wipe off boards?

I got DD#1 a small wipe-off board in the spring to keep her organized and keep her grades up. She wrote upcoming tests, etc. on it. Since school was out it said "June 6!" and a couple of other items.
Yesterday I decide to start cleaning her room since she's gone until Sunday. I tried to wipe it off--nope. Tried getting the kleenex moist--that worked even less. I got most of it off, but only by using every ounce of strength I had and scraping some off with my nail! I can't take it off the wall to work on because it is on with those sticky tabs, and I don't want to take the paint off.
Any ideas? I'm about ready to chuck it and buy her something else to keep organized.

Did you try nail polish remover? That often takes off 'marker' marks. Good luck.

You need some white board cleaner spray. Is usually located next to the dry erase markers. It works wonders!

I've seen the spray that they sell to remove the dried ink. Target has it.

Try hairspray. It works on dissolving permanent markers like Sharpies off of most everything! It might work to remove the residue off your board.

Dh has a white board at home for work stuff. Whenever something has been on there a long time I just use regular windex and it takes the remainder of the marker off.

We use white boards at work and when they get a lot of residue, I clean them with alcohol.

I use the Mr. Clean magic erasers to clean the ones in my classroom.

I had a friend who used to use spray on car wax. It removed the ink and left the white board much more erasable than before the cleaning.
