Are there restaurants that offer meals with good views of Wishes and Fantasmic? My wife and I will hopefully have the dining plan and would like to watch both fireworks displays while enjoying a late dinner. Hopefully the meals would only take one table service credit. Any suggestions?

I was wondering the same thing. I have an ADR at the castle for dinner and was wondering if we'd really be able to see anything. Do you think so?
Thanks!

I don't think you would be able to see Fantasmic from anywhere, though if I'm wrong, I'd like to know!

You can't see Fantasmic from any restaurant - it is held in the Hollywood Hills theater.

Wishes can be seen from Ohana's at the Polynesian, California Grill at the Contemporary and Narcossee's at the Grand Floridian. Both CG and Narcossees are 2 dining credits - not sure about Ohana's. Also, it depends on where you are seated if you get an unobstructed view.

On our trip June 2005, we made a last minute switch to a late dinner at the Crystal Palace. We ended up eating dinner during the first showing of Spectromagic, when we were done eating, we walked a few feet away from the front door and only waited a few minutes for Wishes to start. We stood by some bushes, so there was no one in front of us, but I would have like to have been a just a smidgen further down the bushes (away from the castle and towards the direction of the main street). Except for a few low fireworks, we did have a great view and didn't have all the stress of staking out a spot ahead of time. Also, Crystal Palace wasn't very busy that late at night.

Would like to add a quick note about how absolutely FANTASTIC the 2nd showing of Spectromagic is. We finished watching Wishes, made our way to liberty square, rode Haunted Mansion twice, came out to watch Spectromagic and there were maybe 15 other people in ALL of Liberty Square. It was great!!! We practically had the place to ourselves. And this was in the middle of June. For me, it was a highlight of our wonderful trip. If there are 2 showings of Spectromagic, in the future I will ONLY go to the 2nd showing. I don't care how late it is. It is well worth it. So much less stress.

:wave2: Hello. I have a question about that 2nd show of Spectro? Do you have children and if so how old are they and how did they do? I keep hearing that the kids will readjust their clocks to vacation mode . . . Just curious. The 2nd showing of Spectro while we are going to be there is at 11 pm so I am concerned about how late that is. Thanks for the tip!

At the time, the kids ranged from 5 to 12 and there were 4 kids (not all of them mine). They did fine with the late hour, but I think a big part of it was we never really did adjust to the time zone change. We all live in Washington state, so Florida is 3 hours later for us. So 11pm for us in Florida was really 8pm to our clocks. It was this reason why we started changing all of our dinner times to much later - we just weren't hungry at the earlier time. this is why we happened to eat so late at Crystal Palace that night. Once we figured out to change our dinner times to later, we did a lot better. Also, we did take afternoon breaks and that really helped. There were a few days we didn't do the afternoon break and you could really notice the difference. As I mentioned, I highly highly recommend the 2nd showing of Spectromagic. And that afternoon break is a big help. At first, my mind really struggled with taking afternoon breaks because my mind was like "we are missing out on valuable park time." But we managed to see just about everything we wanted and our worst wait in line was maybe 30 minutes (for Turtle Talk). And we went in the middle of June. I just did lots of planning on when the best times to do all the rides and it really bad off. Good luck and have fun.
