With the recent Wegoshop mess...

We just placed a $79 order for next week with the Garden Grocer. I was very impressed when every e-mail was answered the same day. They also emailed us to tell me they were going to call me to make arranges for delivery. One of the owner's called but missed us. He left two phone numbers so we could reach him. His service thus far has been impressive. I anticipate all going well and I'll report back after we return hone.

Happy Holidays All!

I'm at VWL Dec 3rd - 10th. I looked at Wegoshop but even without reading this or other threads I didn't feel comfortable with them. I placed my order with Goodings.com. They only had a few items that I wanted from their order form, but I also sent a long list with brand specific items that I wanted delivered. They called me back and said they don't carry one brand item that I want and gave a choice of several other similar products. They said they will deliver between 4-6pm and leave it with the bell cap. The refrigerator items will be separated and kept cold. I will contact the bell cap for delivery to the room. I will let you know how everything turns out once we actually get our delivery.

okay so i booked wegoshop for sat 12/3 months ago ... and decided to keep my plans despite the mess ups.

i heard tonight from new owner -marge- confirming delivery day/time (saturday 8pm)

she was very anxious to get things done right

she knows i'm a DISboarder and she recently read all the posts here ... cant make a new business owner happy, can it?

so i'm giving them chance ... wish me luck
i'll post my experience 12/12.

... only 36 hours til our flight leaves and still a million things to do!

We have them booked for 12/4. We were advised by the current owners that the new owners will not be making Sunday deliveries.
I have tried to call and cancel, but the number I call is out of service. Do you have the new number?

i was given marge new owners cell #
407 432-5044

i assume its okay to post coz she said it was her business #

good luck ...

I hope all goes well for the new owners, it is hard taking over a business.

We are also using wegoshop for Jan 2nd. Business as usual. We have been so happy in the past with the service so I have no reason not to continue.

My friend went down on 11/18, used Wego and had no problem whatsoever. They arrived exactly when they said they would (within minutes of the designated time). I was in a panic back home, after reading the boards, and seeing all of the "bad press" the week that she was there.

Give them the benefit of the doubt - they said there was a family emergency, so maybe that was indeed what happened?? :confused3

If we go down without a car, we will use them next time.

Thanks for posting the number for the new owner.
I just called her and she will make our delivery on Sunday as planned. She did say that is trying to avoid Sunday deliveries because of church.
But after talking to her I think we are going to give her a shot and see what happens. I'll post with the results when we return next Saturday.

GardenGrocer looks great! Reminds me of Fresh Direct, a net-based grocery service we have in NYC which is fantastic! I like being able to see and pick exactly what I need. Prices are a little high, but still cheaper than renting a car or getting a towncar.

I'm sure a lot of us would appreciate folks posting current results using this company. Bad news has a way of getting overvalued here, and hopefully the problems will be temporary and minor. Either way, it will be good to know how the new owners do.

I arranged with Wegoshop last week and I know that it was Eric that contacted me. My trip is for 1/5 and he agreed to deliver that day. He did not tell me about any new owners.

I look forward to seeing posts about how this service is operating now. I am very nervous about this, since this is our first trip "home" since becoming members and our first trip to WDW without a rental car.

Everyone going in December -- Please post experience with Wegoshop.

Thanks.

35 days to go :goodvibes

Well it sounds like the new owner is trying to do the right thing.. I think that she can probably do very well just from word of mouth with some good deliveries!!!

(catshea, It's interesting that Eric didn't tell you it was being sold? He posted here the sale was effective 1/1/06, but that he was dealing with things for the new folks... So I think you should be fine.)

Glad to hear the new owner has stepped in now. We all look forward to folks' reviews, which I expect to be good as the new owner needs to make an impression on DISers. I still decided to cancel my wegoshop order for the upcoming trip to give www.gardengrocer.com a try. I'm happy to support a new business -- good to have competition -- and gardengrocer still needs a lot of support since it only started in August and no one on DIS seems to have tried them yet. Given that it has also choosen to become a sponsor on DIS, I have added reason to try this business at least once. Also, I like being able to see the exact items/brands available and the prices in advance. Yes the prices are a bit higher than Publix but I don't plan on a huge order (just hit near the minimum $50) and the $10 fee is very doable.

Since a lot of DVC folks check in on Sundays, the new owners may want to re-think not making Sunday deliveries. I would think that could cost them some business.

Maybe they can make the Sunday delveries all be after 5:00 or so.

Anyway good to hear people are trying it again. Can't wait to hear the reports and hope they are all great! :goodvibes

this is true -- we're going to try GardenGrocer in January because we're arriving on Sunday.

Well......I'm placing my order with them (WEGOSHOP.COM) on Monday for our arrival date of 12/16. I have emailed the owner and he has responded very rapidly two times to answer my questions and to confirm that there will not be any problems with our delivery. I was going to try the gardengrocer.com until I found out that they don't deliver beer. I gotta have my Miller Lite on my vacation after a long day at the park and the kids are in bed!!!!

GardenGrocer does deliver beer. I asked, because I didn't see it on their website. He told me that they'll deliver whatever you want, but can't advertise it on their site because of the liquor licensing laws.

I have used them in the past with no problems but I saw a post saying they apologized. Can not find the original post with the problem. Can anyone help with this. I was planning on using them in Jan, but now I am hesitant.
