WISH Chatters Exercise Check-In

Whoo hoo! I feel good. I just did the FIRM Complete Aerobics and Weight Training. Boy did I sweat. I don't sweat for some reason when I do WATP's, but boy do I sweat when I do the FIRM DVD's! It's been a few months since I stopped doing them 3 times a week, boy can I feel it. I am sure my abs will be very sore tomorrow!

The kids and I are going to go snow tubing down the hill behind our house in a bit. I should get a bit of a workout hiking up the hill in the snow!

Thanks for the challenge on Monday night. If it wouldn't have been for that, I am sure I would have made more excuses to get started exercising!

I also had such a good healthy lunch. It was leftover from dinner last night. Black beans, tomatoes with a little homemade fresh salsa in a skillet (cooked till it gets liquidy). Cooked Quinoa (one of the healthiest grains there is) and warmed soft tortillas. Mix the quinoa and black bean mixture and put in soft flour tortilla. Add a little fresh salsa and whala! It was so good. I was going to make this with brown rice, but I didn't have time to cook the rice for 50 minutes. I could get used to being home on a weekday! This is nice!

Way to go Melanie, I know what you mean about if it hadn't been for the chat Monday night I know that I would have been using excuses as well. Two days in a row of exercising and I'm planning on tomorrow as well.

Have fun with the kids out in the snow this afternoon, I would think that would be burning some calories too.

Your lunch sounds very good too, doesn't it feel so good knowing that we are making such great choices? Keep up the great work.

Oh, and be careful this afternoon, you wouldn't want to get hurt and cause a reason to not be able to get your exercise in.;)

I ran today...1 1/2 miles straight, no stopping!! :bounce: :bounce:

I like this interval training, going back and forth between longer and shorter runs. I really pushed myself last Sun and pulled a muscle in my ribcage - can you say OW! - so it felt good to run without pain today. Tonight I have tap class, 45 mins of dancing so that will make my day and exercise sandwich! Fri I think I will do the elliptical since my long run will be on Sat this week.

I like having somewhere to check it, thanks!

Well, I was bad today. I got up and excersised yesterday morning, and then before I went to bed I was playing around with my DDR. But..... I ended up spending 5 hours last nite at the emergency clinic with my dog, so I only got about an hour of sleep last night. Needless to say, no exercise for me today. But I will be jumping right back in there tomorrow. Right now I just feel like sleeping!!!
Julie

It flet really good to be able to go snow tubing with the kids and actually be able to get up off the tube easily. Last year, it was such a struggle with the extra weight. I did get winded after going up the hill, and waited about one turn each time to go down. I probably walked up the hill at least 10 times, and once I chased one of the tubes all over because the wind started blowing it away. I was really tired after that, but it didn't take too long to recover, and I was ready to go down the hill again. It was such a workout!!!

I am definately going to do the WATP 4 miles tomorrow, and the FIRM again on Friday.

Mrsv98.....way to go! Running 1 1/2 miles, you go girl! Glad you were able to run without pain. Tapdancing sounds fun! Hope you had a great time

Julie- Hope you got to rest some today, I bet you were exhausted. Glad you will be joining us tomorrow!

4 miles on the treadmill in the morning and I have my weight class tomorrow after work so that will be a good day for me. I am happy to report that I did stay OP today and my massage was so wonderfully relaxing that I know I can get up in the AM and do those 4 miles.

Love this - I need this accountability to get me back into the "total committment" again !

Thanks all you fellow WISH "chatterers" for coming up with this great idea!

Friday will be an hour worth of exercise probably WATP and the firming tape by Leslie S.

Anyone else have a report from yesterday's exercise. It looks like we may be missing one or two who committed. I'm not hollering any names, just checking in.

Bev-glad you are joining us on this committment.

Mel-sounds like you had a blast snowtubing. Lots of exercise climbing that hill. You go girl.

Jazy-sorry to hear that your dog was having problems. I hope you got more sleep last night and are feeling better today.

mrsv98-WOW, running 1 1/2 miles is awesome without stopping. Glad to hear that it was pain free and I would say that tap dancing would be great exercise.

Everyone keep up the great work. I'll be reporting back in as soon as I get off the treadmill. I have to come here every morning to remind me why I can't make any excuses::yes:: .

Good morning Tammy and everyone!:sunny: I wasn't in chat on Monday (rare GA ice storm--no power for 30 hours!), but would love to join you all in your exercise committment. It's something I really need to do everyday in order to maintain my 110 lb. weight loss. So far, so good--I've exercised 6-7 times a week for as long as I can remember, and for the first time ever, am enjoying physically pushing myself. I'd love to join in if you'll have me...:wave2:

Hi there! Sorry, I didn't check in yesterday. I was not able to accomplish anything. 'Cept--how about shoveling and shoving my car out of my driveway. Got stuck on the ice/snow mix. I'm cranking on DH in the a.m. too as he was on his way to rehab (after quad bypass) and he's trying to shovel me out! Can you believe it! What a pair we made.

