Hi Diser's:goodvibes

Have been lucky enough to go to WDW several times but this is our first time ever in school holidays (August) :scared1: the most busy time we have experienced was end of June when you really couldn't move anywhere near Main Street for about 2 hours before wishes and if you wanted any hope of a decent spot you have to be sat there for a good few hours to save it with lots of grumpy people giving you evils:guilty: - Wishes is truly one of my highlights and I'm beginning to dread the thought of it:guilty: I have read about the dessert party with preferred viewing area but from what I have read its very hard to get a reservation?? Also with that my son is coeliac and there prob won't be much he could eat anyway so seems very pricy if he can't have much - can you book just the preferred viewing only?? What would you guys recommend?:thumbsup2

Sx

I made a res for the dessert party about a week after reservation opened for it. (its ususally 1-2 months prior to date) The only problem I had was getting a reservation for two. had no prob getting one for three so I did that and latter cancelled the third seat.
I dont think you will have a problem getting a res as long as you do it shorty after they open them up

weve been in August and havent ever had problems watching Wishes by the castle. Its my fav viewing spot.
try not to worry, perhaps have a couple of days planned to watch it. :goodvibes

We were there in early August last year and we found it really difficult for Wishes. If you booked with WDTC you will get preferred viewing as part of your package, if not, I'd spring for the Dessert Party and stay out of the zoo! :rotfl2: We did the Dessert Party in February in a much lower crowd but found it was a great place to view the fireworks and the desserts were really good!

We go end of june / early july and never have a problem with wishes on main street. Normally stand either at the bottom of it, or at the top or somewhere in between, there is always space somewhere. We normally watch parade at Liberty Square by the Christmas Shop and then filter our way round to Main Street. The paths off to the left and right at the top of Main Street to adventureland and tomorrowland are also decent for watching it. I've seen us sit at Main Street Station before, but unless you get there at 6, the seats go pretty quick. The other problem with that is all the folk who rush in behind or beside you, so you give yourself room. I'm 6'2 and if my legs touch the railings when sat, then its too close.

For something a bit different, you could always watch it from in Fantasyland where the carousel is. Haven't yet had the chance to view it from New Fantasyland, but it is a bit different having fireworks on either side of you.

Remember as well that the easiest way to move along main street is through the shops.

We've been at busy times but never have a problem. We usually just hang back a bit - usually level with Caseys and the ice cream parlour. No need to get any closer and there you usually have a bit of space :goodvibes

Personally I think the dessert party is overpriced.

We have always been early August and have never really had an issue with the crowds, it's busy yes but I've never found it too crowded, we got a perfect spot for the fireworks last time and we arrived about 10 minutes before it started :-)
