Yeah, though I remember it felt like an event when a certain movie was being aired. Today DVD and streaming made us spoiled, but when some popular or rare movie came on TV back in the day, you can be sure other kids you knew from school were all watching too.Having to watch sports live on tv or being out of luck.
And then there's TV Guide and/or the local TV directory to assist you. You get a brief description of a movie to base your decision. While the internet would later give you trailers and screenshots, you also didn't risk having the movie spoiled for you with the printed TV listing.
