UPDATED TO SAY - THIS IS A VERY OLD THREAD

Hi everyone

Its time to step up on my planning as we have now set a date 18th May 2009 :cool1:

I have some questions that I need you ask all of you very helpful people......

- what exactly is included in the wishes package ? (I have a wish book but to be honest its not that great)

- whats disney photography/videography like ?

- when can i pencil in my dates and then formally book and pay a deposit ?

We have decided on -

- a Wedding Pavilion ceremony
- living seas reception
- lower uk desert party

there will be about 30 of us

I CAN'T WAIT !!!!!!!!!

thanks for any help

I don't know what you mean what is included. You get an anual pass as a thank-you gift but that's it. You have a minimum amount that you will havce to spend on your wedding day with flowers, food, etc. It's not like an Escape wedding where you get certain things in the package. You pay for everything a la carte. For May the current minimums are Monday-Thursday $10,000, Friday & Sunday $20,000, and Saturday $25,000. Minimums are met through a combination of food & beverage, floral, decor, music, entertainment, photography/videography, special transportation, venue rentals, and other wedding day services provided by DFTW.

We're planning our wedding right now so I haven't used Disney's photography services but we looked at some of their stuff when down there for a sales meeting and they do some great work, but that's all I can tell you at the moment.

I have my timeline they gave me here so maybe this will help you (granted this may all change before 2009 who knows).

18 mths: contact a DFTW Consultant to discuss you options for your dream wedding.

12 mths: You can tentatively hold space for your wedding. If you want a Theme Park venue or Atlantic Dance Hall as your venue you may sign a letter of agreement at this point (note I did not mention Ariel's because it isn't being released that far away at this moment). All other space may be confirmed at 8 months prior to your date.

9 mths: Select Disney Resort locations for your guests. Your Wedding Consultant will be happy to assist you in creating a room block.
Complete the information you want provided on your Disney wedding website.

8 mths: Sign the Letter of Agreement and pay a $1500 deposit.

There's more from there but that's your first stages. I hope this helps you out some.

How do you do the room block at 9 months if you do not confirm your location until 8 months? I would want to make sure I had the places first. If I was set on the wedding pavillion and found out at 8 months I couldn't have it, I would change my date and then the room block would change.

Thanks for your replies :)

I can't believe that ! Why would they give you freebies with a lower priced wedding ? I take it that there is also no champagne cake reception either ???

.

Thanks for that it really helped :)

I know what you mean - this seems to be a bit back to front ???

Well, the annual passes that come with the Escape Wedding aren't exactly freebies - when they added them to the package they raised the price of the package $1,000!

The difference is, an Escape wedding is a package. The Wishes wedding is a customized event with a ceremony and full reception in any format you choose - not just a 20-minute champagne and cake event - and you pick all the elements just as you would if you were planning a regular wedding in your hometown. Hope this helps!

WOW I didn't know that  not so much a freebie then !

To be honest I havn't been looking that greatly into disney weddings, it's just now that we have chosen a rough date that I seem to suddenly have a million questions !!!

So with a wishes wedding do you get the 2 annual passes free and a free night in any disney hotel for your wedding night ? I think thats what I've read on here ?

Thats what is was a few months ago (they have changed the name of the weddings since then). You get the free honeymoon night after you meet your room guarantee, as well as YOU staying at a Disney hotel for a few nights (required 4-5 days for us). We received 2 annual passes for free...nothing "went up" in the bill.

To get the free night you have to meet your minimum room guarantee. The minimum varies by the number of people coming to the wedding. For us, with 75 guests we had to guarantee 50 room nights.
