Wishes 10/8/11 WP/GF-- Love's First Kiss-- Trip Report Complete

Michelle sweetie - I have been terrible about commenting on people's PJ/TRs lately!!! I can assure you that I am still reading along and loving every moment!!!! I am so sorry the wedding day is over!! You certainly had the perfect day and you and Brandon are the sweetest couple in the world!!!
Looking forward to reading all about the honeymoon!!

What an amazing wedding TR, I am so happy I was able to read along and share a little joy from your day! Can't wait to read the honeymoon TR too!

Half the fun of these boards is all the photos. I say do a honeymoon TR! :goodvibes

I agreed!!!

I can't wait to get my laptop fixed to catch up. My phone....no bueno for reading.

yaaaay for honeymoon!

Yay alright! I might have some time this week to sneak in a post or two, and I can definitely get into full honeymoon TR swing after Christmas. On the first day of our honeymoon, we had dinner at Victoria & Albert's. I am SO excited to share it, it was an amazing experience!

Thank you so much, Joanne! Brandon really is the sweetest man in the world, I can't help but be crazy about him. I understand what you mean-- I realized the other day that I haven't commented on many PJs recently, but I still read a ton of them!

Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed it. There were several TRs that I read right when I joined the boards, and I just felt so swept up in the romance of those brides' wedding days. It is so exciting to me that my TR can bring that entertainment to other disboarders.

Now I can't wait (even more) to hear about it! DF and I want to do that on our first night, too. I've heard nothing but great things about Victoria & Albert's. :goodvibes

I am so glad to hear they are adding songs, thanks for passing that along! We haven't submitted anything yet-- although we were just about to give in. We were leaning toward "Enchantment" for the first song and "Magic" by Colbie Calliat for the second. The latter was added not too long ago and it has been growing on us. I am still anxious to see what new things go up, though. I hope it's not more of that royalty free crap!

Ooh..I hadn't seen any Colbie Calliat the last time I checked so maybe there's hope now!

Well, I thought I had photos of our GF room to share, but it turns out we didn't take any. How did that happen? Anyway, we got a video camera as a pre-wedding gift from my godmom, and we did happen to take some video around the room. I grouped them all together and uploaded it to youtube. It's not professional stuff, but I still love watching it!

Grand Floridian Room

Oh how I miss it!

In the same vein, I uploaded two (very short) videos from the wedding day. The first is some footage Brandon took on the wedding morning. It has some shots of my very un-makeup-ed face, oh goodness!

Wedding Morning

The second is a minute of random footage of all the ladies getting dressed. I wish I had more, my godmom carried the camera for ten minutes then totally forgot about it.

Love the video's Michelle! You did great editing and adding music to them! I wish I knew how to do things like that! hahaha I love that they are little glimpses into your morning and last few hours as a Miss! I'm going to try to remember to do the same!! :goodvibes Can't wait to hear about your HM!

Videos are amazing!!!! <3

Thank you ladies! I haven't done any video editing before, it was actually kind of exciting to try out different functions and effects. I have a few more that I will post along the TR. Tricia, you should try to take as much video as you can! You will be so happy to have those little memories captured forever. I often say the date when we make a video, because I love to think of watching it in ten or twenty years-- when we'll say "wow, look how young we were!" It will be so neat

Love your little videos too Michelle! How do you do your editing? The music and fades in etc? I just got a video camera for Christmas and would love to learn how to do that stuff too! Thanks!

Thank you! My computer came with Windows Live Movie Maker. I just played around a bit to figure stuff out. The cross fades are just a drag and drop animation. For music, it can add any audio file from your computer. Your computer probably came with a similar program. I'm interested to learn more little tricks!

Great little videos, Michelle sweetie!!! Really gives you the sense of excitement on the wedding morning!!! Well done!!

OMG those videos are sooo cute! :)

I love the wedding morning one! hehe XXX

Glorious wedding - beautiful bride - handsome groom - such is the stuff dreams are made of! Congratulations!!!

Honeymoon, Day 1

Brandon and I spent the first morning of our honeymoon getting some much needed sleep. It was wonderful. After all the early schedules of our previous week, I loved waking up naturally and just lounging on the plush bed.

We ventured out to the club level lounge for breakfast. The Grand Floridian club level was amazing. I wish we could afford to stay club level every time, it was just phenomenal. The cast members were so incredibly friendly and helpful. The club level lounge had different food and drinks available, based on the time of day. We had to walk through the lounge to get from the elevator to our room; it was so nice to be able to grab a snack and a soda on our way. We usually picked up a drink on our way to the parks as well.

