When do the prices come out for Wish? Is that not released until the first day of booking? I’ve never booked at release before so not sure how it work. I have FCC I’d like to use and thought next August on the new ship might be nice, but can’t plan without price.

Prices will start coming out as Platinum CC members book. There will be a Price Request Thread here on the DIS. You can post what you're interested in - how many people, the date, etc etc...and the super-nice people with early access will quote you preliminary pricing.

in the beginning platinum can only book by phone. What you are suggestion will hold up the cast members to get to the next guest. People could just put what they booked and paid that way it doesn’t hold up the people on hold waiting to talk to the cast members.

So pricing will not be available to see online until actual booking day, is that correct? I’m gold and was going to have my travel agent call on that day - I just don’t know to have her do a 4 night or a B2B...

Correct, you won't be able to view pricing directly until booking opens. However since you are Gold there will be reports here starting with the Platinum booking date.

This is how it works on a typical release. Because the first 3 days of platinum booking for the Wish is only by phone, it isn’t practical for platinums to get price quotes for others. But once the online booking is open on day 4, I am sure platinums would be happy to run quotes. 😊

Yep, I'm the bottom platinum level and I'm always happy to do this (though my work comes first, so others may beat me to it).

I didn't see this post when I posted on another thread so I cut and pasted that post here just for some reference. Granted it was 10 years ago and in January so who knows what pricing will be for the Wish MV.

Ok, I just found my invoices for the Dream MV back on January 26, 2011 so 10 years ago. We also booked the cruise immediately following so I will breakdown the fares of both cruises so you can compare the MV price with a "regular price" We had different cabins on the two cruises in slightly different Oceanview categories.

1/26/2011 - Dream MV - 4 night Bahamas (booked on 11/4/2009)
Category 9B - Cabin 2004
$1,030.00 - cruise fare per person
$166.17 - taxes and fees per person
$1,196.17 x 2 = $2,392.34 total cruise price for 2 people

1/30/2011 - Dream 4 night Bahamas (booked on 11/23/2009)
Category Cat 9A - Cabin 8504
$594.00 - cruise fare per person
$168.72 - taxes and fees per person
$762.72 x 2 = $1,525.44 total cruise price for 2 people

We were Platinum back then so our TA probably booked us on the first day for the MV but I honestly don't remember how they did it back then.

I am trying to extrapolate and figure out what the Wish MV (which is a 5 night) may be price wise but I just can't wrap my head around it. Any guesses?

MJ

Not counting the slight category difference, the MV was approximately 73% more than the cruise that followed. If we extrapolate that from a four night to a five night, the price would have been $1139 (assuming the ppn held stable from a 4 night to a 5 night). That would make the 5 night MV approximately 91% more than the 4 night regular sailing. At least that's my best guess based on this data (thanks @mmouse37!).

So, it's probably fair to guess that the MV will be 100% more than the cost of a regular 4 night cruise.
