I haven't checked in for a few days, so here's a big mega-reply:
She's only home until Monday, so we will have to fit in a lot of catching up (and laundry) by then!! And she wants to be on campus EARLY on Monday, since her request for a single room never came through this summer and she is moving in with a roommate!! She wants to be there first to have first dibs on picking her side of the room!

So anyhow, if you don't hear from me much for the next week, don't worry!
And that is exactly why I left my house very early on the first day I could move into the dorms my freshman year of college (and I got the side of the room that I wanted!). My other three years I was lucky enough to have a single room (probably because the head of housing had gotten to know me very well from all of my roommate complaints - not that I had bad roommates, we just didn't get along), so I was fine.
I hope you enjoy spending some time with her!
One of my strategies is to accept that I am not perfect and therefore don't have to try to accieve everything at once. Esoecially when I am struggling, I try to just focus on one thing. After all, this is a lifestyle change and you can't change your habits all 100% at once. I find it so much easier to focus on one, two or three things at a time and then move on to the next. With that strategy I have seriously change my sleeping habits (getting much more sleep now!) and have a healty breakfast most mornings! And I don't have to work hard anymore. Next step currently is to really get into a routine of regular running.
I'm the same way. I consider myself a perfectionist, but a very rational one - I want to be perfect, but I know that I'm not so I just try to do things in steps. I had actually stopped actively trying to lose weight a few months ago because I was in such a bad place that I had no idea what was going on - so I decided to take some time to just work on eating better and not care what the scale says, and then work on getting in more exercise ... and taking things in steps has really helped me.
Oh, lunch is something I need to work on as well!! I thought I did well last week, but then I was constantly hungry in the evening. So obviously something was not right with my lunches!! Will try to come up with a strategy for the rest of the week though!
I used to be like that, but then a started adding a snack between lunch and dinner. A few hours after lunch I would have a fruit or a piece of toast or a small yogurt - something not so big, but enough to tide me over for a few hours.
Lately I've been telling myself "because you're worth it." And then putting down the chocolate! That didn't work so great earlier this week when I was out of town! I am back on the wagon today! I really think never giving up is so very, very important.
I got the job!

I will start at the school office a week from Friday. I have a new employee training tomorrow afternoon and they will pay me for it! When I subbed we had a mandatory training and they didn't pay us. This will be a nice treat! The job starts late enough in the morning that I can continue with all my workouts so that is great. The bad news is I start work mid morning so that'll throw a kink in eating. Guess I will just have to wait and see how it all works out. May have to eat two small breakfasts. Dunno.
It's good to remind yourself that you are worth it - that's something that can be easy to forget when you're not doing well.
And congrats on getting the job!

I'm sure you'll fall into a routine after a while - it'll just take some adjusting to figure out how to work your eating schedule into your work schedule.
I was bad yesterday. I was depressed and bored and just ate. I gained back like 4 pounds. =/
I'm hoping it is just natural fluctuation.
I'm looking into doing Zumba again. I dunno. It was discouraging this morning.
So sorry you had a bad day, but things will be better! One bad day doesn't ruin anything - just keep trying to stay on track!
WATP Musings, Training Thursday, 8/21/14: Have you ever tried an online workout video? Did you like it? Do you have one to share with us? Bonus points if it is Mousercise!
I used to use SparkPeople videos - Coach Nicole at SP is really the reason I got back into exercising.
These days I'm very into Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds. She has some not-so-intense easy to do workouts that are good for me when I want to get my heart rate up but I'm not feeling up to high intensity (which with me happens a lot more than it should).
I also like Jessica Smith (
http://www.jessicasmithtv.com/), who has a lot of great videos with a lot of variety.
I know I probably sound like Im really together and on the right path and I know what Im doing
but Im really not like that at all. In theory, I know what I should do and how to do it, but in practice
I have a lot of problems with execution. Thats where my biggest issue is.
Other than that
I went for a nice run (well, walk/run) this morning
I havent updated my running journal yet (I take notes while Im on the road and put it all in a notebook after I get home), but the general theme of the run was wow, they really need to put some trees in this park, theres no shade.
Meanwhile, I wanted to make something nice for breakfast today, but I didnt want any of my usuals, and I just didnt have the patience to search for a recipe I was interested in. I ended up having coffee and a banana blueberry muffin (relatively healthy I made them myself a few weeks so I could leave out much of not-good stuff). There are some days when I want to cook and just dont have the patience to find recipes (and then there are the days when I just want a donut but thankfully most of those days I go for something else instead). If I have some time later this morning, I may look for a good lunch recipe.
And that's all I got for now. I hope everyone's having a great day!
