Wishes Dessert Party ADR Watch Thread #3-book @ 180 Days Now!

Quick question... I plan on getting reservations for a party night, December 10, but we haven't purchased our MVMCP tickets yet. Do I need to have them purchased before I can make a reservation on a party night?

What are the odds are someone canceling? lol

For our last trip, I had reservations for two different nights. We decided to only go once, so I cancelled one of the reservations two days before. (I got my refund on my credit card within a couple of days, too!)

I reserved my dessert party seats for 11/14 before I knew it was party night. I bought my tickets for the Christmas party about a week later.

I missed out when October opened up so I plan on checking everyday for the date I want. I'm watching the cancellation board too.

I apologize if this has been asked before, but has anyone ever had luck walking up the day of and getting in?

Honestly, its not u usual to get a difficult ressie 2-5 days before. Its well know most cancellations occur in this time frame.

I suggest joining the Cancelled ADR threads too. They do work and you can obsess over them till the week you go! :)

What is the chance of getting a reservation for 2 the week of November 11-16? I have been trying everyday.

A party of 2 is harder to secure than larger parties as I believe they only allocate 4 tables of 2, at least that was all I noticed when I went.

One solution people have used s to book a arty of 3, 2 Adults and 1 child under 3 this way your only paying for the 2 Adults and can either show up the night of t party with 2 or some have reported calling and dropping the child off the ADR

What happens if MK fills to capacity and you have reservations for the Dec 30th dessert party?

I have reservations for California Grill, but contemplating trying to get Dessert Party instead, but I'm worried that we won't be able to get into MK....

If it gets to phase 4, you don't get in. Nobody gets in.

This was my concern on our last trip. I booked the dessert party for the 4th of July and then read the information about it filling to capacity and even if you have a dining reservation you can't get in. So, we ended up going early and staying all day. I did NOT want to be kept out of MK later in the day! IDK if it ever reached any levels but it was jam packed! But it was well worth it - we had the best view of the special 4th of July fireworks - a great end to our trip! Now, waiting for December to open up.

We are arriving at Disney on Sunday, December 22nd- we will be there 2 weeks, so there are many days we could possibly do the Dessert Party. But I am kind of hoping to book it for our night of arrival- the 22nd. My concern is do you think the park will reach capacity that afternoon, preventing us from getting in? We can't go early and spend the day, simply because we wont be getting to the resort until around noon or so. Thanks for any advice!

I don't know. The crowd calendars do have that day set as a 10. It's our last day so we won't be going to any parks at all. Now, just because it's a 10, doesn't mean you won't get in. Are you staying at a Disney resort? In all of the closure posts I've seen, I don't ever recall it getting to a Stage 4. And definitely not for the whole day. That doesn't mean it never happens, just that I haven't seen it. I would look through old posts and see if it ever happens on Christmas and New years eve. If it doesn't, I would be relatively certain you could get in on the 22nd.

I'm tempted to say you could get in, but you'd want plenty of time to get there. We hopped over to MK on a night that was a 9 and it took at least 30 minutes to get from the front of the park to the end of Main Street. So leave yourself plenty of time:)

I thought they still allowed guest with reservations into the park even when at capacity?

As mentioned above, there are 4 different stages and at a Stage 4 closure nobody is getting in.

The second post in the thread link below lists the stages and who is eligible for entry. Like I mentioned earlier, in all my time on the boards I have never seen a stage 4. It could have happened and I missed it, but what I usually see reported is stages 1 through 3. Last Christmas season I saw several days that reported various levels of closure.

GENERALLY those hard capacity closings are mid-day, like 11am to 3pm, and the gates reopen by evening. NYE would be an exception, for obvious reasons, but personally, not getting re-admitted in time for the dessert party would not be a concern on my radar. JMO
