We just got back. I'm not sure how long the wire has been there but does anyone know why there is a wire coming from the top of the castle down to the front of the park? I asked a couple of CM's, one said it so Cinderalla can get cable in her room the other didn't know.

Thanks

If you're talking about the wire I think you're talking about, it is how Tinkerbell flies during Wishes.

Yes, it's for Tinkerbell to fly down. The CMs probably aren't supposed to say that's what it is for. Pshh Tinkerbell? Need a wire?? She's got wings!

Why would Tinkerbell need a wire? :rolleyes1

I thought it was a clothes line.

Below is a rough estimate of the Fireworks viewing spots
based on other posters' info on the boards and personal experience.

(The "cable" can be seen, marked as "Tinker Bell's Flight-Path.")

From what they told us on our backstage magic tour was, when they first started sending tinkerbell down the wire, the "Stopping" system was three large cast members and a matress. Since then it has been "Improved"...

Of course they also told us..
"No mater how many times you ask, the answer will be 'there is only ONE Mickey Mouse at Walt Disney World'" I have this on video.

The tour was great, by the way

During MNSSHP, we overheard a mother telling her older children that the wire was for Cinderella to fly down during the fireworks. Correct story, wrong flyer! :rotfl:

Wire? What wire??? My daughter and lots of others know that's the REAL Tinkerbell flying during Wishes. Anyone who says otherwise must not believe in fairies... and we all know what happens then!

Out of earshot of my daughter though, I will say that I also got the scoop from the CM on the Keys to the Kingdom tour about the "Tinkerbells" and how they are basically pushed out a window and land on a mattress at the end of their flight! They supposedly get a full day's pay for their flight because it's so dangerous!

The wire is there only to guide Tink during her flight so she doesn't stray into the fireworks. Its very dangerous up there with all the bright flashes and smoke.

That's what we were told during Keys to the Kingdom.
In KTTK we were told that although you might look at it and *think* it's a wire that Tinkerbell is attached to, it's "actually" a guide wire Peter Pan laid for Tinkerbell to follow so she doesn't get lost.

Yup.

That's why I call it "Tinker Bell's FLIGHT-PATH" on my maps.
