Hi,

I'm going to Disneyland on May 23rd with DH and DS and was wondering if anyone knows where I can have internet access, either wireless or an internet cafe? We were there about 3 year ago and I remember not being able to find a place anywhere! Our hotel has internet access but we have to pay like $20 dlls a day and I just don't feel like spending that kind of money for using the internet like an hour a day. Still, I would like to keep in touch with my family while I'm gone.....

Any thoughts? TIA! :goodvibes

First would be stay at a different place with WiFi. Next I was told the the WiFi at GCH had an access code. Could someone confirm this?

Thanks,

Jack

This is specifically for PPH, but I can only imagine it's also true for GCH.

PPH has wifi in some public spaces, like the coffee shop area. It's not supposed to be available for guests (unless, perhaps, you pay for it...otherwise it's wired internet access). Alas, those wireless waves just don't know what walls are, and we've gotten onto the public area wifi network waaaaaay up high in the hotel.

Since PPH has public area wifi, I imagine DLH and GCH do too.

Thank you for the responses. I guess I will have to look around when I'm there to see if I find a closer place to where we're staying (Embassy suites south) or take my itouch to the PPH coffee shop and get myself a late!

to bad you did not get a motel that has free internet. Anaheim Fairfield Inn by Marriott does. Im thrilled.

We are staying at Embassy Suites South too. The trade off for us was we valued the free breakfast more than free wi fi. :rotfl: Not to mention the fridge, the microwave, the extra room... :goodvibes

We still aren't sure if we will even bring the laptop.

Tried to get a room there for mid August, all booked. Sounds nice. Since I need to handle daily email from work, it is a bit antiquated not to have free WiFi.
Got an iPhone to solve the WiFi issues.

You took the words out of my mouth! That's exactly why we picked the Embassy Suites as well, but I thought I would try to find out before I go if there is a place where I can access the internet as opposed to walk for blocks looking for it. We will still bring our laptop because we use it as DVD player in the plane! :thumbsup2

They do have WiFi I believe, but they charge for it (daily rate). Maybe soon they will start offering it for free to compete with all the other hotels, hopefully!

Hey Jack - GCH, PPH, and DLH is public (unsecure/free). They recoup the dollars they have invested in it by "including it" into the generic resort fee they charge guests. We were there recording a segment one day and I tapped into it to look something up. No code needed. Heck - even as a hotel guest you don't need a code.

[Only if you have web-enabled cell phones]:

Two of DH's coworkers have successfully used their dual-mode cell phones as a modem. This means that they were successful at accessing the web on their laptop because they gained internet access through their cell phone.

Wouldn't hurt testing this out, especially since you could stay in your room instead of going out of your way by lugging your laptop to other places.

Here are some links to set it up!
