:goodvibes Michelle you are right, so many wonderful gifts!!

Glad you like the pillowcase dress. I want to learn a few more simple patterns so I can pick Disney fabric and contribute to other peoples Big Gives later. I know it is nothing compared to the much more elaborate outfits we are receiving, but I have to start learning somewhere. :) You women are my inspiration!

I love seeing the kids with all their new things! The dress you made is adorable, how cool and comfy it looks! I love all of the pictures of Reed with his blanket. He just touches my heart in a special way. Aliza is such a loving big sister for him and you can see it in your pictures. Have a great day and rest up from your trip. I hope you learn something from all the testing Reed had.

happy Reed's testing went well and looks like you all had fun at the MoA, love that you wore your new outfits and used the great travelling goodies!

you did a great job on the pillowcase dress...I don't sew, so always amazed at what the BG ladies create, know your dresses will be a hit too!

love the rapunzel set, SO cute! and lots of other fun goodies too, the crochet dolls are AMAZING!

First, I love the dress you made for Aziza! It turned out great and I really like the flower button too :) Such pretty colors in the fabric! You will be hooked on sewing before you know it. The shorts pattern we use for Reed is sooooo easy to make that I know you could make those as well:
http://www.youcanmakethis.com/produ.../easy-fit-pants-for-dolly-and-me-boys-too.htm

The pattern is a little pricier than what you find in the stores, but it's so well written and gives you a mini-sewing lesson as you are making them. You can print it out in all different sizes.

It really looks like you turned what could have been a not so fun hospital visit into a great trip! What an awesome mom you are for providing so much fun for your kids!

Love all the new gives! Amy (who sent the beach towels) went on a wish trip a couple of years ago and was pixie dusted by a few sewers and now she has learned to sew up a storm. In case you didn't notice, she lives in the same city as me so I've helped her get a good start and she is making some fabulous things for her trip next week. She even bought an embroidery machine!

Those crochet dolls are amazing and I love the kids sleeping pics with them -- Aziza looks like she fell out of a storybook. And Ann always does amazing work.

loving all the pictures

The pillowcase dress looks great! I am a new sewer and it was one of the first things I made, my youngest has sensory issues and needed something without seams:) she has a mini stockpile of pillowcase dresses now for our trip in september.

I can second the easy fits pants/shorts pattern, I have made pairs for my son and older daughter and they really are great, and were easy enough to tackle as my 2nd project :)

Lots of helpful ladies in the disboutiquers thread too :)

Oh Andrea thank you! :goodvibes
I really appreciate that link! I was hoping to eventually find a pattern for shorts for Reed! I love the ones that have been coming in his big give sets!!

Amy is really lucky to live by you Andrea!! I have to admit I did spend one evening looking up embroidery machines online. But I told myself to SLOW down. I can barely sew, so one thing at a time. I just love the beautiful stuff that is being created for us and I want to learn to do it too. :)

Those towels Amy made are great!! They will get lots of use too. Last year for Reed's birthday I bought him one of those mega inflatable water play things with a slide, bounce house/pall pit area and pool. It is hard to take him places and when we do often the other children do not play with him much, so I was thinking this new item might do the trick. Sure enough the next door neighbors kids come running outside shortly after we set it up b/c they want to play too. :) So we end up with lots of kids in the yard which is perfect because Reed has playmates and it is a contained fenced in area where we don't have to worry about him. So needless to say with so many wet kids we can go through the towels pretty quickly! Now Aziza and Reed have their own special towels with their names on them!! :woohoo:
I agree the crochet dolls are AMAZING! What a very special gift.

Love the pics of the kids all dressed up at the hospital and at Mall of America...looks like you all had some fun!:banana::banana::banana: Happy to hear his testing went well, too.

Thanks for sharing so many wonderful pics! :cloud9:It really warms our hearts ( I'm pretty sure all the other BG'ers feel the same) to see them enjoy the gifts. Glad the dress fits Aziza. She is gorgeous as it is but I just adore that purple on her and I'm sure it will look stunning on Reed, too! Welcome home...pretty soon you'll be packing up for your cruise! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

That is awesome that you can just make pillowcase dresses for Madelynn and it solves the problem of bothersome seams!! I am sure she is gonna look super cute for your Sept. trip! Will you be going to WDW or a different trip?
I plan to make those shorts my #2 project now too! I actually gave the pillowcase dresses a try back in Feburary after I first learned to make my FE gifts. My first one was a Valentines Day one, then the one in the picture, then I made a Disney one that actually looks great with the flip flops you made Aziza!!! I bought a few girls patterns to try, and I got them all printed out and cut out and the material bought and washed and ironed...then I ran out of spare time and have made nothing since except more of my FE gifts! Darn!! I need more time to sew!!
Here is a picture of the Mickey head pillowcase dress I made with your shoes.

Thank you Ann! :goodvibes I adore the clothes you made and the color is Perfect! Reed's favorite and it even matches his hearing aids!! :wizard:

I can't wait to pack up all their big give gifts for the cruise! Thank you!!!

The pillowcase dresses you made are absolutely adorable.

Thanks Deborah!! I know mine are real plain and simple in comparison to what we have been getting, but I know how long it took me to make those simple dresses, so I have great appreciation for what goes into the ones we have been receiving!! The sewing is the easy/fun part. It is the shopping for materials, washing, ironing, cutting patterns, cutting material, sewing, ironing, sewing, ironing, ect that make it a true gift of love because so much work goes into it!! I have NO idea how you did two button down men's shirts for Roy and Reed, but I know you put SOOO much time and thought into the gifts you sent us! Thank you so much and thank you for your kind words about my dresses! :goodvibes

Omg that's perfect!
Yes we are going to WDW..the twins will be just shy of 5 so I think it will be a good trip:). I may be going a bit nutty with the clothes and my newfound love of sewing:rotfl: maddie has about 6 or 7 pillowcase dresses now and I think only 2 are not Disney ....and then there's the shorts for Gavin. I may need an intervention :rotfl2:

That's beautiful!!!! You seriously need to come visit us on the Disboutiquer's thread!

Actually appliqueing is easier than sewing:lmao:

I just started sewing a few years ago when I wanted customs for our Disney trip last year and it has become an obsession that I never knew existed:lmao:

Great job on this dress too. Perfect with the shoes:thumbsup2

Thanks Andrea!! I would love to come join in the Disboutiquer's thread. Hopefully I will be able to do that in a few weeks. I have gotten very behind on some other things I need to be doing, so I have to catch up first. ;)
