WISH Wellness Awesome October Challenge

WISH Wellness Challenge Musing Saturday, October 11, 2014: Bippity-boppity-boo your fairy godmother has whisked you to ONE Disney park to ride ONE ride -- what did you choose and why? pixiedust:

I would go to Disneyland and ride on POTC -- that is how I historically begin or end any Disney vacation. pirate:

I would have to chose the Magic Kingdom to ride It's a Small World. It was one of my dad's favorite rides when we went to the parks. He's been gone seven years, but if if my fairy godmother could whisk me away, right now, that is where I would go.

So sorry for your loss, Jenn. :flower3:

Hi everyone. I have been lurking for the last couple of months and I think it is time that I at least join in the conversation.

My name is Dona and I have not been on the WISH board since May. I am sorry that I never completed the stats in May. I don't know what happened but they just never got done.

I don't know if I am ready for the weight loss of this but I do need the encouragement that I get here.

For those of you who do not know me. I am Dona. I will be 60 next May and a month later I will be retiring from the job I have held for 38 year. I have been a high school math teacher and I am currently teaching Advanced Placement Calculus to most of my classes. I have been married to my college sweetheart for 36 years. He retired last year and just started a part time job to keep himself busy. We have two boys. ds1 is 29 living with his gf and will soon propose (he won't tell us when he is going to do it but we do know he has the ring. We are guessing the beginning of Nov which it the anniversary of when they started dating 11 years ago. They knew each other before that). He is part time teaching, part time handy man at jcpenneys and student going for his Masters in biology, which he will finish in May. Ds2 is 24 and is a student. He just finished his Masters in August and started right up with a full ride for his PHD in Civil Engineering with a concentration in transportation. He and his gf have been dating 4 1/2 years and are also talking marriage but it is a little hard when both of them don't have jobs. She just got one but is Minnesota and he is outside of Philly. We are hoping that it all works out for the both of them.

Dh and I are sandwiched. Our sons are out of the house but we are still dealing with the death of my dad in APril. He was 89 and he lived a good long life. My mom is still around and will be 82 on Thanksgiving. Dh's parents are both still around. His dad is 90 and his mom is in her late 80's. We do have siblings who help out but outside yard work seems to be dh's specialty. He does 3 lawns every two weeks and helps to straighten out his dad's overgrown jungle he calls a yard. So you can see there is a lot going on.

I am hoping to be on here at least once a day. I am trying to cut down on my computer time so that I can be more productive once I get home.

I have a big toss up here. I know I would go to the Magic Kingdom but I am torn between 2 rides.

Tomorrowland Transit since I love to relax on it and view the park. or

Pirates since I have always loved it even before I rode it because I remember seeing it on Wonderful World of Disney just like the Haunted Mansion

Off to finish dinner and get started on breakfasts for tomorrow.

Have a happy and healthy day

Dona! :yay: So nice to see you! :flower3: I'm so sorry for your loss. I knew retirement has been on the horizon for you for some time now. :cool2: New adventures ahead! ::yes::

It is tough being the sandwich generation. :crowded: I have one parent and one kid and it is hard -- you have many more balls to keep in the air.

Thanks for the link, I need to check it out!

And I would be happy to take over 10/18 with a Musing!

Thank you so much! :flower3:

Fun question!! If the fairy godmother can take me into the past, I would want to see the original Journey into Imagination at Epcot, please!! With the dreamfinder and figment. It sounds like a wonderful ride and I am really sad that I did not experience the original EPCOT which in the 80s must have been an amazing place!

But if that is not a option, I would please go to Hongkong Disneyland's Mystic Manor. It is a rather new ride that is kind of their version of the Haunted Mansion - but totally different. Here is the official website of the ride: http://park.hongkongdisneyland.com/hkdl/html/mysticpoint/en_US/index.html#/video

It is great that you have such wonderful memories of a place that your father loved so much!

Dona, great to see you back here! I am so sorry for your loss.

Sounds like both your sons are doing very well! Getting a PhD in Engineering is impressive!

