some nice new things. The update list is huge.

Looks like Golden, Bev and myself may be making a grubb run saturday night.

Golden and Bev I could start at 7,8, or 9 (EST)and they tell us we need at least 2 hours, do those times work for you two? Then we start begging cat or dreamytime to lead us :rotfl:
 
I have to do the Grubb quest as well so if there is another group getting together, count me in.

I recently bought another card deck but I have found that my starter deck seemed to work better for me. Sure I can carry more cards with the second deck but my healing pixie never seems to show up anymore when I need her whereas with the starter deck she was always there. I try to keep the 0 - 3 pip cards in my deck since I don't really need the higher ones at this point. What is the best strategy for a card deck?
