Wishes Dessert Party ADR Watch Thread December 1-29 2012 Now Open!

In 2010 they only offered the DP through August 14 and free dining began on August 15. It wasn't until July 17 (ish) that they then opened the DP past August 14 and people speculated that it was related to bookings/reservations.

That was two years ago, though, and they did end up extending it, but it wasn't 60 days out like other months.

so, when does free dining start in August?

I remember the first year they offered the dessert party, in 2009. We went in August then, too, and since it was free dining, they had the Tommowland Terrace open for dinner during the same periodc that we were there- but maybe not the same nights.

Anyway, it was extrememly difficult and complicated booking the dessert party, which had to be done on the phone. The CMs on the dining line were so confused about what the dessert party even was, and were accidentally booking people into the dinner buffet instead. That is what happened to me, but luckily I realized it and called back. After lots of complicated discussion, checking of the computer, and insistence from me, they finally changed my reservation to the Dessert Party.

Of course it's been several years, so not only do CM's know what the dessert party is, but we can make ADR's online and avoid the whole discussion now. But it would not surprise me if the possibility of opening the Tomorrowland Terrace for dinner is what is holding up the opening of Dessert party dates. Hopefully, they will get organized enough to open the dessert party dates soon.

Dates are showing on the calendar in November now, but both days I tried had no availablilty. Are they already sold out (180 day was just Friday)?

Novembers not open yet. So far it's only open upto July. It doesn't open up at 180 days like a normal ADR, instead it's a case of waiting and waiting and waiting

Ah. Well, when I looked last week, the dates in the calendar didn't go past August or September. so this one is 90 days? or is it (as it sounds from this thread) totally random?

The timing on the dessert party looks like it starts the same time as the Electrical parade. Can the parade be seen from the Terrace as well? That would be a deal breaker for me. I ♥ that MSEP! LOL

the calendar for August was actually up around April or so. Seems they put it up there but it still won't become active till whatever time they release the month - so far we're all waiting on August still. The first post here shows when dates have been released over the past year.

And some say you can't really see MSEP all that well.

I don't recall being able to see it all that well.... that being said it's not really my thing so I may not have been looking properly (I could have been too absorbed in the dessert ) I'm not that fussed over Wishes either... I only went for the dessert lol.

Not sure when you're hoping to go, but in summer, often there are 2 MSEP. While you wouldn't be able to see the first MSEP as you'd be buzy eating desserts you may be able to see the second depending upon which direction it moves in, you could high tail a big loop around the park & catch it in Frontierland (assuming Main St. will be gridlocked after the end of Wishes)

While I think this may be doable, I don't know for sure. Has anyone ever done this?

in the summer we've often stayed for the late MSEP rather than the first. Usually main street empties out pretty quickly and then you just find yourself a spot on the curb and wait. that said, in August, I don't see it at all more than once a night. July either. I'm sure it will get updated at a later date but for now it only shows once a night.

I am going to make a prediction...I believe that August will open up on Friday the 8th (that does not mean that I'm not going to check each day in between). I hope this is correct as it would mean that my magic ball is working
