Wishes Dessert Party ADR Watch Thread #3-book @ 180 Days Now!

We are going the same night & the CM on the phone told us to be there one hour before the fireworks. She didn't even give us a seating time other than that. See you there!!!! While we're chatting about that day, do you have a plan as how to manage the parade filming crowd that day?
we went to MK two years ago on the day of the Xmas parade taping. We had early morning reservations at the castle. We were able to get in prior to park opening but we couldn't walk down Main Street (it was blocked off). They had us walk thru shops then off to side of castle. The crowds were not bad in am. We rode a bunch of rides in fantasyland without any lines. As the day went on, it got more busy as parade finished filming but wasn't awful. We are planning on going to MK this year on same day since that was only say I could get a BOG reservation. Hopefully it won't be too bad.

We were at MK this year on parade day taping (DD11 wanting to see some "stars"), there was no rope drop ceremony which was a bummer (they need the train to remain in its spot for taping which starts before park opening), there was enough room for us to go down the sidewalks up against the stores to get through. Ride lines were normal, if not shorter, in the AM. We did a lunch ADR at Plaza, that wasn't too hard to get through to get back there. Colbie Caillet was onstage taping "I saw Santa in his bathing suit" in the early afternoon, that lasted a couple of hours. Then we split to spend the afternoon at WL. Neat experience, which scared a lot of other people away!

Thanks for sharing your experience! We were originally just going to go for the morning & then leave, but that's the day we have our BOG ADR too!!! We also have an ADR at CP at 8:20 that morning too. Would you do that morning ADR or enjoy the rides? Are you doing Wishes party then too? Sorry to bring up the taping on a wishes thread! Thanks for any tips or advice on that day!!!

I was looking at the dessert party on the official Disney site and could book any day in December except the 30th and 31st, which were the days I was interested in, does anyone know why that is?

Thanks for the help!

Those dates have not opened up yet....always open later as there are 2 sets of fireworks and 2 Dessert Parties those nights.

See page 1 for info about 2011 :)

Didn't read first page carefully enough! Now to watch faithfully and diligently for it to open! Thanks!

we actually have a CP at 8:15 that am too. I think we will keep it b/c it allows us in the park (and out of the huge line that forms) prior to opening at 9am. I am hoping we can be done eating and hit rides as soon as park opens. We aren't doing wishes until wed that week.

Just looked & our ADR is actually 8:50. I think I was going for early entry, but knew how tired we'd be. It's probably still a good plan.

I have 2 reservations I will cancel and be happy to coordinate:

12/12 Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party for 2 8pm
12/13 Cystal Palace lunch for 3 11:35am

Please let me know if you are interested - I am in no rush to cancel

:rolleyes1

Got off the phone this morning after taking advantage of the RO discount and asked when i could book the TTFDP. She told me 180 days out even though everywhere else states 60 days. I decided to give it a shot and low and behold i was able to book for jan 15 at 7:00. Early reservation so im assuming it just opened up and im one of the first. im 93 days out though so the 60 days must not apply all the time

They said from now on the dessert party will always book out 180 days now along with all your other ADRs. So we were the last group to have a waiting thread!!!!

Not quite the last. Those of us for 12/30 & 31 are still waiting... I think we need a support group ;)

Can someone tell me what the cancellation policy is on the Dessert Party?? I really want to do this - but haven't totally figured out where we'll be what night / what park. If I snag a reservation, but can't go, how do I cancel without paying for it? THANKS!!!!!

When you make the reservation you pay right away with a credit card. If you cancel you will be refunded but you have to cancel 24 hours ahead or you still get charged.

Check the cancellation policy. It has been reported on here (you can go back and look) that the cancellation policy has changed to 5 days.

Yes it needs to be cancelled 5 days in advance I was told on the phone by the CM when I booked.