Anyhooo! I got up earlier than my usual this a.m. to send of my DH...birthday boy today. Since I was actually up I decided to start off my day with the 20 min Winsor Pilates dvd. Will try to "top it off" tonight with tm. (Yuck)

I really wanted to try to get up at 5am this morning to exercise, but I just couldn't do it. Sleep won!

By the time I get home and pick up my DS6 and we get home it will be 6pm, then I have to turn around and pick up DD11 from a class trip at 7pm, it will be about 7:30pm till I get back home. I should be able to get dinner done around 8pm, and get my exercise done about 9pm or 9:30pm.

I really had hoped to do it early so that I could get it done and I could relax this evening. Oh well, I won't let this keep me from exercising today. I WILL DO IT! No matter what!

I'll check in later tonight. Thank goodness it is a WATP's day, because my legs are so sore today!!

Reporting in today-I got my 30 minutes on the treadmill in along with crunches and squats. I am so happy that I can say I have exercised for 3 straight days. Thanks for keeping me accountable. I am making the committment to go for 30 minutes on the treadmill again tomorrow.

luvmydogs-please come join us, the more the merrier. WOW a 110 pd loss is something that you really do want to maintain. Let us know how you did with your exercise. Congratulations on keeping up with your exercise.

Tiger Lily 03-Shoveling I would count as exercise. Way to go on getting your Pilates done this morning.

MelanieC-I don't think I could have made the 5am call either. I have to say that I admire you saying you are doing it no matter what with the time tonight. I don't know that I would be able to do that. But I say "you go girl".

Keep up the great work everyone. I'm enjoying this check-in and we will have something to report in during chat time come Monday. Make sure you keep up with how many times you made the committment and kept it. Hopefully we'll be able to encourage others that have been having trouble getting back on track. I'll be looking forward to other check-in's later on today and tonight.

I everyone:wave2: and thanks for the welcome Tammy! This is my first official check-in, and as I've posted earlier, I'm trying to stay motivated to exercise 6-7 days a week in order to maintain a 110 pound loss. I've been officially maintaining for a little over three weeks, and have been exercising consistently since May. I ususally alternate The Firm's Cardio Sculpt and Complete Aerobics & Weight Training videos during the week, and WATP 4 Mile Super Challenge on the weekends. Today I did the Complete Aerobics & WT, and tomorrow I'll commit to Cardio Sculpt. Tomorrow is one of those super busy days, so I'll have to get up an hour earlier to get in any exercise--blech--but I'll just have to do it. (If I don't do it first thing in the A.M. I won't do it at all). Thanks for being here everyone, and a big WTG to all who got moving!:)

Y'all are doing great!!!

I didn't check in yesterday- I ordered a new computer for Mom, and it arrived yesterday. I spent the entire evening getting her unpacked, installed and connected. She did make me a very nice on-plan dinner! (I did a lot of bending, stretching, unpacking, and moving computers and furniture around... does that count for anything?)

Today, I'm a bit sidelined with a sinus infection... as soon as I can breathe and the headache subsides, I'm back in!

Yes I am comfy but happy to report I did do my 4 mile on treadmill this am and 45 minutes of weights tonight after work.

DH had an OP dinner ready and I even have a few points to spare (don't tell ohMom she says I gotta eat em all) I just can't tho I am full ;)

Tomorrow morning is one hour's worth of exercise - I am thinking tha Leslie S is calling me to join her in the WATP walk and then her firming up video.

This is my second day OP and exercising and I really think I am re-committed this time.

Thank you everyone for the support.

KathyTx hope you are feeling better - sounds like you could get your mom to write you an "excuse" note - but I believe that since you were such a kind daughter that you deserve to be excused without the note :earsgirl:
and now hoping that sinus stuff is already gone. Is Texas as bad as Ohio for sinus related - "just feeling like crap" days?

Well, I did my work today!! I got up and did half of a Richard Simmons tape this morning (I am not the least it coordinated and was lost through most of it) and I jjujst finjishjed jdoing about an hour of DDR. So, mine is done for the day.

Oh, and an update on my dog... She is at the orthopedic surgean today and will come home on Saturday. They had to put plate in her jaw where it was broken. Good news, she will be ok. Bad news, we had to dish out $2100.00 that we didn't have :( But our baby will be back home in a few days!!!!

