What a cutie he is!!

8 more days until Disney?party:

WOOHOOOO are you ready?

Amy, your little guy is such a cutie!

Misty and Denise...I am so excited for you!!! How can you stand it?! I don't know how I'll be able to contain myself when our turn comes :goodvibes

We should hear from Sebastian's orthepedic surgeon tommorow morning. We're banking on her agreeing with the oncologist and giving us GOOD news so we went ahead and scheduled his surgery to have his central line removed on September 15th. Tommorow morning will hopefully be his last port flush! YAY! We are however taking him to the pediatrician tommorow afternoon because he has had a cough (without any other symptoms) for the past three weeks. With his disease the tumors can sometimes metastasize to the lungs. Hopefully I'm just being paranoid!!!

Please let us know what you find out. I've been thinking of you guys. It's easy for us mom's to worry when we've seen our kids go through so much.

Getting the line out is such a big deal! Dilly had to have 4 while we were in. Each time they removed one I felt that much closer to him being better. That's one tough little guy you have there Amber. He's lucky to have a mom that loves him SO much:goodvibes

Our prayers are continuing for Sebastian! I am just sure that the news will be good.

We are getting really excited! Lindsey and the kids came over because we got 2 packages in the mail today. Colored pencil rollups and autograph books. The kids were so excited that they wanted to collect my autograph! I had to explain that the pages were for Disney World and famous people so we practiced on regular pieces of paper writing names and getting each others autographs. I am hoping that Lindsey is going to post the pictures on the PTR.

Amy, your Nick is so darling. He has that "cool, man about town" look doesn't he! thanks for sharing the pictures.

Less than 13 days now!:cheer2:

Hi everyone. I've been lurking here for a while, just reading and soaking it in until I had a chance to post.

We submitted our request for our Daughter Emily to get a wish through North Texas Make A wish orgainzation about a month ago. Emily has been through so much over the last year (dx 9/20/07 with bilateral wilms tumor, tumor removal surgery, infections, stent procedure, stent removal, stent surgery again, stent removal again! and another nephrostomy bag which she has now) that I finally convinced DH to let me apply to MAW for her. We were told that she was eligable and that they'd assign wish granters. Well tonight Emy finally got to meet her granters and make her wish. It was so awesome (we actually went to MAW!)

She wished to go on the disney boat. :goodvibes We were told by our granters that that shouldn't be a problem. Now it's figuring out when to go. Unfortunately Emy needs another surgery in a few weeks (9/17) and then she'll need another procedure (to remove a stent from the 9/17 surgery) so I think we'll just have to see.

Anywho.. I thought I'd introduce myself, say hello and stop lurking (I hope).

:)
thanks for having me here!

:welcome: dana i'm glad your coming out of lurking. I'm looking forward to getting to know more about you and your family. I hope her surgery goes o.k.

Welcome Dana, your daughter Emily seems like a real trooper! I will say my prayers that her upcoming surgeries are a success. I can't wait to hear all about her and her wish.

I probably have only flown a half dozen times in my life and only 1 time with my family- and that was 5 years ago. We are flying SW- same as we flew 5 years ago. I know they don't have assigned seats- there were different groups that boarded ( A first, B second etc). But Nathan was 4 then so we got to preboard. It is very important to us to be at least somewhat together. We will get there early, but is there any chance they would let a Wish family pre-board? Even if we don't have any "extra" equiptment like a wheelchair or anything. We only have 40 minutes to make our connecting flight in St. Louis. I am guessing the chances of us sitting together then are very low.

Also, we leave OKC at 9:45am, land at St. Louis at 11:05 and leave at 11:45. Arrive at Orlando around 3:00pm. When do we eat lunch? Can I bring food with us- at least snacks or something- to eat on the plane? I can't take liquids on, right? But if I buy a bottle of water in the terminal ( after going through security) can we take it on the plane with us? I'm afraid we will have 4 very cranky kids if they have to wait until after 3:00 to eat lunch-even though it is only 2:00pm in our time zone. Not to mention a cranky mom- I am severely hypoglycemic and get sick if I go too long without food.

It has taken me a while to catch up since we got back from our wish trip. We flew Southwest and had no problems. As soon as we got through security, we went to the gate check in and told the people that we were on a MAW trip and that we were told to get a pre boarding pass. They had no problem giving us one on the way down and on the way back home. We got some of the first few seats and we all sat together. There are 7 of us. We also brought snacks and McDonalds on the plane. I saw people bringing all kinds of food on the plane.
We had a wonderful time despite a 4 day visit from Tropical Storm Fay. We put on rain ponchos and did the best that we could.
We only ran into 1 grouchy CM, most of the time we were treated like royalty :) GKTW is an awsome place. Even my older kids (19 &17) thought it was cool.

Thanks for all the nice comments on Nick.. yes, he thinks he is that "cool" he is always posing for pics.. I can't get a nice natural one. LOL

Amber, still praying for Sebastian. Nick had three central lines for TPN when he was little, the last one was pulled on Halloween and oddly that is when one of dates for this MAW trip might be, I am almost wishing that we get that one because that night has always been special to us.

Misty.. omgosh.. you must be giddy with excitement!

Crissy (I think that is your name) I love the pics of your girls! I have one girl but she is almost thirteen and is sooo not into cute little dresses anymore, only jeans, chuck taylors, hoodies and coloring her hair! oh.. I miss the pretty pretty princess days!

Love the pictures. I am so sorry that your trip this time didn't get to be everything you hoped for and that Mia struggled at times but there is one good thing...Disney World isn't going anywhere and hopefully, in the very near future another magical trip there will be in the works for your darling family. Thanks so much for letting us help a tiny bit to make things fun for you all.

We are getting pretty excited for our trip. At times the kids (and the adults:laughing: ) are counting down in 1/2 day increments. This week I have been to the airport 3 times and still have one more trip today to pick up my husband and everytime I drive up to the airport I think It will soon be time for Disney World!

Again, thanks for the cute pictures. I think about you often as do the rest of my family. They were just asking about you yesterday! I am excited to share your pictures with them.

Thanks! I have over 500 on my camera and about 700 on my photopass cd that just came yesterday. We have been super super busy since we got home and its only going to get worse in the up coming weeks ie; cheerleading, dance, soccer and swimming. George and I discussed a trip next June as a celebration that her treatment will be over but we both are afraid she will have the same type of reaction when it comes time. So we may do a trip to Va Beach to see some friends for a 4 day weekend or such. Possibly we will try to get to Disney for Mnsshp of 09 we shall see which way the tide takes us. Thank you everyone for the kind words, I am just afraid to do a trip report and talk about how the not so good time we had. I don't want to scre anyone or ruin anyones fun:cutie: instead I will sit back and read everyone elses great TR's and live it through them

Hey. I know I haven't been on here in a while, there's just so much to keep up with. :) I'm just wondering if there's anybody else on the WTU that is from GA? That would be awesome to meet somebody on here that's from where we live. I've met some great people already, but it's awesome to meet more. :) I have my son's PTR thread if you'd like to see it. I have tons and tons of pics on there as well as what's wrong with him. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1932504
