Wish Trip DCL Dream July 8-13 2012

OK Michelle, if appliqueing is easier than sewing then I certainly want to learn it!! I enjoy the little bit of sewing I did, but it takes me a long time, I can't just whip up those little dresses in 30 minutes like the video's say.

Kids are excited 3 packages of Mickey mail for them to open today!!

The first one was a special one for Aziza! It came from CJ Bear

Aristocats outfit!!!

CJ Bear made an awesome skirt to go with the top!

Adorable outfit!! Aziza loves how the skirt is straight on one side and ruffle layers on the other. Such a cute look.

Aziza loves the Aristocats and loves the outfit you made her CJ Bear!! It sure made her feel great to get that special gift. She can't wait to wear it! Thank you so much!

The second package is from Jen (scouthawkk)

Aziza just found her bag of Disney trading pins!! (Reed put on a couple of character silly bandz right away and wore them the rest of the day)!

Aziza loves the skirt you made and super cute how you attached one of her pins to the bow! (Reed liked her lip balm. )

The whole gift: Skirt for Aziza to coordinate with anther top that will be coming. Two reusable swim diapers for Reed. He loves to go swimming!! 11 Disney trading pins total!! (Of course we had to go add them to their lanyards from Colleen. ), spider man stickers, silly bandz, Tinkerbell lip balm, Princess journal and Spiderman poster set.

Thank you Jen for the AWESOME gift! The kids were super excited to have more pins for trading and Reed will get lots of use out of his new swim diapers!! It is so hot in Tx and you gotta go swimming all summer long! Aziza loves the skirt you made and can't wait to see the shirt that goes with it too. Please tell your son thanks for picking out the silly bandz and pins for the kids! Thank you both so much for the thoughtful gifts!!!

Tie Dye Mickey shirts for the whole family!! We love them!! Thank you Emily for picking out the bright and happy colors for us!!

Reed had fallen asleep already (yeah that fast!) so we got Aziza to take a picture of Roy and I trying on our new shirts.

Reed when he crashed out on the couch after opening his Mickey mail. In his Maximus shirt from Ann, under his sister's Minnie blanket from Ruth, on his Woody pillowcase from Jodi, with his pacifier keeper from Cherly and is silly bandz on from Jen. LOVE IT! Thank you ladies so much for the sweet dreams he is having with so many of his big give gifts surrounding him!

Glad you like the pillowcase dress. I want to learn a few more simple patterns so I can pick Disney fabric and contribute to other peoples Big Gives later. I know it is nothing compared to the much more elaborate outfits we are receiving, but I have to start learning somewhere. You women are my inspiration!

Sewing is so much fun. I am glad for you that you have started to learn how to make some things for your kids.

We took Reed to Minnesota for his 3rd visit in the Natural History Study of Sanfilippo syndrome. He recovered quickly from anesthesia and everything went fine. I want to post a few pictures of the kids wearing their outfits or playing with their big give gifts.

Soooooo glad to hear everything went well!

Mall of America (we go there every single evening every time we go to Minnesota)! Aziza being silly in her Jessie outfit!!

Day 3 we just arrived at the hospital it is 5:40am and Aziza is all packed with goodies to keep busy while Reed is in the OR. Thank you Glenda for the purse!! (What do you think of this pillowcase dress?? I made it).

Great job! Making pillow case dresses is how I started out....that was 9 months ago....and I am addicted to sewing now


That is the end of our trip! Hope you enjoyed seeing it and thank you for all the great items that made our trip more enjoyable! I know we had a few more items with us, but they didn't all end up in my pictures. I know Reed's football Mickey bag was hanging on my mommy hook on the back of his stroller the whole trip (very handy)! Thank you Leah! and I know Reed used his pacifier keepers from Cheryl and Deborah everyday they are in the pictures but I forgot to point them out. Hope I am not forgetting anything else.

All right, now that we are back to our house it is time for Mickey mail!! The kids couldn't wait to get home to see if anything came. 4 packages came while we were gone. Reed and Aziza are excited to open them up!

The first package was from Jodi (Disname?)

Crochet dolls!! Wow, that must have been hard to make!! Reed loves his Woody doll.

Aziza loves hers too and I think it looks like a mini her doll. Especially with the same color shirt on! Too cute!!

They really enjoyed playing with these together!

They each got a wonderful new pillowcase too! I waited until they fell asleep tonight so I could get a picture of them both asleep with their new gifts. I love the cowboy print you put on the end of Reed's pillowcase Jodi!

Is that not the most adorable picture!! I know it looks staged, but I promise you it is NOT she was sound asleep this way when I went in to get her picture. Aziza's owl pillowcase is soooo cute too!!

Thank you Jodi for crocheting the kids both dolls and making them new pillowcases!! They are cherished gifts!

Wow! What great Mickey mail! I have learned for future BG that I need to better decorate the outside packaging! Sorry I am just catching up on the past week of posts and didn't quote everything but you really received some wonderful BG items this week! I love the dolls, the Rapunzel dress and matching Maximus shirt for Reed, the Marie outfit....I could on and on, just wonderful stuff all around!!

Reed found Pez!! You just made him real happy! I think he was eating that candy through all his package openings tonight!

A Disney princess puzzle for Aziza and a Woody pencil bag for Reed

Aziza loved that she got paper dolls!!

Thank you Cathy for making them each a cruise notebook! They are so nice!

The whole package. They each got cruise notebooks, Disney character Silly bandz, Pez candy dispensers and Disney puzzles. Then Reed got a Mickey coloring set, Toy Story stationery set and Woody pencil bag. Aziza also got some Disney paper dolls, princess coloring set and Disney hair accessories. Roy and I got a gift too. A Mickey magnet for our door!! some mints, a cool mini Mickey mouse clip board set, playing cards, a pen and I got a Dream eye mask for sleeping.

Thank you so much Cathie for the really nice gifts. I especially love the notepads you made. Those are so cute! As you can see from the pictures Reed dug right into his Pez and Aziza was going for a sleep over tonight and took her new gifts along to play with! Thank you so much for getting all that for us.

I L-O-V-E the Disney cruise ships you put on the shirts!!

A Disney cruise shirt for each of us and Reed got a Mickey pacier keeper and a purple one too. Those are going to coordinate great with his other outfits!!

Roy is modeling his awesome new shirt.

I always feel the same way about remodeling...why can they do it in an 1/2 hour and it takes us months

I'm still following along! I just love those Cruise shirts with the ship on them! And Reed has a bib to match his! Your kids are going to be so sad when a day arrives where there is no mail for them -- you had better start preparing them!
