I just want to start this by saying that I feel sorry for everyone affected by the recent wildfires in FL. I do know that my question is a first world problem and it is pretty petty but......

Is there a possibility (has it ever happened in the past) that they would cease all fireworks at the parks due to the dry conditions?

Even Walt Disney World canceled its fireworks displays.
This surprises me. I live only 2 miles from the castle and hear the fireworks every night. I can't recall any nights that they didn't go off.

The only article I found was from 98 though, so that was almost 20 years ago! Not really recent :) That said they have declared a state of emergency in Florida but the counties that appear to be having the most problems are not in any of the counties that Disney World is in (which is Orange and Osceola). The counties that are being affected the most do not appear to be that close to Disney but it is worth keeping an eye on... And maybe saying a prayer (or sending good thoughts) for those under mandatory evacuation due to the fires.

And they are saying they are getting concerned that these fires could end up matching those of 98...

We are definitely sending prayers and pixie dust to the people who are evacuated and those who will potentially lose possessions. Thanks for the input!

Is there a possibility (has it ever happened in the past) that they would cease all fireworks at the parks due to the dry conditions? We have a trip planned just to see Wishes one last time and I was wondering if it could be cancelled due to the fires.

I would say there is more probability that fireworks could get cancelled due to high winds or severe weather like thunder/rain in the area. Florida is not a "dry" climate area so the chances of cancelling fireworks due to fires is slim to none. Also, if there were fires, they would close the entire park?

We were there on our honeymoon in July 1998 and there were no fireworks for the entire week we were there. They replaced them with Lazer shows.

As far as I know, that was the only time that ever happened.

It would be more along the lines of cancelling the fireworks so any falling embers or ash don't spark a fire. I think that's what the OP was inquiring about. It's really dry right now and we need some rain

Thank you, yes, that is exactly what I meant. I know that we often go through burn bans where we can not have fires or fireworks in fear of setting off a wildfire.

I hope that you get some rain soon, fires are so unpredictable and do so much damage. I really feel for people that have to be evacuated. We've recently had burn bans where I live which is unusual, everything is just too dry.

Living a few hours from Fort McMurray, a city in Alberta, Canada that was devastated by wildfires last summer and having friends who watched their home be consumed by fire via a doorbell camera I hope everyone stay safe. If there is any possibility that Disney's fireworks could cause a problem I would hope that they would cancel them.
