As of this am there is still select availability for various dates & party sizes in the months of January and February............including February 29 th...........March has not been loaded yet unfortunately for those of us waiting patiently here :sad2:

Thanks for keeping this thread open :thumbsup2 we are sooo close :surfweb: waiting for April!

I actually booked during MVMCP and we watched the Fireworks. I would so do it again:)

I do recall that they offered it during MVMCP in 2010 since I had a trip planned that year but I did not pay attention this year as to whether or not if was offer during the Christmas Party Nights, I know they did not offer it during the Halloween Parties this year.

I am really looking forward to the Dessert Party, since DH is not a big fan of the Main St crowds during the fireworks and nothing can ruin the perfect day like Mr Grumpy coming out, plus DH has a big sweet tooth so it sounds just perfect.

So we are still waiting on March to be loaded? I keep checking each day. I'm hoping to get a party of 2 for the 13th for DD birthday.

Still waiting here, I normally check 3x a day, it should be soon based on past times when they loaded the party for booking. I am so anxious to book so my plans will be finalized. I keep thinking about switching my DHS and MK day only thing I can not get an early ADR for CP so if nothing opens up for CP I will be keeping my original planned MK day and booking 3/7 for the Wishes Party

I am not totally set on any day. We are arriving the morning or very early afternoon on the 13th which is her birthday. The whole trip is a surprise that she will find out about either that morning or the night before. It's just her and I this trip and since DH is not a sweets person at all I thought this might be a neat way for her and I to spend the evening of her birthday.

But I could do it just about any night becuase I haven't made any plans for the week. I have my regular spreadsheet that I use and I've filled in the hours and EMH and best/worst parks and stuff but I thought we would plan to just do whatever she wants each day. My agreement with DH about going was that we would try to just do CS meals to make it less expensive. But I don't think he would mind this.

I think the Dessert Party is a great way to celebrate your daughters birthday. DH and I are both celebrating birthdays, but early his is the 31st and mine is the 14th. Our last trip we celebrated but I celebrated late and we left to come home on his birthday. I hate that our birthdays fall during peak room rates.
I thought about ordering a cake for the resort or a restaurant, but I think the dessert party is a better option.

DD has been asking for years to go on her birthday and we've never wanted to becuase of the crowds and the extra cost. But it worked out that we had some extra DVC points to use up and with just DD and I going I think we will be able to manage the crowds much better then when all of us go together. DH wouldn't last in the heavier crowds.

I thought about a cake too, but don't know much about them except reading in passing here on the dis. I may have to look into it if for some reason I can't get the dessert party.

We went last January and went to the dessert party and while we weren't thrilled with the food selection, it certainly wasn't bad.

We had a VERY large group (33 people), and 17 of us decided to hit the party. This allowed us all to do what we wanted while in the park and seperate, but get together and watch wishes.

I am taking my wife and 3 yr old daughter in Feburary and we hope to do it again.

When you book the party what time do you book it for?

When you check on Disney's site for reservations is will automatically change the time to the opening time for the dessert party. For the March date I am hoping for, it shows 7:00 p.m. which is one hour before the Wishes fireworks.

Good luck!

We are also hoping for March reservations. Just talked to a reservationist on the phone she said no dates are posted after February yet. Should be soon!

I hope so, I just checked again online but still nothing.

FWIW, I called yesterday about an unrelated matter but decided to go ahead and test and ask about the Wishes Dessert party. The lady told me it would be the end of January before the next batch of reservations opened up.

I personally think someone at Disney is just toying with us to see who is going to crack first from the pressure of constantly checking for new openings!:surfweb:

I thought for sure they would open up this week since the Disney.com calendar reflects some new park hour changes for March............3 night for the week I am there are now open later.

I checked online again today, and before it was showing three times to search for, 7:00 8:00 and 9:00 but not it only shows 7:00 and 9:00 but still nothing available when I search. Does this mean something?
