Wishes or Illuminations cruise???

Hi - for those of you that have done both (lucky things!!) - which cruise is better and why???

I am swaying towards Epcot as I assume (perhaps incorrectly!!) that you will have a better view of the show there than the one at Magic KIngdom - am I wrong??

We much prefer the Illuminations cruise. The WISHES cruise is nice but, like you say, the view isn't all that special (I actually prefer the view from the Polynesian beach....) and also we also always like to enjoy WISHES in the park so we can soak up the wonderful atmosphere the show creates - you kind of lose this on the cruise. Conversely, the Illuminations cruise takes you into EPCOT beside other people watching the show. You have a great view (in my opinion, although some people don't like it so much....) and you also avoid the crush and crowds as everyone tries to leave afterwards. Also, (I hope) Captain Ron still does the Illuminations cruises! He is such a gem and will make it so special for you!

Captain Ron skippered our Illuminations cruise on 4th January this year, DH's 50th) and he did a great job of making a special night even better and presented DH with a Magical Moment Certificate. He is a Disney Star!!!

I'm so glad to hear he is still around. He's a gem - we booked an Illuminations Cruise for our anniversary and we got the Magical Moment certificate as well, and our three children got gorgeous gift packs and hidden mickey booklets. He epitomises what Disney is all about.
