For those of you who have had a Wishes wedding (LUCKY!!!), do brides have the option to have event-like designs for weddings and receptions? I absolutely LOVE David Tutera's Classic Elegance designs but if I were to chose a Couture over a Wishes, I'd would be out a lot of hands-on experience and wouldn't have as much control as I want (which is a HUGE no-go for me). I read on the website that they cannot "modify or alter the elements of a David Tutera design", but could they do something similar? I mean, they have the supplies on hand obviously and just pin-spotting a table and having pretty linens isn't the whole of decorating a venue. I guess my question is how much goes into the decor of a Wishes wedding and ceremony, since it's "completely personalized."

i'm sure disney would do whatever you could dream...

Each wishes is different based on budgets and tastes.

I think Disney can make a Wishes wedding just as design-y as a Tutera wedding, it's just that most people don't want to pay that much for decor, food, etc. Who knows - the Couture packages could be a screaming deal when you price out all the individual elements.

You might want to talk to Kashmir - she's planning a Couture wedding, and it sounds like Disney is a lot more flexible with the Tutera design and various elements than the literature makes them out to be. (This could also be because - I am willing to bet - she is the only person they have planning a Couture wedding! :rotfl: )

Wow...I found help quick! LOL! I was reading the PJ off and on. That's a great idea. Thanks. (can you tell I'm a n00b? It took me 5 min. to find the hug smiley! Ugh!)

Hi! I am planning a wishes wedding for about 100 guests, so yes it is going to be quite the event! Disney can do pretty much any decorations that you like. The floral team has zillions of table lines, chair covers, etc. and will work with you to do all types of floral designs. I am not an expert on this, because those are the areas that I have really cut costs to fit such a large amount of guests into my budget. But at my planning session we discussed a million ideas. The Disney staff is creative!

Hey philahartasimic - I'm probably going to be having about 100 guests at my FTW too!! Good to hear that Disney is flexible and creative for the nutcases like us!! :lmao:

Topic? I'm hoping I can use some of the "enchanted garden" things for, uh, inspiration when it comes time to plan out my wedding!! Let us know how it goes, DaDivatude!! :)

Hi ladies!

Now I can't speak on behalf of DFTW, but I can based upon my own experience.

It seemed like at first that Disney really didn't want anything to change when it came to the Tutera collections. However, after a few questions I had they seemed willing to change a few things with David's approval. Then once I met with my wedding planner, coordinator, and the floral dept back at our site visit in October, they told me that they are now able to be a little more flexible with the designs.

I think because they have a few other Couture weddings they are planning right now (I know of two that will take place before mine... but as far as I know mine is the first Simply Chic) that their experience is helping to mold their mindset a bit more. I guess that's part of the reason why I'm really glad mine isn't the first one! I rather have someone else have the kinks sorted out, if you know what I mean!

Not sure what the new flexibility specifically means, but this is my experience... At the site visit, we all sat around and started talking about using burnt orange chargers, a few burnt orange orchids, and maybe even changing the color of the underlining linen on the tables. We even talked about changing some of the flowers in the table centerpieces (I'm not a fan of the smell of lilies.) Another idea was to have burnt orange rose petals lining either side of the runner in the isle of the pavillion during the ceremony.

I'm not sure what kind of changes you would want to make to the design, but it seemed to me that they would be willing to hear you out at least and then maybe see how it could work. In my case, I didn't really want to change much of anything, but they were the ones with so many different (and great!) ideas (the table linen, runner, etc.)

One cool thing was that some couture bride out there is having the Cocktail Soiree as her rehearsal dinner and then the classic elegance for her wedding reception. That's got to cost a pretty penny, but it sounds like an amazing multi-day event!!

Let me know if you have any specific questions! I'd be glad to help as much as I can!

Kashmir104, I am pleased to hear that. There is no way that I would consider a Couture Collection wedding/vow renewal if I would be locked into using what exists without at least some leeway for personalization. What Mr. Tutera has chosen for the FTW Couture Collection looks lovely; however, I am an individual and my tastes do not exactly jibe with his. But now it sounds like things aren't quite as rigid and that pleases me. Thank you for sharing this information.

If you show a picture of something you like I wouldn't see why they couldn't re create it for you!!