I hope we can give you some support to get back into a healthy lifestyle!

Happy Monday everyone! My weekend could have been better, but it was not too bad either. I ended up using more of my weekly points than I wanted. But I was also fairly active. So far I am at 5/7 with the dairy, but it has been a fight and it certainly will not be someting I can sustain while loosing weight and have less points to eat in total. I just don't want to spend nearly a third of my points on dairy!

This week is going to be difficult as I will be travelling for work and eating out a lot. Hopefully I can make sensible choices and stay away from temptations - including a breakfast buffet that is included with my hotel.

At least the scale is getting back to where it already was the week before last. So I am hoping that I can move downwards again soon. No idea what caused that spike last week...

Full moon! I blamed everything on the full moon last week! :rotfl:

Safe travels to you this week, Magdalene! :cool2: And thank you so much for taking on a Musing question.

I'm at 4/7 mostly because the other people who live in the house drank all the milk one night. :confused3:rotfl2: You are right that this is a tough one but it is good for us to have these harder habits and keep them in the front of our minds to help us make real lasting progress! :thumbsup2

Have a great day all!

I know I've been MIA for a few days, and I'll probably be MIA for another few days, but I wanted to stop by and quickly answer the musing question.

WISH Wellness Challenge Musing Saturday, October 11, 2014: Bippity-boppity-boo your fairy godmother has whisked you to ONE Disney park to ride ONE ride -- what did you choose and why? pixiedust:

I thought about this a lot ... since I'm going to Florida in a few weeks, I'd make it California ... and do Radiator Spring Racers because I really fell in love with it last trip and I don't know when I'm going to make it back to California.

Up a couple pounds. Some may be TOM related still but some just lack of tracking food.

Still working on veggies. Gotta go buy more lettuce this evening. The week with picky eating house guest(my friend's son) kinda threw off my budget all ready. Need more veggies for this week I have some but gotta clean out fridge tomorrow night(Wednesday morning is trash pick up) and figure out some proper meal plans. Usually I tend to use leftovers but tried to be nice and ended up with too much waste. If I plan I can hopefully get two weeks of food with what I have and what's left of the budget. :crazy2:

If I can get lazy bones dd up out of bed we can take a walk when my clothes dry. I kinda waited on laundry and had nothing really clean to wear this morning and still in nightgown. :rotfl: DD couldn't fall asleep and then watched Gilmore Girls which I passed out after two and she just couldn't fall asleep so made her go take melatonin but I know she was up a bit after that. But gotta get her up or she'll be up late again. Vicious cycle kids don't understand.

WISH Wellness Challenge Musing Saturday, October 11, 2014: Bippity-boppity-boo your fairy godmother has whisked you to ONE Disney park to ride ONE ride -- what did you choose and why? pixiedust:

Hmmm usually I'd choose MK and Space Mountain but I'd be up for a random ride too. :thumbsup2

Okay off to read and catch up. Now that house is back to normal after fall break visitors I can get things back on track.

Zoesmama -- are you sporting a new clippie? did you just hit your 25 lb off! :woohoo:

ok dairy is going to be hard for me too, I actually try not to eat a lot of dairy, I think it upsets my stomach a lot. I do eat greek yogurt and some cheese, so i'll see how it goes this week.

Nah I didn't get the clippie on yet. I'm ready but was waiting to be sure I stay stable on the loss. I'm doing horrible with dairy as I also have stomach issues with it. And don't think my ice cream the other night counts. ;) Cheese and occasionally greek yogurt is all I get in dairy department.

Evening all! Just popping on for a quick hello. I won't be making my two servings of dairy today. Other than my yogurt this morning and the milk in my coffee, I haven't had any.... but I did take my calcium and D, so I call that a win!

Dinner tonight was grilled veggie wraps with garlic hummus....one of my new favorite meals! Tonight was grilled zucchini, sauteed mushrooms, sauteed red bell peppers, and carmelized onions plus raw baby spinach. Super delish and I saved some of the extra veggies for a salad tomorrow.

