Wishes dessert party, what time did you do dinner?

Looking for advice for dinner on the night we do Wishes dessert party. We are scheduled to be there at 9:05 on June 12th and the fireworks start at 10. I was wondering what other people did for dinner? Of course we want to have room for desserts but I don't want the kids to be cranky because they are starving. Do you think grabbing a CS meal at 5ish would hold us til then? We are on the dining plan but I was thinking of skipping a sit down dinner this night. What worked for everyone else?

We have done the party twice. We do not do a sit down dinner first. In fact both times we were back at our resort (Poly or CR) for a little rest away from the MK and quick CS meal (around 5:30 -6:00) before heading to MK for the party around 8:00.

I definitely wouldn't do a sit down meal before. I think a CS on the "Healthy" side is nice before all those desserts.

We didn't do a big dinner first and I never would (want to eat wayyy too many desserts!) We had a later lunch at a CS place in Epcot and then shared a lunch as a snack between the 2 of us probably around 4-5ish. We weren't starving but had plenty of room for desserts!
