Non-Disney Online Games (Wizard 101) Quest Tips & Help Thread!

Wow! I'm so far behind! I've just started Temple of Stroms Island!

Thanks everyone for the Grubb run, the other day. I'm not one who can have him staring at me from my book for days on end! LOL!!!

I am liking death school this time around. So far I have come up with these statistics on the death minion, who changes depending on how many pips you use:

1 ~ Etheral Servent, rank 1, 100 health
2 ~ Charmed Sprite, rank 2, 200 health
3 ~ Crypt Watchguard, rank 2, 300 health
4 ~ Ghoulish Retainer, rank 3, 400 health
5 ~ Summoned Soul, rank 3, 500 health
6 ~ Captive Banshee, rank 4, 600 health
7 ~ Living Scarecrow, rank 4, 700 health

That was as far as I got. I also found out the number of regular pips you can have is 7. It was weird that I got 7 regular pips in a row as my percentage is quite high. I might play around with it somemore to see how many power pips I can get, in order to see how far my death minion goes. If you got one everytime you should be able to get up to 14 pips.

So how does your minion stack up? I remember with fire it cost 3 pips and there was only one minion.

Fly :hippie:

Uh, huh. I started taking them this time around.

*****All you Life people******
Bc I didn't take notes last time (cough) I can't remember when we get Druid.
I BELIEVE I was in Mooshu. Is that right? I was going to put off Grubb so I only have to do it 1x. (hehe) But I don't think I can stand looking at it that long.

PLMK. Thanks!!:wizard:

Yes, I was most definitely in Mooshu when I got my Dryad. (Druid? giggle!)
I can't remember if it was before or after Sanctuary, but I'm thinking it was before. I was going to wait on Grubb until absolutely necessary but decided to change my mind and help people this past weekend. I am not fond of Grubb, and I'm not looking forward to seeing him again!

Well...geez....she's a TREE!!! :P
I am in the Temple of Storms now, lets see if I can hold off.
There are 3 of us playing together, so if they are willing to have Grubby on their homework list then I might just wait.
I don't mind the street fights as much as the LOUD BRIGHT tower. Egad...get him a swatch of Sherwin-Williams "Loch Blue"...I will spring to get it painted!!

:wizard:

Maybe you can help me...Ive never posted a question before, and feel totally lost!
I just joined Wizard 101, and I cant seem to keep from being killed in Golum TOwers by the robot guys...how do I get past them? and where can I find an easier list of helpful hints?

Updated to add:

8 ~ Ghostly Spector, rank 5, 800 health
9 ~ Enchanted Howler, rank 6, 900 health
10 ~ Crypt Walker, rank 6, 1000 health
11 ~ Risen Tomb Master, rank ?, health 1100

This is as far as I got so far. There appears to be some kind of bug, I could see the health and see the spell cast, but I could not see the minion :

Gee, Fly. What happened to your card pictures? Did your wizard have a little too much to drink before battle?

Wow, I have some catching up to do! I finally went ahead and paid tonight because I didn't want to miss the special price since no family plan came out. I need to get back to MooShu. I have to finish the last part of Krok. I can't wait to get back!

I personally wait until I am into Krok and have 2 potion bottles.
I had no problem on my Life person, at any level, because of all the heals.
But my fire person needed that little extra potioning between floors to make it.

Best of luck and welcome to the forum!!

LOL! At least you are ahead of me. Since I didn't choose to pay anything until Sunday, I'm just now in Krokosphinx. :lmao:

Number 2 is sad to see. :sad2: It is really bad in cases where the game actually forces you to do the instance again.

Wednesday September 10, we will be performing an update to include a few fixes to Wizard101.

This will require that we take down the servers, and you will be unable to play while we make these changes.

Wizard101 will be down September 10th from 7:00am Central Time until approximately 10:00am Central Time. If our downtime is going to be longer or shorter, I will post it here. The website will be online, so you can read some of our Creative Writing and view our Fan Art Gallery and Photo Album!