Off to plan tomorrow's work outfit before Survivor starts!.................P

Yeah my dairy is scant. Very little. I need to get a calcium, D and mag supplement. My calcium has been low on lab work but was back in normal range on the last one. Not sure on D it has to be requested and last time she didn't request that one. I have the supplements of D2 one a week though I gotta get it refilled. Nice thing is since I've been on them I don't recall having a cold in some time, so its quite nice for immune system.

Well done! And radishes are great to add some spice to your veggies!

---

I had an active day today and despite still being very sore today from doing a Jillian Michael's program (I thought I add in some workouts on my non-run days) on Monday, I went for the mid-week run I had scheduled for myself. I just decided to take it easy and run for half an hour at comfortable speed. And then after I got warmed up, it was so nice and pleasant! Very happy that I made the effort.

Of course I am once again hating the scale... :confused3 At least I do realise that when I am trending upwards, I am trending not as far up as three weeks ago. I guess that is something.

I got in my two servings of dairy today. I think this will be a difficult challenge for me. That's why I do take a calcium supplement on a regular basis. The problem is that I don't want to spend my points on lots of dairy products, there are other things I would rather eat. I probably get one serving on a regular basis. But to get two, I need to change my diet. I might have some dairy with my muesli in the mornings and milk in my coffee and tea during the day (but not a lot), but all portions are small.

However, I can report that I got in my 5 servings of vegetables or fruit today! I am not giving up on this just because the challenge is over! I was getting dinner and realised that I had nothing planned to go with it, so I quickly chopped up a bell pepper and had that while I was preparing dinner. Kept me from snacking before dinner and was healthy!

Oh - and I totally forgot to report another small personal victory: I am someone who always tends to clear my plate if I like the food. Both at lunch and at dinner I was able to stop when I was full and not finish it all off. It wasn't much left over, but it is the principle of being able to stop that made me happy!

I love radishes always have. My family always had them at get together meals just cleaned ready to eat whole. Now that most of us have dental issues we cut them but still almost always have them at get togethers on our platters. I'm also not done with the veggie challenge. I wanna work up to 10 a day.

Jillian really challenges me. With some more walking I may be able to challenge myself sometimes with 30DS or the other dvds I have. DD and I tried Bob's Yoga the other day but we are so far out of shape. I hate to see my 11 year old struggle with fitness stuff. I know she is about 10 to 15 over the higher end of ideal range for her age but she is tall and my brothers scale says she is healthy but we both gotta work on fitness.

Happy Thursday everyone! I have a few minutes to spare here while I'm at school, so I can to visit you!:thumbsup2

DD sent a "yes, I be delighted to participate" email to the professor about the Panama trip/class, so we are committed now. Guess I see a lot of extra work days in my future! It's expensive, but the opportunity is amazing!

I had yogurt again for breakfast in an effort to try and get in my two dairy servings.... but I think I'm going to end up stuck at 1 1/2 again today (including the skim milk in my coffee). I really don't think that cow's milk is the best choice for everyone, so it isn't something I really put a conscious effort into consuming. In fact, other than yogurt, skim milk in my coffee, and cheese, I don't do dairy. I use almond milk in my oatmeal and in things that I am baking for myself and DH (DS is allergic though). I choose goat cheese for myself when possible (DH and DS don't like it).

Never got around to making the new quinoa recipe yesterday, so I'm hoping to have time this afternoon when I get home. And when I get a minute I'm ready to share the roasted garlic and cauliflower soup recipe, now that I've tweaked it a bit!

Off to check on the Budget Board..... time to start saving some money so I can send my DD to Panama!...............P

Good luck saving for her trip. I gotta start saving for a trip to Florida and WDW next year. Will see about crafting and etsy sales. Never done that but my dd and I have had some ideas.

Ok, I blew the first week. I really do have a good excuse.:thumbsup2
And I don't eat a ton of dairy, as it really bothers my stomach, but I should use this challenge to add some dairy substitutes in my diet. But I haven't yet.:)

So not off to a good start this month. My good excuse...we moved! Finally. After years of trying to relocate, my dh took a position in NC (near Charlotte). There have been some major bumps along the way, and we are in an extended stay still, but hopeful that we will find a house soon. And if all else fails, we will go in an apartment, but really trying to avoid that!

