With the announcement of the THV....will they make another

announcement about sales opening back up for SSR? Does anyone want to speculate whether the price per point is what it is right now? I know when we added on at AKV Aug. 22nd our guide told us he could still get us some small add on contracts at SSR for I think 101 per pt. I wonder if the current SSR owners will be offered any specials or first dibs to add on more points. I have a friend that is interested in becoming a member and they were looking at AKV but now they are thinking maybe SSR. I told her I didn't know what was happening for sales only that they were adding the THV. I know there are lots of SSR resales too...so who knows what will happen. All I know is that I am very thankful to have my 300 SSR points.

I dont know what DVC will do in regards to new sales through DVC but I bet its going to "help" resales of SSR. However, I dont think its going to be enough to give it a price boost all that much. Instead I think THVs will help move some of those (and there are a lot) resales out there..... just my thought

Yes, they will need to reopen SSR sales for the THVs.

I would expect a similare price/incentive package relative to AKV as was offered this spring. I'd think they would sell around the same pricing as AKV - with possibly an incentive a couple of dollars lower than AKV just as before.

Some announcement should be coming soon. They may not want to open sales until they have a model to view and that may not happen until the THVs open on June 1, 2009. When VWL began sales, the resort had already been open for a couple of months.

Hey again!! LOL yeah I really wonder what will happen. I do think that the addition of the THV is a great thing for all the resales. I guess we wait and see...................... I am sure I will see you again on those THV threads.

Just a guess but I would imagine that what ever incentives and price are being offered at AKV would also be offered with the new SSR points.

I am also assuming that the reason DVC is not starting to sell the THV/SSR phase 4 points is that to direct sell in some of the states there is a % completion requirement which and it would be inconvenient and a regulator hazard to try to manage it state by state. With the prefab construction of THV I would think that they would be past that point by mid November at the latest. It does seem a little counterintuitive that BLT will be done after THV but is selling before THV, but this is because THV’s start to finish is less than ½ the time of BLT.
