DH ask me tonight how much money I would need for my WDW trip? I said well I have not done any planning, pricing, nothing yet. This will be a solo trip mainly. (DD will come and stay a week, she already has her AP, so all I need for her is airfare) It does not really matter to me where I stay,as long as I am on Disney Property.

This $4,000 is to cover all expense.

One AP for me.
Airfare for two
Disney Resort
Food
Entertainment
Shopping
No rental car

So have fun and help plan my trip! Where would you stay and for how long?

Hint: I would like to go for 3 weeks! :yay:

I'd have to cut my trip in half if I only had $4000! Seriously, our room at the Poly costs that. When you add in 2 APs, food, souveniers, and plane fare I'm looking at much more.

I would spend all that I want in one to 2 days, go home, save the rest. :teeth:

Based on an AP being $400, airfare being $400, spending about 150/night on a moderate hotel room, $100/day to eat, and $500 spending, you can stay 10 or 11 days.

Have to basically agree with Papa on this one - I'd go for maybe 4 days, live it up and then go home with at least $2000 to put away for the kid's college or whatever.

Just to give a point of reference, our last trip in November was 10 days including travel days. There were 3 of us. We drove down and stayed in a spacious 2-bed, 2-bath condo offsite. Our entire trip cost us about $2,000. So $4,000 would easily get us twice that long since the travel expenses wouldn't double.

So I would think that you could easily do at least a 2-week stay given your conditions. You would be paying onsite rates, eating all meals onsite and flying, all expenses we didn't have. Plus you'd be getting an AP (we got 10 day MYWs).

Personally, I could probably make 4K last 4 weeks or more if it was just me but I wouldn't stay onsite.

DH and I went in September 2000 and we paid about $3000. That got us 2 weeks at the All Star Sports, airfare, 2 AP, and all the extras. We had a wonderful time. I'm sure the cost has since risen, so I'm thinking you could probably do 2 weeks at one of the cheap resorts.

Our family of 4 stayed 11 nights at POFQ and spent about $4000. That included 4 airline tickets and food for 4 though. I think that if you deduct that plus all of the extra junk we bought for our daughters and the 3 extra aps we bought a single traveler could stay there for at least 21 nights. How fun!

On a solo trip I think I would only want to stay 4 or 5 days. I would miss my DH by then!

I would stay at POP until the money runs out.

We drive 13 hours...so we don't need to pay airfare.

Ditto.

Kitty you have been through hell. I say live it up big time!!!!!! If I were you I would go to the disney store buy the ap and get the on the ap website and find the best deals for whatever resort you want to stay at. If you want to stay 3 weeks think about staying a different resorts. I would def. think about staying AKL congriege and do the sunrise safari. The one thing i would insist on is lots and lots of pictures.(and I mean an amount that would put Dan Murphey to shame.);) Most of all have a fantastic time.

I was thinking of a nice new digital camera for this trip! ;) I am going to look into the AP rates, I have DD AP here and it is active, so I will play around with that. I do not want to spend more than $5,000. I just want to go and have a blast! My girlfriend lives in Florida, so she will come and visit for a weekend. I like Chef Mickey's, The Hoop-Dee-Doo, 1900 Parke Fare, Wolf Gang Pucks, Rain Forrest, Shopping at DTD. all the fun stuff! Oh and Casey's Hot Dog's!

We just spent that for our 10 day trip.
2 APs
2 airfares from WA
DDE card
2 Universal passes
PI AP
Tiffany towncar
stayed at a moderate.
Ate well....shopped well :teeth:

I guess it depends how much time you are going to be out ad about.... Will you need to rest and take it easy somewhat? If that's the case, I think you should spend more on accomidations. If you plan to be out and about more i think a MOD would be great.

If you get a good deal on airfare and...

If you stay at Pop Century during value season with the dining package and...

If you can live with about $30-$40 a day spending money,

then you may be able to stay for three weeks.

Whatever happens, I hope you make a full and hopefully speedy recovery and that you have a fantastic trip.

We're planning our Dec. trip (10 days) and I'm starting some of the pricing. Hotel is going to cost $2809.92, more if something opens in conceirge. APs are going to cost $1275.69 (two adults, one child & two free being under 3). I haven't priced anything else yet. DDE card $60. We will also be adding one night off site the very first night we get to FL, as we'll be arriving at about 11 pm. That already takes us over $4000 at $4145.61 and doesn't include food, travel, souveners.