Cooking in an extended stay is interesting. There is not an oven, but I brought along my GF and slow cooker. Tonight we are having baked potatoes from the slow cooker.

The biggest thing--I need to plan or I will have a day like today where I consume way too much sugar.

Anyhow, that's my news. I am going to make a solid attempt to keep up with the thread going forward from here.:goodvibes

And I am also going to try to find my scale. I know it is in a box somewhere--we didn't bring that much stuff in the car--but I haven't located it yet.:goodvibes

Coming clean--I am up about 30 pounds from my lowest. sigh. And a minimum of 10 from what I consider ok, but still not great. So I really need to get my head in the game!:)
I eat way to much sugar and carbs if I don't plan. :( Its tough when I start thinking about what others want to eat. Why I failed with my week long house guest.

Happy Friday everyone!!

Once again I feel towards my scale like this: :badpc::badpc::badpc:

The weird thing is that I feel thinner. The clothes fit much better, my father told me yesterday that he can see in my face that I have lost weight. But the scale moved slowly up every day this week and is now 3 pounds above what was the lowest weight last week. It is so frustrating! I wake up really puffy every morning and am sure that quite a bit of that is water weight. At least I don't have to report today's weight and can instead focus on that I am at 2/7 in our challenge.

I am still finding it difficult to incorporate the dairy. Yesterday evening I made some easy pizza (with a tortilla as a base) and topped it with low fat mozzarella. It was nice, but also had quite a lot of points and only possible because I had a lean salad for lunch. I have decided that I need to investigate the dairy portion sizes again. It can't be that I need to use up nearly 1/3 of my daily points for dairy! And that is with low fat dairy!

Pam, congratulations again. It does sound like a fantastic opportunity and I am sure if your DD is hoping to be able to work in that field after she got her degree, all those extra activities will be really helpful for her to build contacts and stand out from others. I hope the Budget Board is going to be helpful with the task of finding the money for it! :goodvibes

Rose, that is wonderful news that you finally are out of the limbo of not knowing what will happen! I hope you find a lovely house soon! And that you will feel at home in the new place!
You may be losing inches but not pounds. Especially if building muscle. Get out that tape measure and try another method. :thumbsup2

Morning all! Just a fast drive-by post to say hello! I stayed busy over the weekend with chores and of course, visiting with DD. And I'm off to both jobs today and subbing the entire week, so I'll be busy.... but I will try to find time and a computer at work today and play catch up with you all here!

TTY soon!.................P

Good morning everyone. Just a quick post. I forgot last night I was out at a costume meeting for the local high school. I am taking the lead on this one since the person who usually does it has a daughter getting married. It is a small show and not many costumes. We are also renting all of them so it is just a matter of fitting and hems.

Tonight I have another meeting to pick up things for a community theater group I also work for. They are doing Spamalot in Nov. If I put in just 10 hours of work I get 2 free tickets. I have seen a lot of show this way in the last 3 years.

My eating yesterday could have been better but it was not too bad. My biggest problem was ds2 was home and is leaving to go back to college today so I wanted to make him chocolate chip cookies. He will take most of them home so there shouldn't be too many there when I get home.

Off to start my day

Have a happy and healthy day

This week's healthy habit is exercise 20 minutes a day for five days.

Weightlifting_Mickey_Mouse-1MdWht.gif

You get one point for each day you hit 20 minutes of exercise. Everyone starts off with 2 points because rest is an important component of activity. :cool2:

This challenge starts on Wednesday, October 15th and ends Tuesday, October 21st. Report your results by posting on Tuesday or Wednesday. There will be new habit for the following week.

Note that the actual recommendation for activity for adults is 150 minutes a week or 30 minutes a day but you only have to hit 20 minutes a day for credit for our challenge.

