Wishes FP complaint

I was online last night at 12:00:01 60 days out to book our Fastpasses and there were no Wishes FP+ available for our stay. Or Festival of Fantasy for the days we are in MK. I was just checking the first four days of our 6 day stay end of September, so far from busy time. That is just ridiculous, and crazy to think it is not even worth it when you get there. So much for locking in your fun, Fastpass+!

Keep checking because that's not the norm. Wishes FP is definitely worth it and we don't watch it without the FP anymore. We normally book it 20-30 days out. Festival of Fantasy parade though, that's almost just as hard to get as A&E for whatever reason. You can get seven dwarfs before you can get the FoF FP

And to OP, sucks you had that experience. Fortunately it seems that's not the norm, but nonetheless sucks that it happened to you.

We've used the Wishes FP about 3-4 times since December. Each time it's been tomorrowland side and hasn't been overly crowded.

The CM's have always said upon entering "it'll be standing room only". But each time they haven't came by and strictly enforced it. Generally most people pack the front and they have them all stand. Whereas the back is a lot less crowded and we sit against the railing each time, which no CM has minded

We sat in the back of the fp area that was closest to Tomorrowland Terrace and had a good view. The majority of the people were crowded toward the front which left some nice, open area in front of us. The CM came by once to ask people to stand, which most did, but never came again to enforce it or ask sitting people to stand. We really liked using the fp area because we got there five minutes before the pre-show and had a great view, better than we have ever had before. :)

Below is a "work-in-progress" of my overview of the new Hub. Some of the "outer" sidewalks shown have not been built yet. Some of the unfinished areas have since been finished. The original photo is by Scott Keating, posted on WDWMagic.

I have been in there several times and they always have you stand. It is a safety issue (if something were to go wrong, everyone who was standing would run for the exit and everyone on the ground would be squished)

And I have noticed that even in the FP areas, people move towards the front, leaving the back pretty open. The view of the fireworks is just as good, and there are less people.

For the PP whose daughter is claustrophobic - Be wary of this area. If you get in early, it feel great, but as more people file in an can quickly be anxiety inducing. I'm not sure how she reacts, but I actually had to leave about half way through to find an open space. BUT when I watch from the hub, I don't have any issues because it's crowded the whole time. It's totally a mind game, but that's my personal experience. (similarly, I can be in the Haunted Mansion room before it expands without an issue, but I have been in while it shrunk back to size and it freaked me out)

Check for MNSSHP dates. Wishes and MSEP are not running then.

Also, every time I've been. The front is crowded. Toward the back there's been plenty of room. So this is another reason we just head to the back. Sit down, lean against the railing so you have something for your back, and each time we've had about 5 feet of room from the next group of people

FoF runs on party days. MSEP and Wishes do not.

Is there anyway someone could post a the view you get of Wishes when you use FP? Thanks.

I had my tripod set up right in front of one of the topiaries on the Crystal Palace side. Do note the large poles. I arrived early to be sure I could get a spot where those poles would not obstruct my shots.

When we were there the first weekend in June, we didn't arrive to the area until just before the castle show started, we were told "standing room only" as we entered, but everyone was sitting.
We found a good spot towards the back, and sat down, but when the castle show started, just about everyone stood up.
The CM's came through in between the castle show and wishes and had the few still seated get up.
I didn't feel packed in at all, and it seemed the crowd that night was more inclined to stand.

We have only done it once, July 9, but this was our experience exactly.

So can you choose between East and West areas? I have a FP+ for end of August but maybe I didn't pay enough attention because I didn't notice if it said East/West.

Your choice that night.

Our last trip was in 2013 when FP +was a trial for our resort. We FP the parade and wishes. I thought they were great. Plenty of room and we were allowed to sit. I wanted to do the same for this trip and was upset when I couldn't get either FP. Now I'm not so upset. After being in the park all day you want a chance to sit and chill for a few minute. I understand the possible safety issues but I seen plenty of ppl sitting viewing both shows with out a problem so what I missing is why is it so unsafe in this area?

Both fastpass areas have changed a lot since you went neither are in the same places

You choose what side you want to go to. So pick the side where what side of the park you'll want to go to after the fireworks. And also note that tinkerbell flies a lot closer to the tomorrowland FP side

I really like the area set aside for Wishes. Sitting on the fake grass was actually quite nice and it seemed like at first it was going to be a very nice experience.

Then I noticed how many people were being let in and I started getting a little nervous. Next a CM comes through telling everyone to stand up. I found that odd simply because we had the grass and could actually see everything perfectly if everyone in the FP viewing area sat as well. Bottom line is that by the time the castle projection show started, we felt like sardines. I wish they set it up to only give out enough FPs where people can comfortably sit on the grass. I know that would significantly impact the chances of getting the FP for the attraction but if I wanted to be crammed in with a bunch of people, I would have just filed in with the rest of the crowd. Getting out was a little easier but overall I wasn't all that impressed.

I know this is probably not the point of the FP but that's my thought on the current situation.
Is there any place in front of the castle to watch the castle show and wishes if you don't use a FP+?
