Thinking of doing one or the other as something special for this our 5th trip. Obviously the dessert party would be cheaper but having the experience of the cruise seems to be a better value then spending 80$ or more for the 4 of us to have dessert and stand in a less crowded space. Are either one of them worth the money or should we just skip them?

I have done both. Both are fantastic, but the cruise is absolutely magical. If you can afford it in the trip budget, you will not regret it. Consider ordering from private dining for an extra special touch! We had the Cinderella's chocolate slipper dessert and a 2 tier mini cake and it was perfect.