Read more about it here from the Mayo Clinic:

How do I find time to exercise you ask? Read more about that from the nice folks at sparkpeople.com

Don't forget to report your results from the challenge that ends today!

I am SO HAPPY to see you back! You have been missed.... and thought about often!! So glad it seems like life is finally settling back into a routine. Hopefully you can be permanently settle before the end of the year.

Ooo, I'm going to check out the garlic and cauliflower soup recipe! :cool2: Are both the garlic and cauliflower roasted? :yum:

I'll get it posted when I can get to Pinterest.... too many filters on the internet here at school.

It is so exciting the DD has this opportunity! pixiedust: for that scholarship!

Yup.... praying for the full scholarship amount available (which would cover about 1/4 of the trip), but will obviously be super happy no matter what she gets!

Now I need some help from all of you please. :flower3: There are three Saturdays left in this challenge. Could two people please volunteer to do a Musing for one of these days? I have 10/18 and 10/25 available. I would be very appreciative! ::yes::

You know I'll do whatever it takes to keep this challenge running smoothly, so go ahead and put me in wherever/whenever it is needed!!

WISH Wellness Challenge Musing Saturday, October 11, 2014: Bippity-boppity-boo your fairy godmother has whisked you to ONE Disney park to ride ONE ride -- what did you choose and why? pixiedust:

Soarin at DCA..... for some reason it seemed super magical when we were there in 2005.... I remember it so fondly.... it was definitely a Pixie Dust moment from that trip. Even thought DCA isn't my favorite park, I would go back just for that!!

Hi everyone. I have been lurking for the last couple of months and I think it is time that I at least join in the conversation.

SO happy to have ANOTHER friend coming back to join us!! You have been missed!

I'm sure this last year of teaching will be a combination of excitement to think about the new adventures ahead and sadness to be leaving something you've been doing for so long!

I would go to Disneyland and ride on POTC -- that is how I historically begin or end any Disney vacation. pirate:

How nice to have a tradition like that. Sadly, the few traditions that we seemed to try to start mostly involved Toontown, which is gone.

I'm at 4/7 mostly because the other people who live in the house drank all the milk one night. :confused3:rotfl2: You are right that this is a tough one but it is good for us to have these harder habits and keep them in the front of our minds to help us make real lasting progress! :thumbsup2

Our milk sometimes seems to disappear overnight as well! As long as they leave a splash for my morning coffee, I don't complain!

Good morning everyone. Just a quick post. I forgot last night I was out at a costume meeting for the local high school. The theater tickets are a great reward for your volunteer work.

DH would like to have made cookies for DD to take back to school yesterday, but since NONE of us need the sugar/calories, he did not. But the good news is that DD really liked the cinnamon quinoa bake I made, so I told her I'd make a batch and bring it to her when I visit in 2 weeks for Parents' weekend. It is healthy, low sugar, and has protein.

This week's healthy habit is exercise 20 minutes a day for five days.

Don't forget to report your results from the challenge that ends today!

Well, you KNOW I will struggle with this one.... and of course, it has to come on my double work day. Not sure I will manage to get 20 minutes in today since I didn't get up early to exercise..... but I won't give up yet!

I am reporting in as 4/7 for the dairy challenge.... it got away from me over the weekend.

But if that is not a option, I would please go to Hongkong Disneyland's Mystic Manor. It is a rather new ride that is kind of their version of the Haunted Mansion - but totally different. That sound cool!!

Happy Monday everyone! My weekend could have been better, but it was not too bad either. I ended up using more of my weekly points than I wanted. But I was also fairly active. I just don't want to spend nearly a third of my points on dairy!

That is pretty much how I would describe my weekend as well.... used up a lot of my Weekly PPV, but stayed active and it wasn't bad overall. It's all about learning BALANCE, right???

This week is going to be difficult as I will be travelling for work and eating out a lot. Hopefully I can make sensible choices and stay away from temptations - including a breakfast buffet that is included with my hotel.

At least the scale is getting back to where it already was the week before last. So I am hoping that I can move downwards again soon. No idea what caused that spike last week...

