So as a novice but long term viewer.... I thought that gubanova did a fantastic performance... prejudice by the ghost soundtrack I felt the movement,,....was her costume acceptable???

While happy for USA gold, I really do feel for those Canadian women. They played hard and led for so much of the game. It’s such a hard loss.

A question for those who understand the minds of figure skating judges: do they ever get distracted by the music? I'm finding some of the music these days annoying, especially now that skaters can use songs.

You can say the same about the losers in any competition at any level. It's simply part of the game.

And yes, I have been on both sides (not Olympics, but youth and high school sports).

what was wrong with her costume?

Had the two human faces...to me it pushed the narrative of the music and that I found enjoyable but I was questioning the professionalism pushing costume boundaries... again it's about what I know...the narrative of the music... which made this Olympic fun to watch

True. Maybe because it was the “local” rivalry (10 miles from the border) and often cheer on the Canadians. Or maybe that so many are teammates in the PWHL which we watch. I just “feel” it more than some other wins/losses.
