WISH Team Marathon Weekend Events

Lynn and I arrive 1/5 and leave 1/14, staying at AKV, and will plan on the Pop food court meet, and PI on Sat Night.

OK, I just decided that my Scream Team location for the half will be behind the Poly at around the 13 mile mark. That way I can cheer for both daughter (who is fast) and hubby (who is slow), then grab the monorail to Epcot and watch hubby come in with the rest of the back-of-the-pack WISH Team.

I have not been very attentive to my WISH friends the past couple of months -- work, training, and life with three kids has my head spinning! Just finished my last Christmas shopping -- now on to the wrapping and cooking! YIKES!!!!

Just wanted to pause long enough to say I am absolutely DYING to meet friends old and new at the WISH meet at POP.

I am staying at Saratoga Springs with friends (I get to see how the other half lives!) from Thursday (Jan 10th) until Monday noon (Jan 14th). I'll be doing the 5K, the half, the full, then heading back home to work to pay for all that fun! I will be meeting my brother during the weekend, but I don't know his plans and he knows I'm trying to catch up with my Disney Dead friends as well as my WISH buddies, so he may or may not be with me on Friday. (He's attempting his third Goofy as well.)

As an aside, typically I plan every second I'm at the World -- mapping out which parks I'll visit, where I'll eat, etc., etc. This trip I'm just planning on the races, my now-traditional post-half-marathon massage, and one special thing: a the Backstage Magic tour with my brother. Now the Pop meet is on the schedule, as well as a breakfast with the Disney Deads just before I leave on Monday. All booked -- and I'm not riding a single ride! Whoa!

What shirt(s) will you be wearing for each of the races? You totally caught me unawares when I looked over and saw you during the ToT race LOL So what will it be? Bright yellow or black? Serious Wendy spotter wants to know I'll be in the 5K and Full with ya so want to watch for you and planning on being over by the Polynesian cheering the 1/2 so definitally need to know if you will be wearing something besides WISH so I can yell for you.

Now back to trying to learn the Goo Goo lyrics so I can sing at the goo Goo Queen You all might want to wear headsets, I can't carry a tune

I'll be wearing WISH colors most likely. The black is typically too hot for me for FL, but I have to say I did enjoy the "Dead" skeleton design for ToT. I have very dear friends in both groups, though.

We really enjoyed seeing that shirt When I spotted the 1st one I said that HAS to be a Disney Dead runner. Very cute design to whoever came up with it.

I guess in future races if during the day and you feel the need to wear black then you will just have to make sure you have your Cheshire hat on

Oh! And I'll be doing the Family Fun 5K as well. Can't wait to see this year's plastic medal -- they are always so cool. Anyone heard any rumors about the theme for 5K this year?

I am pretty sure that I will be at the Pop on Friday with probably one guest. I should make it since I am staying there and have nothing else scheduled that day.

Here is the plan, but we will see what happens.

Friday - try to make the POP meet for dinner. Might be tight on time though, because our plane lands at 2 and we still need to check in at POR and get to the expo for packet pickup.

Saturday:
Start and finish of the 1/2 (my wife and I)

Sunday:
Start and finish of the full (just me. My wife will scream team somewhere and be at the finish)

Pleasure Island Adventurer's Club open to close.

Monday:
Nothing as our plane leaves at 1, so Magical Express is at 10. Not enough time for the Boardwalk meet.

I will DEFINITELY be on a scream team for the Full... Wherever I am needed the most.. that's where I will go.. I am a good wisher!

I will do the After Race Party.. The Adventurer's club with Cam and Howard is something I will never miss!

I will make the Bakery Breakfast Meet...

Hmmmmm.. that seems to about cover it! I can't wait to see everyone again!

Paul!?!?!? You and the wife are coming? Woohooo!!!! Your brother too? I'll be somewhere around the Polynesian I think, probably will try to meet up with Anne (Mahare) and crew since I've never cheered for the Half before.

I'll be attempting the Full and my DH is coming down just to run between parks as one of our personal support people. He'll be over by the Polynesian on Sunday then move to MGM. Mom will be outside AK and then move to Epcot.

I'll be watching!!!! The crazy nut yelling Go Paul and Mrs Paul!!!

Hi Yvonne,

I too am single and have been travelling solo to the runs exclusively. All of these wonderful WISHERs have taken me in... and it has always been the highlight of my trips. Don't worry.. you will know everyone... especially at POP.. it is a huge group of hugging, laughing loud folks.. some dressed to impress with all their WISH attire on. You can't miss em! So.. make sure you come on down! Oh.. .and I still wear my lovely nametag that I got from last year's POP gathering... and will be doing so again!

I'll be arriving early on 1/11 and staying at BCV with my dear friends the Keeners (Cam & Howard and dd Jenn). I'll be at the Pop Meet, the 1/2 finish, the full start and finish (Cam & I are doing the full again together), the PI gathering Sunday night (have to go to AC at least once) and then at the BW meet on Monday. I'll be leaving later on Monday to return home to dh who is kindly staying home with the kids!

Can't wait to see everyone again in just 2 weeks!
