Is watching Wishes from Poly beach equally as nice as from MK? Better? Not as good?

We are staying at Poly for first time, and were planning on maybe not being in MK on wishes nights bc crowd calendar shows high crowds. I read you can watch them from Poly beach which I think sounds fun, (we have 3 kids ages 4-9), but I don't want to miss out on watching them from the park if its considerably more spectacular.
We have had one other trip 4 years ago & we loved the fireworks in the park but it was rough leaving so late with the kids and I hate crowds!

Thank you!

You'd be a whole lot closer in the MK...I'd think that'd make for a much better show (I'd say definitely more spectacular), but if low crowds are a higher priority, the Poly beach is maybe a better choice.

I think many of the resort viewing locations are a fun, alternative way to watch Wishes after you've seen them from inside the park. For the Poly Beach, the view is nice, but you're much further away from the castle, so you won't see any of the detailed projections on the castle (you can usually tell when the lights chance color) and the music is kind of hit-or-miss depending on where you're watching from. I haven't watched from the Poly Beach since the new Bungalows were built on the water, but you can get a sense of the distance in the photo below.

However, if avoiding crowds is your priority, then watching from one of the resort viewing locations is a better option. It will be crowded on Main Street (or any of the in-park viewing locations). So you'll have to choose between dealing with crowds and getting a more spectacular/immersive view of the show against lower crowds, but a more remote show.

Thank you!
I forgot to add that I am debating whether or not to buy tickets to the Christmas party. If we go to the Christmas party are there fireworks and are they the same as the wishes fireworks? And what time do they do fireworks on party nights?

My thought was maybe if we see fireworks during the Christmas party from the park, any other night from the poly would be enough, like a bonus.

I kind of disagree with this after seeing them from both locations over the last nearly 25 years. They are different experiences and we find for the fireworks portion more spectacular from the Poly beach. From there you get the true scope of the fireworks and are never blocked by people or buildings. The scope is more than you can see from the park especially for party or special fireworks. However, you give up the castle show before the fireworks.

I'd suggest both when you are staying at the Poly. With small kids, if you can only choose 1 night then I'd do the Poly beach, the fireworks are spectacular there and you get the Electric Water Pageant as well which the kids would likely love.

If you're going to watch them from outside the park, I think the TTC is a better choice than the Poly.

They have fireworks at the Christmas party, but it's Holiday Wishes, not regular Wishes. Typically fireworks at the parties is at 9:30.

They present "Holiday Wishes: Celebrate the Spirit of the Season" fireworks show at MVMCP, which is different from regular Wishes. You can watch wdwinfo's video on their MVMCP webpage (http://www.wdwinfo.com/holidays/mvmcp.htm). In the past the fireworks have been at 9:30 pm, but this year they moved the MNSSHP fireworks to 10:00 pm, so it's not clear when the MVMCP fireworks will be presented. I'd keep on eye on the MVMCP SuperThread for the latest information.

Thanks! Sorry to keep on going...but is Holiday Wishes similar to regular Wishes? Better? Not as good?! Sorry! Just trying to decide if Christmas party is worth it and trying to nail down my agenda. If I see holiday wishes from the park is there any need to go back the next night to see regular wishes? Conversely if I am willing to be in MK for regular Wishes one night, is Holiday wishes great enough and different enough to still be a big Pro in favor of going to the Christmas party, if I'm already going to see regular wishes from park and maybe other nights from Poly beach?
I realize I'm off topic now!

Whether one show is better than the other is very subjective. I would watch both of them on Youtube (or some similar site) and decide for yourself.

The wdwinfo webpage for MVMCP will help you get a sense of the offerings at the party. It's more than just the fireworks...there is also the Christmas Parade, characters in costume, treats, etc.

A little off topic, but we too are staying at Poly with small children and will be there Oct31-Nov6. What time are the fireworks Nov2-nov6 when the park closes early 8pm.

Regular (non-party night) Wishes fireworks times are listed on all the on-line calendars (like THIS one and THIS one.)

On nights with MNSSHP, HalloWishes begins at 10pm.
