Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party

Has anyone got to the Dessert party via the "Same Day Reservation?" I know the different location, but I am curious about the food and seating. Is it all the same and the ADR version at Tomorrowland Terrace:
  • 1. Are tables moved into the area each night or is this one standing room only?
  • 2. Are the dessert/food/drink options the same?

1. Standing room only for viewing the FIREWORKS.
(Some guests choose to sit on the artificial turf in that outside viewing area.)
2. Yes. And, those are severed INSIDE the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant, and you are seated at tables. After you eat the desserts, you then move outside to the Hub viewing area.

Where do you go for the advanced purchase of the dessert party? Is it the terrace?

This is what I want to know also. We have a reservation already booked but we are thinking of cancelling and getting one the same day.We would rather be in the Plaza Garden to watch Wishes. We did do the Wishes dessert party last year and I wasn't thrilled with the view.
I know they start selling tickets at 10:30 for the same day reservation. I just wonder if we went later then 10:30 would there still be plenty left and where can we get the tickets? I do think you buy them at the Terrace but I wonder if they sell them anywhere else, like at the resorts?

Hi! We just got back and did the Wishes Dessert Party. We had an ADR for this, but I paid attention to what was going on.

WDP with an ADR:
  • People started lining up to get in about 1 hour before the dessert party opened. (Ex: Wishes started at 10, Dessert Party started at 9, people lined up at 8)
  • Guests have a choice of seating on a first-come first serve basis. We chose a seat along the rail on the right-hand side so that we could wave at Tinkerbell as she flew over us.
  • All seats were out on the balcony without cover. Some were along the railing, some were not but even those that were not should still have a great view.
WDP same day reservation:
  • The tables do not have a view of the castle, so there is no need to line up early to choose a seat.
  • You enjoy the same buffet as those with an ADR but then you are moved to the hub area to watch the show.
Overall thoughts:
  • The view for the fireworks was great - it was nice to be able to sit and relax at a table with chairs to enjoy the show.
  • The view of Tinkerbell is amazing!
  • The view of the projection show on the castle was partially obstructed by trees, but still a good view.
  • You cannot get a good view of the Main Street Electrical Parade from here.
  • The buffet was good, but I wish they served some more salty items. How many sweet things can you possibly eat?!?!!

We have an ADR for next Sunday but are hoping we can move to the hub (two of us will have tripods and want to shoot wishes, thinking hub will have the better view and make it so we don't have to line up super early to try for a rail/unobstructed view

Be careful of the positioning of the light and speaker poles that will be between you and the castle from the hub viewing area(s.)

Post back and let us know how it goes with moving to the hub.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll scope out the location earlier in the day to make sure I can get a good view

We just did this last night.

Depending on where you sit will determine if you need to stand for the projection show or not. We sat right in the front and stood for the projection due to the speaker pole and people standing about 10 feet in front of us on the non dessert party area. We were able to sit during the entire fireworks Show.

Hi! Did you book this on the day or in advance? I want to watch the fireworks from up close and not be stuck in tomorrowland terrace. I heard that you could only move out to the garden area if you booked on the day or there was enough space so your experience would be helpful!

Thanks

There is not much difference in DISTANCE between the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert location and the Hub Dessert viewing area.

But, there is a difference in ANGLE, with the hub locations being more "centered."

I booked same day.

There were only about 30 people in the same day area.

I looked at the view from the terrace and defenitity thought the hub area location had a better view. Felt more center and close.

That sounds nice if you can sit during the fireworks.

So, if you DO move to the turf area for the fireworks after dessert, it is crowded? Are there still people getting in your way? Would a 9 year old be able to see well or is it nice and spread out and pleasant? A girl can dream, right?

Nobody knows how busy it will be, in advance (because it is booked on the "day-of.")
And, the whole thing is too new for accurate historical data.

We can GUESS that it won't be overrun on any typical evening.'

All bets are off on "holiday" evenings (July 4th week, etc.)

I second the suggestion of the Wishes cruise. I did it last year with my grandkids aged 3,4 and 5, plus my daughter, son and niece. It was AMAZING! They took us on a cruise around the old River Country, WL, and all around Bay Lake. Then we stopped in front of the MK with a beautiful view of the fireworks. The music was piped in to the boats sound system, so no problem there. Plus, they had water, soda, chips, cookies, pretzels and we noshed on those for the whole trip. There were a lot of snacks left at the end of the cruise, and our guide sacked them up and we took them back to the condo with us. It was a perfect evening, and way better than fighting the Main Street crowds for a decent view. It was about $300.00, so not cheap, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I also recommend the Wishes cruise! Its the only way I would want to watch Wishes now. I found a cruise for my best friend and I to share with 2 other couples so the price was just right for us, we had dinner before we cruised so we didn't partake of the snacks (lots of options) but enjoyed a soda during the cruise, we were also encouraged by the captain to take as much of the leftovers as we wanted which was nice. The view of Wishes is FAR superior to being in the park, the music was piped in, our captain told us all about the history of the Bay Lake area, we were able to see the "bear" in the windows of the Wilderness Lodge etc. We took some amazing pictures of the fireworks , we also were able to see the Electric Water parade and the entire evening was SO relaxing and fun. Mind you I paid a fortune to attend a Hallowishes Dessert party during the same trip and it didn't even compare to the Wishes cruise!

I have heard they do not have seats?

The pontoon boats used for the private Wishes Cruise DO have seats.

You may be thinking of some of the other "group cruises" that are offered.

Personally, we loved it. I proposed to my wife in that party (right after the fireworks, castle in the backdrop) - Disney photographer got a great shot of it. That was a few years ago. When we did it, people still got up and went to the rail to watch, but it wasn't a big deal - with the number of people and the rail space, there was plenty of room for everyone. For an extra bonus, you could linger there for a bit until some of the crowds got out of the way and not fight as much the rush of human bodies for the exit.

I wouldn't so it every time, but I would do it again.

We have not taken the cruise yet, but I hear good things.
