With all this talk of upgrades...

With all this talk of upgrades, I assume this happens within the same resort? Meaning that if we are staying at POP and ask for a possible upgrade at the front desk (off season) we'd get prefered building?

If we got upgraded by DIS, it would be because the site was full and they needed to make some room and we'd be upgraded into another resort.

Don't get me wrong, I know it is rare but am trying to better understand the system. I plan on being here a while.

You're right. Upgrading at the resort will be within the same resort. We got upgraded at AKL a few years back and it was great! That's the only time we've gotten an upgrade, and the only time I asked. The CM said she had already upgraded us since we were so patient when another guest came up while we were checking in and interrrupted our process for about 5 min.
