Wishes from California Grill?

We're hoping to have our Silver wedding celebration with our family at California Grill in July. We would like to be able to watch "Wishes" while we're there. Could anyone recommend the best time to make the ADR and any suggestions as to how to make it happen in the most magical way - best table possibilities etc.

I would call before your reservation and let them know you are celebrating a special occaision. If I remember correctly, I made reservations for 9pm when Wishes was at 10pm. We went out to watch between dinner and dessert. One of the more memorable meals of our 10 day trip.

We celebrated my birthday there this past Christmas Eve. Our reservations were around 8:45ish p.m. and we had a window seat. We booked this reservation way in advance plus I believe our travel agent told them we would be celebrating a birthday. Try to request a window seat with a MK view, I am not sure if we just lucked out or if they honored our request I love this restaurant and will definately go there everytime we are in Disney, it is excellent . We've eaten there twice and both times have lucked out in getting a window table (requested this from the start) Both times we were celebrating a birthday. First time, nothing special, second time, I made request through concierge (at POP) that I would like something special for DD 7th birthday, like confetti on table, etc. We got the confetti, and the window location. We also had a great waiter (Billy-sommelier)

We had ADR for about 7:30 for 9 p.m. Wishes. We were just having dessert when Wishes started. I also had checked what time sunset would be, and we arrived upstairs, just as the sun was setting! It was a wonderful view.

To make sure you get some "magic" I would mention your celebration when booking and also, contact the restaurant the day your going to ask about it again. And then, mention it again, upon check in. No nagging, just some polite requests!

One other suggestion....there are windows facing 3 directions, so make sure to specify "fireworks view". Also, arrive a little early and mention it again when you check in.

I don't know if this is a recent change, but I called regarding my CG ressies (in 5 days- yay!) and I was told that they cannot add specific seating requests on your ADR, it must be requested at the podium when you arrive. So either that's a new change or the CM was wrong