Breakfast was usually an assortment of breads and pastries (with spreads), cut fruit, cereals, teas and coffees. We’re not usually big breakfast eaters, so it was plenty for us.

After breakfast, I started to worry about what to do with my dress. We were leaving for our Disney cruise in 4 days; I certainly didn’t want to take it with us, but I wasn’t comfortable with leaving it in the car, either. As I tend to do when I’m stumped, I called my mom. Our initial rule was absolutely no contact with family and friends during the honeymoon. However, I knew my mom was driving home soon, and giving the dress to her seemed like a good solution.

I took the dress (in its garment bag), and we met my mom out by the valet stand. It was kind of nice, actually, because we chatted for a minute, and mom shared some post-wedding stories with us. It really seemed like all of our guests had a fantastic time at the wedding. Brandon and I were so happy to hear it.

The weather that day was gray and rainy, so we decided to stay in the hotel. We originally had reservations for pool cabanas, but lounging poolside in the rain didn’t sound so romantic. The concierge helped us cancel the reservation. (It was kind of funny. The concierge called the recreation desk, and the CM on the phone said we would have to speak to the manager to avoid a penalty fee. The concierge politely but flatly said, “Why don’t I speak with the manager now?” It was cancelled with no fee within two minutes. Our concierge was awesome!)

We walked around the lobby shops for a while. The Grand Floridian was pretty crowded; I think lots of people were hotel-hopping because of the rain.

We were getting hungry again, so we strolled down to the Grand Floridian Café. They were absolutely swarmed! They were not accepting any parties without a reservation. This might be a little snooty of me, but I thought that since we were club level and on our honeymoon, they should have seated us anyway. I didn’t say anything though. Instead, we went back to our room and ordered some room service.

We kept an eye on the weather, and eventually noticed that it was starting to clear up a little.

So we decided to make a dash for Magic Kingdom before the rain came back!

I was pretty happy-- I was a married lady! Also notice my Diet Coke from the lounge.

-GF Club level sounds amazingly fancy and just amazing in general.
-Awesome concierge! That’s so helpful!
-Wow. I have never seen the GF Café that busy. I can’t believe they couldn’t find you a table: you were just a little party of two!
-You DO look so happy!
-We’re also doing the no-contact-with-people-after-the-wedding. Did it work for you? We’re saying goodbye to everyone at breakfast the morning after. (We’re breaking it to have lunch with my grandparents midweek, but that’s only because they’re funny and I never get to see them.)

At MK we enjoyed the brief respite from the rain. We took in some of the Main Street sites, then hit the people mover (one of my favorites— I’m such a nerd!). We luckily got under the covering of the Splash Mountain line before the rain came back.

Brandon took this picture of Brer Frog's shadow, so cool!

After Splash Mountain, we ducked in some Adventureland shops to stay dry. Brandon calls this series "Michelle Shopping"

Soon after we decided to head back to the GF. We had reservations at Victoria & Alberts that evening and I wanted to relax a bit beforehand

IMG_6087.jpg

On our way back to the GF, we got a call from our wedding planner. She told us that no one had taken the left-over bottles of Champagne (we brought our own) after the wedding. I know this shouldn't be a big deal, but can I just point out that Disney had quite nice, unopened bottles of Champagne (totally servable) and they called to let us know we left them? I mean, they could have kept them and we never would have known. It's nice when people do the right thing.

Anyway, we headed over to the convention center to pick up the Champagne. We stopped for a few photos by the marina

IMG_6099.jpg

The people at the convention center were very helpful. The manager told me my cousin Graham was a riot at the wedding! He is very charming, I wonder what he said to her :rolleyes1

Brandon headed back to the room with the Champagne, and I stopped by Basin in the lobby. I love that store! (Brandon hates it because it makes him sneeze.) It feels very luxurious to me to indulge in a new bubbly soap or silky lotion. I browsed a bit, then bought a yummy "vanilla grapefruit" body butter and an oatmeal soap. I didn't do this intentionally, but this purchase turned out to be one of my best decisions. I used that soap and lotion during the entire honeymoon. Now, when I use them, I get these wonderful scent memories and I kind of feel like I'm still on the honeymoon. I would highly recommend this to all brides! Even if it's something simple you bring from home, use a new scent for the trip. Your brain will always associate that smell with the wedding trip. On dull days, that scent is a real pick-me-up for me.

Back in the room, Brandon took some pictures of my bouquet for me. I was still madly in love! :lovestruc
