Did you make sure Tomorrowland Terrace was listed as the restaurant? It's not the default that comes up, I only get spinny thing if I forget to change it. Hope this makes sense and helps.

Thank you so much for mentioning that. I have been trying for a couple days and was going to just give up. This worked, and I got the exact night I wanted :cool1:

ETA Just wanted to mention that when I searched for party of 6 I found more availability than when I searched for party of 5.

Thank you SO much!

I thought the website was glitched and it was driving me crazy.

Just a question for everyone's opinion....

Do you think that Disney purposely changes/hides the exact date for making reservations in order to create a hype for the dessert party?

I'm curious to hear everyone's thoughts yay or nay... I don't like to think cyinically, but it has crossed my mind from time to time. Does anyone here have other thoughts? Love to hear 'em! :thumbsup2

I think you may be on to something!! What is the point of having us all frantically checking 2 or 3 times a day so that we don't miss the opportunity to go to this crazy party! We are going in September and I've been fretting over this since April! I'm afraid I am going to go completely NUTS if I don't get this ressie soon!!

I think this is a real possibility, they know the more "hype" there is around something and the more something is "limited" the more people want it. For example look at the vault they know taking some classic movies off the market puts them in high demand. There is method to this madness. I mean I am waiting for Dec and am checking this multiple times a day (its sick!!)

Possibly but just out of curiosity I checked and most days in August still have openings. So, who knows?!

If so, I'm not sure it's working. Out of curiosity, I played around and checked most days in August. There's still quite a few openings. I'm thinking all of us September seekers will get reservations. :)

It might have something to do with hype or the feeling of "limited availability" such as the "Vault" movies as someone else suggested, but I think it has more to do with logistics.

We all know that Disney is awesome at scheduling things WAY in advance - they have to be. But the Wishes schedule changes throughout the year. I think it gives them the chance to solidify that schedule before they open the dessert party up for reservations. There are probably other factors as well, but I think this one's a good theory. Ha!

There is no conspiracy on dates and or releases. The Dis boards are very active but a normal person would come across the party via the Disney web site and or a TA.

Dates are released based on many factors like success the last month, MNSSHP or the Christmas party, and most of all when the IT personnel can get the system working for that month. Seriously it is just not normal for the majority of the population to keep checking. If they get the party okay, if not they go on.

I like this... like i mentioned, i try not to look at the cynical approach.

It just seems that Disney has a fixed date for many things. The CM will even say that the party can be booked 90 days prior when you make the reservation with them for the Dessert Party. It would be nice if they exercised that time period...that's all. For years, i'd call for a reservation and be told that they were booked, when in reality they didn't even open the event up for that month (until i saw this thread and realized otherwise). It would be nice if the public were more correctly informed when calling the reservations dept.

I also get that the party may not be available for certain dates due to other events. I'd think that they know those event dates well in advance, however some months don't have holiday events.

I do totally agree about the IT department situation...no comment there.

Well, here's hoping that Disney, and the IT department have their schechedules set to open September (and future months) in a more timely manner. (i'll be looking for May 2014 myself) :thumbsup2