As for what we're doing during that downtime, here are the Patch Notes for the September 10th update.

1. The first position in a duel will no longer be targeted at a higher rate than the other positions. Target is now random but can still be affected by any spells that are cast on you to draw or deflect aggression.
2. Instanced quests have a new dynamic that decreases the amount of experience rewarded after repeating the entire instanced quest. Instanced quests such as Sunken City, Throne Room of Fire, Crimson Fields and other similar instanced quests will be worth 100%XP the first time you complete the quest, 50%XP the second time you complete the quest and 0XP the third time you complete the quest. You will still receive the full experience rewards for the individual duels, and you will still be able to earn badges and items.
3. All the shops in Marleybone now have names!
4. Lights that were previously not turning on to indicate there is a quest in that building, should now light when needed.
5. Cyrus Drake has been busy with his red corrector pen, and several spelling and grammar errors have been fixed.
6. Players can now re-use the dirt piles during the quest "Distressed Earth" in Ancient Burial Grounds
7. Sokkwi Keymaster has turned around and is no longer standing backwards in the Emperor's Retreat.
8. The "Great Forest Spirit" is now properly named "Oakheart"
9. When you exit the Temple of Storms Instanced Area, the quest 'Test of Strength' is properly removed from your quest log.
10. A few quests have been renamed, “Missing In Action" has been changed to "By The Old Mill", "Buckle Under Pressure" has been changed to "Make Some Plate" and "Rand's Bands" has been changed to "Spade Aid".
11. Wands that previously had a class restriction such as the Wand of Contemplation and Grum’s Staff of the Muse, have had their class restrictions removed.
12. Players can now teleport to friends who are in the Eyus Maximus instance.
13. The Lightning Bat pet name has been changed to Storm Bat.

Just a few changes, and I'll repost this in the commons if you want to comment.

Does this mean that if we dont do the last task of the instance we will always get 100% XP??

Ok the change in the experience points for repeating an instanced level is just wrong.

A lot of times we go back and help our friends through these areas. We should still get experience points every time we repeat these areas.

Everybody needs to post on the wizards home page message boards that we are unhappy with this change.

Sure now that we are paying lets make the game harder?

Who is with me on this?

Reading Dreamytime's post, she is trying to say to wait until you are a little further along in the game to try the Golem Tower run. It's ok to leave it in your notebook for a bit while you earn more experience and can then absorb more damage from the bad guys.

Krok was short for Krokotopia - an area you get access to after finishing Wizard City.

Sorry not with you on this one. While sad to see the change, I can rationalize why they are making it. It wouldn't surprise if there were already a bunch of Grandmasters running around and I would guess that they want to slow the maxing out of wizards a bit to maintain interest. The only thing that I do not like about the change is the timing. In my opinion, this is a significant change that should have been made and communicated the moment the game went live and not a week in. As long as KI continues to make new content available, I'm ok with waiting till Dragonspyre or beyond to get the Grandmaster title back.

Yes I think this is a move to slow the pace of the game down a bit. Even though those generous enough to help others are going to miss out on some XP, it does make sense what they are doing.

The reason I see the change as possibly detrimental is that it may make it more difficult for some to get together the teams they need to do some of these more difficult/unpleasant instance areas. The modification I personally would like to see to it is if you are there is a first-timer in your group that you get something, even if it was only a quarter of the original experience. I understand the desire to stop experience farming in these areas, but I do think it might cause trouble for others at least in part. The Zeke gear actually makes the possible ramifications of this even more obvious - no experience for helping others really and in many cases, no need for the gear dropped either.

I am not that upset by the change in the instanced areas. I would still redo them if I get the smaller experience (when helping friends).

Just my opinion.

Yes but they are saying the 3rd time through you get NO experience points. That is the part I don't like. We should still get something, is all I am saying.

I'm honestly fine with the change since they are still giving the experience points for the individual duels within the instance. I can understand their reasoning and I would still be willing to help out, even when it comes to not getting the instance's EP the third time.
