Where do you work downtown. I'm at Dearborn and Madison; have been there 38 years and tired of it. I guess if a building downtown looked over the castle I might like it too.

If you guys are anything like me, you look for a little Disney in life everyday. Yeah, yeah....we all get on the DIS for our daily Disney fix, but it seems like I am always looking/finding ways to fit Disney in my everyday life.

Well....I am doing something really special for my DS Caden tomorrow. He has been doing stellar in Kindergarten this year and I wanted to reward him, sooooooo..... tomoroow night I am taking him to see.....

YEP...we are going to see Beauty & the Beast Broadway Musical! I am so excited and I know Caden will just love it. I have never seen it, but I have heard it is just amazing!!!! I mean, how could it not be amazing....it's Disney!!

I am sure it will be lots of little girls instead of little boys, but Caden LOVES all the songs from Beauty & the Beast. I had an old iPod shuffle that I loaded Disney songs on for him to listen to in the car on the drive down to Disney last year. His favorite song is Be Our Guest, and it's sooooo cute when he sings along. I wish I could get video of that. I figure in another year or so Princess stuff won't be cool so I might as well enjoy my sweet boy while I can. I will report back on our experience on Thursday or Friday!

• I am crazy obsessive about my planning…hence beginning a PTR more than a year out from the trip. You could call me a borderline nut job ….okay, maybe that border is a little blurred and I “may” have already crossed it, but you get the general idea.
• I have this thing for using 3 dots… like this… when writing. I don’t know why… but I guess you better get used to it!

  I suffer from these exact same issues - however - I didn't realize that there was a name for them. I also suffer from OCDPD (Obsessive Compulsive Disney Planning Disorder)... I have yet to hear about a cure for that one either.

Hmmm... I am not sure about this one? I am definately romantic - but since DH refuses another Disney trip - It's a bit difficult to be romantic in Disney.

Now that we have all the disclaimers and legalities out of the way we can move on. I am excited to plan and share my trip with all of you. This will be a much different trip than my last (see PTR link in my siggie if you want to read more) and I’m going to need some input and advice along the way. The biggest difference is that this trip will be just my boyfriend Wayne and I…no kids, no parents or grandparents…just US! Here’s a few pics of us from our October 2011 trip:

Now that you know who will be going on this trip I guess I should fill you in on the when and where…except…that’s still slightly up in the air.

I am pretty confident that our trip will be Sunday, October 13 thru Friday, October 18…at least that is what I am hoping. I work as a school bookkeeper and only get 3 personal days (no actual vacation time since I'm off when the kids are off) Our school system does a Fall Break where we are out Thursday, Friday and the following Monday. (Today is actually the first day of fall break). If the calendar follows history then we will be off Oct. 17-18 (Thurs & Fri) and Oct. 21 (Mon.) in 2013. I will take my 3 personal days on Oct. 14-16. If the calendar changes then I will have to modify my dates. I am hoping that doesn’t happen.

As for where we will be staying…that’s still undecided as well. I know…I’m slacking here…I’ve started a PTR without even the basic details ironed out.

We will hopefully be renting DVC points for this trip (thus part of the reason why a Sun.-Thurs. trip…less points per night). Hey…I have to save a little $$ somewhere. Since I won’t be able to lock in our dates until around February we will be about 8 months out from our trip…which means we won’t have the 11 month booking advantage for the resort of our choice. For this reason, I am trying not to get my heart set on 1 specific resort…just in case it’s not available for our dates. So, here’s the 3 I have it narrowed down to (in alphabetical order so there’s no bias ):

Bay Lake Tower

Beach Club Villas

Boardwalk Villas

If I’m lucky enough to have a choice….where should we stay? I won’t give away which one I’m leaning towards (NOT YET) but help me decide. To answer a few commonly asked questions… We will not have a car and will be relying on Disney transportation. We will probably spend equal time at MK and EP so location is not necessarily a deciding factor. We don’t have a preference on view at any of the resorts except no Standard View at BLT. So…where would YOU stay? Why? Give a girl some insight here.

OK - so this is my opinion... SInce you are staying at DVC during F&W - it's imperative that you find somene who owns DVC at BCV or BWV if you want to stay there - I have heard that you NEED that 11 month booking window to stay at any of the Epcot resorts during F&W - and since that 11 month booking window opens soon, I would start looking asap.

And, as far as BLT - that resort has never appealed to me, it's just too modern... I prefer AKV or if you are looking at monorail resorts, I would love to stay at the Poly some day too.

Ahhh Beauty and the Beast! What a great way to get some Disney IRL!!! We usually go to Disney on Ice when it comes to town each fall, but we missed it this year since we had just plopped down $300 on tickets to a concert in December. And no...alas, said concert has no connection to Disney.