I'm sure that traveling makes it extra hard. Do you know what kinds of foods will be on the breakfast buffet? Perhaps you can decide ahead of time what you will and won't eat on the buffet??

***************

Okay friends.... this is attempt number 2 at posting all of this. The "Poof Fairy" already had a visit, so if you are seeing this, that means I banished her finally!

Kiddos are in library, I need to spend some time reviewing for tonight's WW meeting. I will be going straight there from here, so I'll have a bit of time in the car as well, to grab a coffee and review. Dinner is in the crockpot for the men, but I forgot to put my overnight oats in the fridge, so I'll have to think about what my dinner is going to be. It will need to be something quick and easy as I will be very hungry by the time I get home. I'm thinking probably a small salad and some carrots with hummus.... but we'll see what sounds appealing by 8 pm!

TTYL.........................P

Okay off to read and catch up. Now that house is back to normal after fall break visitors I can get things back on track.

How nice to be able to use your sewing skills to score some free theater tickets. ::yes::

:cool1: A challenge I know I can make! ;) I failed at the dairy. I definitely need to go back and read other ways to get dairy in.

And I need to find my scale! :)

I know when I came up with this one I thought the same thing! :rotfl:

The dairy challenge was definitely a toughie and this and the fruits and vegetable challenge helps to remind me that I need to be mindful of basic nutrition every single day. :rolleyes1

You know I'll do whatever it takes to keep this challenge running smoothly, so go ahead and put me in wherever/whenever it is needed!!

Thanks! :flower3: I put you down for the Musing on Saturday 10/25.

Soarin at DCA..... for some reason it seemed super magical when we were there in 2005.... I remember it so fondly.... it was definitely a Pixie Dust moment from that trip. Even thought DCA isn't my favorite park, I would go back just for that!!

It is wonderful to see Soarin' in CA! ::yes:: You would be glad you went back for World of Color if you ever go back west too. :cool2:

Well, you KNOW I will struggle with this one.... and of course, it has to come on my double work day. Not sure I will manage to get 20 minutes in today since I didn't get up early to exercise..... but I won't give up yet!

You're off the hook for today because this challenge doesn't start until tomorrow! ;)

Plus I know that you walk for more than 20 minutes every single day you are working so I know you've got this! :thumbsup2

Over slept today got so much to get done for dd's school this week. We enjoyed our fall break from it. I crocheted a bunch. Even yesterday because I have to sit with her or she gets off track so I sat and crocheted a hat while she did school when I wasn't helping.

Read more about it here from the Mayo Clinic:
http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-living/fitness/expert-answers/exercise/faq-20057916

How do I find time to exercise you ask? Read more about that from the nice folks at sparkpeople.com
http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/fitness_articles.asp?id=1675

Don't forget to report your results from the challenge that ends today!

I know I can do this one. Dairy hard for us lactose intolerant people. I use cheese some days and occasionally when I can afford it I will have greek yogurt(so expensive). I can take one of the Saturday questions maybe 25th if still open. It will be better because I have a lot to get done by Friday and I'll be more concentrated on that then finding/thinking of a question.

Nice to see you.

calcium is even in some non dairy foods just in smaller amounts but I have found that sesame seeds have quite a bit and I love those. :thumbsup2

where is this month gone? it's half over! I knew this would be a hectic month. last weekend my mom came over and we attended a crop all weekend. and next week i'll be gone visiting friends all week (during the week) in Amish country in IN in a cabin with no internet! or cell coverage! what will I do! :faint:

dairy was tricky for me... I'm reporting 3/7...I did terrible!!!

zoesmama - that hat is adorable!!

dona - :welcome: back!!! I'm glad you are here!

on the weekend question...I would definitely go to Disneyland Paris! any ride is fine! is there a Haunted Mansion there?

I'm at 4/7 for calcium/Vitamin D. Forgot my Vitamin D pill twice, but those were also days when I didn't have 2 servings of calcium.