Julie

Well I did the WATP's 4 mile tape tonight. I got done around 9:30pm! I can't believe how sore my body is today. The FIRM tapes really kick it up a notch. I am not sure how I even did the WATP's, but those moves weren't that bad. The kicks were a bit tough, I could really feel them in my legs.

Not sure if my body will still be this sore again tomorrow. I can't imagine doing the FIRM again being this sore. I will see how I feel tomorrow. I really should get up at 5am and do it, because tomorrow is family night. I don't think that will work. I need tomorrow during the day to rest my muscles. I will probably get another round of WATP's in after I get home from work, prior to us having pizza and watching the movie Radio.

Luvmydogs.....welcome! Glad you are joining us. That is a really impressive weight loss! You have done such a great job!

Bev,
Whoo hoo! 4 miles on the treadmill and 45 minutes of weights. I won't tell OhMom about you having some points to spare!!

Julie,
I am so glad your dog will be home soon. Good for you for getting some exercise in while all that is going on.

Kathy,
Hope you start feeling better soon. We will be here waiting for you!!

Tammy,
I am enjoying this check in too!! Glad you guys got me to get going on my exercise! I need the extra time to get into shape before next January!

I am happy to report that I logged 35 minutes on the treadmill this morning along with some crunches, squats, knee push-ups and some jumping jacks.

I am trying to mix somethings up after the treadmilling so not to get bored. I am starting the feel the love for my treadmill that I once did:D . I will go ahead and commit for at least 20 minutes tomorrow, but then will probably take Sunday off from the treadmill but work in my other exercises.

Mel-I am so impressed that you followed through and did your workout at that late hour. I am bowing to you for sure. Don't push your body too hard where you cause some injury, we don't want you doing that. Pizza and a movie, umm that sounds like good family fun.

Julie-Congratulations on getting your workout in and I'm so glad that your doggie is going to be OK.

Bev-Glad that you joined us yesterday and I have to agree with M that you should at least eat your points. You don't have to use the flex points, but you do need to eat your minimum. I won't report this time, but I won't promise after that;) .

Kathy-I am sorry that you aren't feeling good. I am sending PD that you'll be breathing normal again soon. You are such a great daughter to be helping your Mom with a computer.

luvmydogs-I hope that you were able to get up like you needed to this morning to get that exercise in. I understand where you are coming from, if it doesn't happen in the morning, it just isn't going to happen around here. I'm glad that you have joined us.

OK everyone, how is today going? Did you stick to your commitment that you made to your self? Remember it is OK to give yourself a break so not to hurt yourself, but we want to get ourselves kicked back into the routine, right? We can do this if we keep challenging ourselves. I am proud of us all, we have come a long way this week. It will be great to give a wonderful report that led from our chat on Monday night.

Keep up the great work, keep the faith and keep moving.

Hi everyone! Yes, Tammy, I did get up an hour earlier to do my Cardio Sculpt! I didn't enjoy getting out of bed so early on such a cold morning, but now I'm glad I did. Congrats on all the work you did today, too--you really got working! Tomorrow I'll be doing either Complete Aerobics & Weight Training or WATP 4 Mile--after that, A LOT of laundry!:crazy2: Have a great weekend all you WISHers, and thanks for keeping me motivated!

Man is it cold here! Thank heavens for the gym! I did 50 mins on the elliptical trainer this am and it felt really good. Everything else feels easier compared to running!

Tomorrow, I will take DD with and go do my long run, at least a 5K. She goes to the kids' club, I like the fact that she sees me working out and working toward a goal. It is so funny, before she was born, I had all these conversations with myself about how I was going to make sure that she ate right and was active. I was not going to make weight an issue. All this expecting a little butterball like all the other babies in our family. What do I have, a little Pixie who is almost 4yo and maybe weighs 31lbs  I still don't make weight an issue, but it amuses me to no end to have such a tiny child!

Keep up the good work everyone!

I was up and at 'em early - did the 3 mile WATP and still needed a few minutes to make the hour of exercise so I did a first ever for me!

I put the treadmill at 4.6 and lasted at that speed for 1 ENTIRE mile - that is the first time I can claim that I did a mile in 13 min and 15 secs!

And, dinner is done, it's after 7:00pm, so no more eating today for me - so I made it through day #3 - OP and I have a plan for the weekend - sign on my fridge says "DO YOU REALLY WANT TO LOSE IT ???? Hoping that it is the incentive I need to keep on track all weekend.

Once again, this is a great thread of accountability - you guys are the best!

Oh yeah - tomorrow is at least a 6 mile walk and Sunday will be my day off!
