From past experience, you can all line up at the same time and tables are pre-assigned. The only thing affected by your reservation time is when they let you "in." They will let 9:00 people in first, so they'll be the first in line and first to the desserts. I really don't see this as a problem as the line moves fairly quickly and by the time the 9:10 people are let in the 9:00 people have gone through most of the buffet line :thumbsup2 They refill things pretty steadily, so you don't have to worry about things running out. (Disclaimer: I went to the dessert party in 2008 and 2009, so things might have changed since then.)

Congrats to all the May people! You're going to LOVE it!!!
I'm waiting for June :goodvibes

I got a 9:10 slot. So I'm thinking I wasn't the "first" to get the reservations, but I didn't get the latest either. I think the last is 9:20? So I am hoping to get a good seat!! My mom and my son have NO IDEA that I'm doing this!!! I don't think I'm going to tell them until its time to get in line!!! Its gonna be SO HARD to keep it a secret!! :cool2::cool1::cool2:

WooHoo! DISboards R-O-C-K!!!!

2 for May 27 @ 9PM. My last ADR for our Memorial Day-Star Wars-Pop-Dolphin-Universal-RPR extravaganza! Of course, what am I going to do with all my free time now that I don't have to check Disney dining every 5 minutes? :confused3

I'm a little confused by the logistics here. If everyone lines up at the same time, how do they differentiate between the 9:00 and the 9:10 at all? If we are all lined up at the same time wouldn't we all get in at the same time?:confused3 Surely I'm missing something here.

The three times we have attended the dessert party, they have not differentiated between 9:00, 9:10, etc. THey started passing out wristbands at 8:30. At 9:00 everyone with a wristband was let in. Most guests were in line, and that is the order they took us in. I have no idea why they assign different times when you make ADRs.

Yahoo!! Just made our ADR for 5/25!! Officially our last reservation and the countdown IS ON!!!!!!

Yay...reservations for my party of 1 on may 6th
Checked the board one last time on my iphone before going to bed last night, saw May is open, jumped right out of bed again and made the adr. Soooo happy! Dessert party on my arrival day, emh hours at MK afterwards. Perfect :thumbsup2

I have done the Dessert party for the past 3 years and I have never seen reservation time make a difference. I have always had a 9pm ADR and have always had a table closer to the front if not the first table. Maybe your ADR time effects your table placement?

All I know is I'm waiting on June. :) This is becoming a tradition for my son and me. Doing the party on the same night as EMH. The party is our "dinner" :)

So happy for this thread, I just booked the two of us for May 13th at 9pm. Has anybody been to the party with a wheelchair? Just wondering how they accomodate them since my boyfriend uses a power chair.

I use an ECV in Disney and have attended the party 3 time. I have had no problem. When you make your reservation let them know one in your party will be in a power chair. So they can reserve a table that will work best for your party.

So is there any advantage to getting there before say 8:45 if you have a 9pm time slot ?? Just wondering how far in advance we should plan on being in line if tables are pre-assigned

IMO, no, there is not. By 8:45, there will be a line outside the entrance to the party. CMs will be putting wristbands on people in line, in order. But at 9:00 they let everyone in together, and your name is already on your table. Yes, the guests who lined up early will walk in ahead of you, but you will be right behind them. IME, there was plenty of dessert available, and no need to rush in.

I am only going by my experience, which is to arrive around 8:45. Please go ahead and line up earlier if you are worried about getting held up in line. Disney changes their procedures on a whim, so you never know what the entrance procedure will be in the future.

Thanks. That makes a lot more sense.

Yay!!! Just made my ressies for 5/13 at 9:00 for the three of us...DD is going to be so excited :yay:

YAY! I just booked for 5/8 @ 9:00 for 2 people! It is our Honeymoon and I can't wait!

I can make a reservation for the party at 9:10, but wishes starts at 9:00. Is that stupid if the fireworks already start? I'm new to all this, so it doesnt make sense.

Congrats to everyone that got May!

Hoping to have the same sprinkle of fairy dust when we are booking for July 4th!