I ended up getting a lot of calcium from my Tropicana OJ with Calcium (I was sick last week, so I was drinking it anyway), and the rest came from almonds, some milk and cheese ... and a little bit of enriched soy milk.

This week's healthy habit is exercise 20 minutes a day for five days.

Should be a breeze for me ... assuming we count all exercise and not just high-intensity exercise.
I do a lot of walking, which I tend to count because most of the time I make the conscious choice to walk rather than driving or taking a bus. I'll probably get in 20 minutes of walking at least 4 times, plus I'll probably do a walk/run either Monday or Tuesday ... so I should be golden.

Finally, a challenge I'll have no problems with.

:wave2: everyone! Sorry I haven't been chatting lately ... I've been reading, but not really up to checking in myself. Hopefully next week I'll be back to my normal self, but for now ... I'm not doing too great :(. Oh well, this too shall pass. I just have to keep trying to come out on the other side.

I'm putting on the calendar!!:thumbsup2

And I made a PLAN to get in a good 60 minute walk/run today and I've got my gym bag and sneakers on the counter, ready to go! DS is mentoring an FLL robotics team and he needs a ride today. It is about 45 minutes from home, so there is no sense in my driving home because he is only there about 90 minutes.... so I will be walking/running during this time!

I should look into some of the foods I eat.... maybe I am getting more calcium than I thought. Thanks for the heads up about the seeds~!

Have a wonderful time at the crop. I haven't TOUCHED my scrapping stuff in MONTHS:sad1:

Morning all! I am caught up here, but must dash to work now! I have had my healthy breakfast and my healthy OP lunch is packed along with plenty of liquids. I have my exercise bag ready to go and a plan in place to be sure I get at least my 20 minutes in, so it should be a great day!

I'll try to pop on during the day if I can!...........................P

I've read that Phantom Manor is the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland Paris and it is the darkest Haunted Mansion in any park and looks quite different from the other mansions. I would love to see it someday, too. :thumbsup2

Have fun in Amish country! I'm sure you will come back rested and refreshed from your technology break. ::yes::

Sounds like you are all ready for a great day, Pamela! :cool2:

Does your DS have his license yet? Mine has his permit and will be driving himself around in January. :faint: It's nice to be able to take some time out for YOU in between chauffering duties. ;)

WISH Wellness Challenge Musing Wednesday, October 15, 2014: What is one of your favorite songs on your workout playlist? Have you added any new songs lately? If you don't workout to music, is there a song that inspires you?

I added a really cool song by Lindsay Stirling called Transcendence that I had never heard before from this sparkpeople list for my run last night.

I'm always looking for new music to add to my running playlist even if I only listen with one earbud when I am outside. Sometimes you need to the distraction of music. :music:

I am about to update the results from the last challenge so please post your results if you haven't already. :goodvibes

Thanks for offering to take a question but someone beat you to it this time. :flower3:

I love the hat! Even though I can't believe that it is cool enough there yet to need it. ;)

I am back from my trip. Eating was ok-ish. I cuold have made better choices, but I also made quite a few very good choices. I was able to walk my 10000 daily steps. So all in all, I am happy with myself as it proved to me that I can be responsible with my food choices if I put energy into it.

Now I am looking forward to going for a run tonight to start off this weeks challenge!!

On the dairy challenge I can report 5/7. And the other two days I had at least one serving of dairy.

One of the interesting things I learned from doing some research on calcium is that oats are very rich in calcium! So my favourite breakfast of oats with dairy is really good in that regard!!

WISH Wellness Challenge Musing Wednesday, October 15, 2014: What is one of your favorite songs on your workout playlist? Have you added any new songs lately? If you don't workout to music, is there a song that inspires you?

Favorite song depends on the day. There are two that I added recently that I like a lot - "Chandelier" by Sia and "Toro" by Subliminal (it's an Israeli rap song that has a really good beat). I also like a lot of my older stuff. "Heart of a Champion" by Nelly is one that always encourages me to work a little harder.

My playlist is a lot of rap ... which is weird because I don't normally listen to rap, but I find it often has a good beat for running.
