On our 1st Disney day the park schedule shows:

9:00 Wishes nighttime spectacular
9:35 Celebrate The Magic

I'm thinking of making a dinner reservation for the California Grill at the CR. I'd like to see the fireworks as we eat. Would that be the 9:00 Wishes or the 9:35 Celebrate? Are they two fireworks shows, or one firework (Wishes) and one video projection (Celebrate)? Can you see the Celebrate show from outside of the park?

Celebrate The Magic is a projection show.

Wishes is a fireworks show.

Both can be seen outside the park. I've watched both as far away as Polynesian's beach...however, the last time I went, there was no music. From what I understand, California Grill does have the music, but I don't know if they have the music for Celebrate the Magic, though i would assume they do.

Wishes is the fireworks show. Celebrate the Magic is the Castle projection show. You can see Wishes from Cali Grill, but I don't think you can see the projection show- or if you can see anything, it would be too far away to really make out any of the projections.

If Wishes is at 9pm, then the CTM you're referring to is likely the second one of the night - they usually do one at 8:45, then Wishes at 9pm, then the second CTM is at 9:35pm before the second MSEP. So you should be able to catch CTM and then 9pm Wishes

To fully enjoy Celebrate the Magic, you really need to be close to the castle so yes, you will see it from the restaurant, but it won't be as magical.
