Epic when raining

How is Epic on days when it rains most of the day. In the past, that would be a day I do universal studios since most things are indoors, but I got the date specific tickets when they first went on sale and now have concerns about what if it rains in the days I have tickets for.

yeah - many of the rides shut down for rain. Also if there is a lightning strike within a certain range of the park - like 6 or 10 miles - IDK

Even the carousel has shut down for lightning strikes as I understand it.

One article from the Motley Food looking at this from the investment side said " Just 4 of the 11 rides remain open during a weather delay" - this was a lightning strike situation.

This could easily be an hour every day in Florida - If ministry had a standby queue that might help a little as a lot of people would be waiting in that line or just get into it since things are closed.

One other issue is some of the queues don't have enough cover - for example Donkey Kong - when the line is long and you wait in the rain there is no cover - although it will be delayed in the rain as well. I waited in this 2.5 hours one morning and an hour of it was just in the rain uncovered.

This past Tuesday, there was a storm for about an hour. I took refuge in the portal at Darkmoore. It was a great opportunity to have a dark, rainy cloud over a dark themed land.

The portals aren't large enough to provide cover for the masses, but it did work. As the rain became more horizontal, guests squeezed In a little closer to the center. It was a fantastic breeze tunnel to cool off!IMG_20250513_150625215.jpg

Constellation Carousel was operating, but there was rain coming in from the sides. There were a couple of perimeter spots to sit if not in the queue, but didn't provide protection from the rain.

For whatever strange reason, there is nowhere to sit under shade and/or the elements.

This would be a perfect spot to put at least a dozen or more benches for those wanting to escape the rain or just watch the carousel. A missed opportunity that can be easily, and inexpensively, remedied.

I agree 100% - there are a ton of places like that throughout the park IMO.

I think its less a missed opportunity and more time constraints issue - they could not do everything.

I mean...it's a large shaded already built-in, centrally located, with great views using 2-sided benches. I feel this could be done in a matter of days even if they need to Tapcon/bolt into the concrete. 🤷‍♂️

True - its something I could do in a short time - but just hanging around watching (over 5 days) there is a ton of just little jobs going on. The maintenance folks are very busy - they don't even have the splash pad working yet - that seems easy.

So the couple of hours you spend doing that - your not doing something more important in the scheme of things.

Another example is there needs to be more benches with shade around the fountain and maybe benches with shade at the outer rim of it facing the fountain as well - depends on how that affects the view - but the seats around there with shade are hard to score. When they have 30,000 people a day (that is the target for the first year) its going to be a lot worse.

Anyway - I totally agree with you - I think there are just a lot of bandwidth issues. For all I know they have a warehouse full of benches they just need to get around to it.

The benches facing outward from the inner rim of the large fountain ring are a head-scratcher for sure. I did enjoy the umbrella for a few minutes, but they do impede the view. Maybe they are retracted each evening to allow guests a better view of the fountain(s)? It sort of seems like an ad hoc solution.

I thought I heard the splash pad got working yesterday. I don't have any confirmation of it, but maybe today someone will show it.

You're probably right.... prioritizing resources right now in operational capabilities supersedes some lower priority projects.
