Wish Trippers...Unite!! Volume One

Amber- those pictures are amazing! Your son is adorable...and I'm so happy that all is going well!

Thanks to all of those who responded. I was just so infuriated, I knew you all would understand. I'm not sure what action MAW will take, but I hope it's something good!

If you have not already check out my super detailed itinerary in our trip report. Some of my comments in purple include the "why" of us planning to do certain things given our kids ages and past experiences. It also includes pictures from our last trip.

I hope this helped!

Amber,
Yes, thank you!! That was quite helpful! :) And I've been reading your very informative itinerary too and found it helpful. I think we will try one day and see how they do napping in the strollers. The only problem is that Lydia rarely falls asleep in one (but I have a good feeling that she might just be tuckered out enough) and Tobias needs the stroller to keep moving if he's going to sleep for a long time (but we might just have to do something that keeps us moving then, like walking one of the trails in Animal Kingdom). On other days we'll probably just do the parks in the morning and then go home after lunch some time and stay there until bedtime. I'm sure there'll be lots for us to do there too. And if we change our minds, we can always hop in the car. :) I can't WAIT!!!!!!!

Hello! Whenever Mark is in the hospital, he enjoys doing some quiet craft projects with me - maybe the Child Life specialists have supplies, but you could also bring some of your own. The favourite movie idea is also a good one.

I was very interested - and concerned - when you told us about Hank's surgery, because Mark also has a g-tube. I hadn't heard about the prolapse issue, and I'm sorry to hear that Hank has to go through this. If it wasn't G/I surgery, I'd be suggesting planning for some special/favourite food, but that's probably not a good idea here.

Did your list include something to read? I used to bring magazines because that suited my level of concentration when we're in hospital - and they're always good to pass along to other parents, or the nurses. And lots of body lotion/moisturizer...always so dry in the hospital!

We'll be thinking of you and Hank...

Alison

it is almost always freezing at riley.

I bring the basics PLUS:

afghan (for aj)
electric blanket (for me, he can't have this because it would elevate his body temp unnaturally)
books
book light
fave dvds
snacks
clothes
laptop

I ordered ours online and they came in a regular legal sized envelope. Did they send you an email confirmation or did you need to print it off when you made the reservation? I would think that you should have some recourse through the credit card company or bank in that they should be able to track it and help you in some way. Don't give up without a darn good fight! There has to be a simple solution. Good luck. I do think it took a few weeks for our tickets to come but they had to come to Utah.

:flower3:  :goodvibes

This is random...but Lauren always wanted chapstick or lip gloss or something...something that isn't scented. So when she couldn't eat, her lips would not be so dry. Especially if she had to have oxygen or something.

And Q tips... :)

And she sleeps with a fan. ?? I actually bought one for her one hospital stay.

Just random thoughts from "not the momma" :)

I am so glad it worked out. We just loved MNSSHP. There were no lines. Space Mountain 2 times in a row with no line! Trick or Treat stops everywhere with lots of candy for kids and adults! They even provide cute trick or treat bags if you need them or the first one gets too full. Fabulous fireworks and I hear the Parade is wonderful. We missed it because Karlyn wanted to dance.princess: It was so worth it to watch her having so much fun that I don't even feel bad we missed it.

I am truly excited for you!

I am so glad we got tickets! Lauren is getting a makeover that afternoon...so she will be all decked out for the party! :) I just can't wait!!!!! I think we are actually planning on missing the parade. The kids will already see 2 of them before Thurs...so we think they will pretty much be paraded out. We figure the parade time will be a great time to catch some rides. Lauren is real excited about the dance stuff, too. :) William thinks is going in his Karate suit. How fun! I am going to be "cat in the hat"...

I have enjoyed Karlyn's trip report! I am headed over there now to see the update I missed!! :) Yeah. Getting excited!!! 9 days left!

all these trip reports get me excited. I will make mine as soon as I hear back from MAW on our definite dates. I think it will be in Feb.

Yeah, that is an awesome list amber, I might have to copy and paste it for future ref. I always pack the kitchen sink unfortunately and forget what we really need! :)

Excuse me - the old lady's memory gets shorter every day. Someone's child "wished" for a cruise. If you're the mom, will you please pm me the child's snail mail addy? I have some stuff from our cruise to pass along.

Thanks.
